I LOVE this cd.......2007-05-19

I've had this cd for a few years and I absolutely love it!!! Anna Vissi is one of my absolute favorite Greek artists. If you like Greek pop this is a good cd to purchase.

Astounding.......2004-09-24

This CD seems to capture Anna at the height of her expressive career, with a perfect blend of music and lyrics. Later albums don't quite capture the bold experimental sounds and passion of this album, so I'd recommend it as a first (with Travma) for anyone not familiar with Anna Vissi's music. Personally, I prefer modern treatments of traditional Greek musical idioms, and to me this does just that, but has an emotional and soulful content that almost explodes from the CD. Antidoto is stunning and a bit chilling in its intense sensibilities and expression, Denomai is incredibly gripping, the light-hearted Tilefonaki has one of the most amazing clarinet solos on CD, Mou Anikes is so pathetic it drives in the significance and impact ancient tragedy must have had, the favorite S'exo Epithimisei is multilayered thrilling and vivifying and makes you want to dance, listening to the thoughts in Methismeni Mou Kardia makes me feel like I may need a visit to the ER if it lasts too long, and Na Ton Agapas is a beautifully mature ballad and soulful rendition of resigned love. Seeing Anna in Boston, I was sure I was in the incarnate presence of Venus of Cyprus (the lighting helped a bit). But to hear her belt out incredibly complex vocal ornamentations at the same time she was greeting her fans from the stage was a revelation. If only American contemporary music could really hear what her artistry has to say and offer...

Breathtaking..........2003-06-21

Soulful, breathtaking, passionate, mysterious and mystical are all words that would accurately describe both Anna Vissi and this album. The artist's incredible voice coupled with the instrumentation make this CD a wonderful addition to any music collector's library!

annas 1998 album is full of passionate performances.'gazi','mou anikis' ,'o ponos tis agapis', 'pali gia sena nai'.the title song is a good track but only if 'magava dut' and 'tilefonaki'were not included then it would have been much better.very nice!

A Good Antidote........2002-04-26

Emotional... & at times depressing. Anna always has the tendancy to start something new and different. The album contains some "Zeibekika & Stong Ballads" among other styles. Her Duet "Magava Toute" is fun while the title song & "Erotenmenaki" unforgettable ...
Highlights, "Mou Anikis", "Na Ton Aghapas" & "Pali Yia Sena".
This is great Greek music!

Anna Vissi is perhaps the most popular and beloved artist in Greece right now. Her vocal abilities are exceptional and her on-stage appearance simply a beauty. Her latest CD "Antidoto" includes some of the best examples of her great talent and her ability to compete with other big divas of the 20th and 21st century. I love this woman and the CD as well. What you listen and see of her is what you get. She is real, she is beautiful, she is sexy...she is one of the best singers in the history of modern Greek music. If you like to hear traditional Greek musical sounds and listen to a beautiful romantic/rock/folk/classic voice, then you must buy this CD. You won't regret it!

This is an outstanding CD. I am a professional belly dancer and am always looking for new music. I came across this CD in a search and my troupe is currently working a 4 piece routine to 3 of Anna Vissi songs and will be performing it later this year at Rakkasah and belly dance competitions. She has an incredible talent. I would definitely recommend this CD for listening pleasure or dance pleasure.

This is an excellent album and I highly recommend it. "Andidoto" has a unique sound and Anna's voice is entrancing. All the songs are great, I especially like "Gazi", "Yi Alla", and "Antidoto." I didn't think she could outdo "Travma" but she has!

she has a wonderful voice, but i think she has the power to do more...i'm waiting for her first english album, should be released at the end of this century, well, if i can believe to all that rumours, let's wait and see!

Oh, lord... When will Anna Vissi ever learn that a woman can produce beautiful music AND age gracefully, just as easily as a man can?

I have great respect for Anna Vissi's vocal talents. She'd been recording since she was about 18 years old, and while her voice still is reasonably strong, she suffers from horrible PR people, and is taking some of the worst advice one could take from the music industry.

This album only did well in Greece because it was promoted like crazy. As with the U.S., people will buy in mass quantities whatever you tell them to buy; except when you tell them NOT to buy something. Then they'll buy it just for spite. The arrangements on the album are weak to the point of transparency; there are no new ideas, no imaginative lyrics, and worst of all, no conviction.

She knows as well as the listener that she doesn't really care about the music; this is just product.

I can't fault her exclusively for this miserable album--it's also the trend of Greek music (if you can call it that) that's being propagated by other (ha!) artists to make albums that don't stand the test of time. But when you've got access to the best session people in the country (as she does), there's no excuse for songs like this.

She is about more than two decades in that business now, and still top in Greece and Cyprus. This album is reflecting her talent in lots of music styles she is gifted for. Greek folk, Euro pop, and a strong beautiful voice. Since two months now she sets up a record in selling her new two singles, the english titled 'everything I am' and the greek titled 'agapi ypervoliki' down in Greece. Her first english album should be out in October/November this year, and I only can hope that she will get the success she deserves abroad. Annoula, you're doing great...

Absolutely agree with the previous reviewer -- Vissi is a great talent. I am not Greek, nor do I understand much of the language, but good music is just that. One note of caution: If you buy one of her CDs (and you won't go wrong, I promise), you may start to want to seek out other Greek artists as well. The music is just that good.

In addition to Vissi, George Dalaras, and Haris Alexiou (three of the biggest names), I suggest looking for the songs of artists like Pasxalis Terzis, Antzy Samiou, Kaiti Garbi, and Despina Vandi. If you enjoy good music, you'll be richly rewarded.

Anna Vissi is perhaps the sexiest, the most beloved, and the greatest show-woman that Greece has ever known. Her latest CD "Antidoto" is an amazing collection of a large variety of tunes and melodies. Vissi is perhaps the only Greek singer that can sing any type of music style so perfectly. This CD includes songs in jazz, dancing, folk, and ballad melodies accompanied by the great voice of this amazing performer. The song "Se exw epithimisi", which was the biggest hit of this CD, stayed on the top of the charts for more than 2-3 months. All of the songs in this album are still played on the radio in Greece and her public appearances have become a major national event all over the country. For those of you who are not in Greece, ...get ready...she is preparing for her big cross-over. She just released her first English CD single and had two very successful concerts in New York City. I would recommend the CD "Antidoto" to everyone who enjoys listening to a romantic, sexy, and rock voice. Anna Vissi is the only who can do all these at once!
