Chamber music worthy of your attention.......2001-04-25

The chamber music tradition of South China is too little known, both in China and the West. This cd as well as Silk and Bamboo (PAN), also available from Amazon, are welcome additions. The music is gentle but lively and easy for western ears. The music is structured as complex heterophony played with vituoso technique. The Shanghai Traditional Music Society is made up of distinguished musicians and includes teachers from the Shanghai Conservatory. Also look for 3 cds from the King World Music Series.
