Great Musician..GREAT BOD!.......2003-08-02

Yes yes, we all saw Athena in Riverdance. She is a phenominal player, and quiet inventive with her celtic/scottish phrasing. This cd is a testament to her ambitions and promising future as a(hopefully) solo artist. Man...WHAT A BABE! If any red blooded male musician out there saw her in riverdance; he must have held his breath for the whole time she played!! Man, ive never seen a violinist look so good in leather pants! OWWW! The beautiful face is obvious, and the sex appeal is there. Athena, your good..but it helps even more that your freakin HOT. -#1 fan!!!

Excellent Recording.......2001-07-28

I bought this album after seeing Athena Tergis in "Riverdance" on Broadway. She is extraordinarily talented, and this album reflects that.

"Journey Begun" features some light pieces, and some dramatic pieces, and some in-between. All of them are great examples of gifted fiddle-players who make the music seem natural and easy. The album as a whole is original, innovative, and enjoyable.

Brilliant Fiddling.......2000-05-05

This disk blends traditional Scottish folk sounds with a new element: bursts of energy, sometimes popping up at unexpected times. A mix of slow, emotional ballads and up-tempo tunes for jigs. Original compositions with strong melodies and great improvisation, played to perfection. Absolutely wonderful music (even for people who don't usually much like violin); the recording has a very warm sound.

Alterior Motives.......2000-02-02

I found this CD absolutley fantastic to play Quake 3 Arena to. The subtle fiddle strokes and jigs create a very esoteric, yet calming effect while playing this adrenaline-inducing game. The results are enigmatic, but nevertheless appropriate to such a gaming hit.

Emotional and energetic upgrade of traditional celtic fiddle.......1999-04-26

Firmly rooted in the rythyms and cadence of traditional celtic fiddling but with a strong contemporary flair that makes it highly accessible to newcomers like me. I felt like I was hearing Keith Jarrett play Scottish ballads on the violin. Some tunes are traditional 'jigs' but most have strong, even catchy, melody lines that make this a real pleasure to hear. Some of the best blend the melancholy of mexican folk music with the texture of great violins. Its well worth the requested $13.
