Sexy heartthrob Enrique Iglesias returns with a slickly produced collection of rhythmic ballads ("Esperanza," "Cosas del Amor") and soft rocking sing-along tunes ("Desnudo," "Contigo"). Iglesias, who wrote six songs here, sounds more confident and in control than ever in this work produced by Rafael Perez-Botija. Ultimately, though, most of this stuff sounds like lightweight pop pap wrapped in lush arrangements, occasionally overly dramatic and consistently overproduced. The tunes go down nicely, but they're instantly forgotten once they're over. The only tunes into which Iglesias injects some notable fire are "Para de Jugar" and the R&B/funk-flavored "Dicen por Ahi." It hardly matters, however, to his main audience--mostly adoring female fans. Iglesias's matinee-idol looks and this sweet ear candy are all they need. --Ramiro Burr

Enrique Iglesias with this cd"cosas del amor"has a 5 star in the way to sing every track.His voice is very touching.all songs are beautiful."Sirena" and "Nunca te olvidare"are my favorite tracks

ENRIQUE'S THIRD / ALL GOOD SONGS !!!.......2004-11-18

This cd has all good songs with good lyrics and soulful music. There's really not a bad song here just a cd full of hits, so i can't really pick a favorite. Probably the most monotonous song would be #8 Para de Jugar because it only has two small pharagraphs and the chourus is just repeated over and over again. The singles chosen out of this cd really stand out from the rest, but the title theme, #2 Cosas del Amor, is also a good song. He really starts to prove what he can do with his voice, especially in #6 Alguien Como Tu, where he holds a note out for a while. This is probably his cd where he shows that he's maturing in his lyrics and music. The success from this great cd prepares him for his crossover to the English market.

Stll Love This Cd.......2004-10-09

First off I like to say that I have known Enrique Iglesias since his first cd and own almost all of them expect Quizas {2002}which I have not bought to this day. But I will be adding it to my E.I. cllection and his remixes (1998) Enrique Iglesias's father Juilo Iglesias is a well known repescted singer who has been singing since the 70's and now his son to this day is a well respected singer like his father whos been singing since the middle 90's. This cd is not the original cd that I owned before. That one got badly sctrached that I had not choice to throw it away and get a new copy. I have a reprint copy which was reprinted in 2002 but thats okay I am just glad to have this wonderful cd from E.I. again which I think has so far been his best work with some of the nicest song like Esperanza and Para De Jugar which are 2 of my faves. I don't speak a lot spanish but I do understand it. But you don't have to speak spanish or just speak a lttle bit but just understand it so you can understand the betaiful words that Enrique puts into the betaiful songs of his cds.. Thank You other Enrique Fans.

The essence of Enrique.......2003-09-30

Enrique is the king of writing highly emotional songs and this cd proves it. almost all of the songs are very romantic like 'sirena', and 'contigo' and 'nunca te olvidare' although some are of heartbreak, they are so well written and sung. 'ruleta rusa' has a cool beat to it, different, spices up the cd a bit. and 'dicen por ahi' makes you feel soo bad for talking bad about someone. imagine if you talked bad about an ex beau and he found out...how would you feel?? this is his best cd by far, there are soo many great songs and lyrics. It's what Enrique's music is all about...emociones puras y profundas.

HIS BEST CD IN SPANISH........2003-04-13

When Enrique released his first cd back in 1995, I found it terrible, well actually the music and the lyrics were good but his voice back then was horrible. But in 1997 when his second one came out I found it better.
So in 1999 after listening to hits like "Esperanza" (Hope) and "Cosas del amor" (Love's things). I bought this tittle and I liked very much. The first song "Nunca te olvidare" (I'll never forget you) is a very good love song such as "Dice por ahi" (They say there around), "Contigo" (With you) or "Alguien como tu" (someone like you).
I also like Enrique's happier songs like "Para de jugar" (Stop playing) and one of my favorites, "Ruleta rusa" (I don't know how is the name of this game in English, I'm just gonna tell you how this game is. Is a round board with several colors and each one has an award or you can lose becuase you have to make it spin and when it stops you know if you lose or win something).
Returning to the cd, it's very good, I highly recommend it.

he did much better in the Italian version. I think he did not need Aguilera to accompany him in Somos Novios. He sings, she screams.
Anyway, I am happy I purchased it because I like him in any language.

If you like this CD, do yourself a favor and get Placido Domingo's similar, Grammy-winning "De Mi Alma Latina" (1994) and "De Mi Alma Latina 2" (1997). You won't be sorry.

All songs in this cd are very beautiful.Andrea's voice is very soft in this cd. It contains classical song from Mexico,which are called "boleros". Bocelli has sung these pieces very nice.I love "Besame Mucho", "Jurame",and of course "somos Novios"

Jose does this set with the heart of a Mexican. There is not a single song that is in the cd as just a fill in. He blows fellow Puerto Rican Luis Miguel away. Luis just does not have the heart to do ranchera music. You will not be disappointed with this cd.

Feliciano does it again with a superb album of Mexican music.......2004-09-25

This is another great album from the master vocalist and legendary guitarist. This album furthermore proves once again that Feliciano is pefectly comfortable in any style of music. I have never been keen on Mexcian music but the way Jose sings evey song is really outstanding. He (like always) puts so much feeling and emotion with everything that he sings that this time is no exception. He feels every note that he sings like if it was coming from his heart. Feliciano is such a professional that no musical style is impossible for him. His voice and guitar is equally brilliant although on this album his legendary guitar playing is in the background due to the Mariachi Sol De Mexico that backs him up in every song on this CD. This is a great album and as I said before Jose Feliciano is after 40 years of staying power in the tough music industry a leader and a living legend and a musician of superb talent and showmanship.

Excellent Music.......2006-11-13

To all those people, listeners and collectors of great music; I recommend you to listen to this CD Super Estrellas del Amor.

I am baffled by some of the reviews.......2005-06-10

I think I bought the same DVD/CD combination as everyone else. The DVD had 7 songs of Shirley Bassey live from a 1989 concert in Vina Del Mar Chile. She was Excellent. It also had several music videos from Demis Roussos of him lip syncing. Obviously one reviewer did not know who Demis Roussos is. He sang one of the biggest hits ever "Forever and Ever." Demis Roussos does not lip sync very well (never has), but was still entertaining. The DVD contains 18 hit songs of Shirley Bassey, Matt Monro, and Demis Roussos in Spanish. The sound is great on the CD. These are new recordings in Spanish, with new orchestrations, not old recordings with new Spanish lyrics. They recorded the music specifically for the spanish versions. As for the sound on the DVD. The volume was a bit lower than some of my other DVD's, but I did not have a problem playing it on my Panasonic DVD player using a Sony surround sound system. I also played it on an old Phillips DVD player I had hooked directly up to a Sony TV. I had to raise the volume, but could easily hear the sound. For what you are getting for the price, it is a good value. Could they have done a better job on the sound, maybe so, but it is still nice to see Shirley Bassey do several songs not heard or seen anywhere else- especially Hey Jude. 6 of the 7 songs done by Bassey on the DVD are in English Incidentally. The package is a CD with a "bonus" DVD. Thus you are getting the DVD for free, and the entire package for the price of a CD. At least they are trying to give us some value for our hard earned money. It was not great, but it was a very good "remember when." Definitely not worthy of a 1 star rating. I gave it 4 stars because the sound on the DVD could have been better, but it is definitely not a 1.

This was terrible.......2005-05-04

I love Shirley Bassey but not in this video. First of all it wouldn't play on my DVD player. I needed a special player for it. Secondly there are creepy videos on here of the other artists dressed up as god knows what. Very low quality on sound and video. Do yourself a favor and skip this and if you must have it...Email me I'll send you mine. I'm not kidding...it was that bad. If you want Bassey buy The Divas are forever concert of hers. That's great.

I Agree With Musiclover.......2004-08-31

I have not had any problems with the CD or DVD sound. I think the CD sound is absolutely great (big orchestra sound, not old tracks with voices added). I really like the Matt Monro and Demis Roussos songs. Shirley Bassey sounds great on the CD, and she sounds and looks great on the DVD. I just popped the DVD into my player and it played. I did not need to make any adjustments. I have a Sony DVD player.

I Beg to Differ with D. French.......2004-08-31

I bought the CD/DVD package, and have played it on a Panasonic, and Phillips DVD player, as well as a portable DVD player. I have not had a problem with the sound. I have been in contact with dozens of other Bassey fans worldwide, and they have not had a problem with the sound. While I understand your frustration, I do not think your review is fair. Obviously, if there was a problem with the sound, I would be having the same problem, as would everyone else (they are all pressed at the same plant, using the same master). If you received a replacement and it still does not work, it has something to do with your equipment, and nothing to do with the DVD. I thought it was a great value for a "remember when" package. I am sure Amazon.com will be happy to send you another replacement, but why don't you ask them to test it first. I am positive it is your equipment and not the DVD. That being said, I am sorry you had a problem. Once you are able to figure out the sound settings on your DVD player, I hope you correct your review.
