This album is a masterpiece. Phil has done things for the guitar that cannot be described. This record is absolutely a must for anyone ESPECIALLY guitarists. His other efforts are equally impressive... "Hello Dali" and "Just Duet" which sees him collaborating with Mike Stern, Charlie Hunter, and Larry Coryell to name a few. [...]

This is the best guitar album I have ever heard! He is one of the great masters of the instrument and completely innovative. If you like Lenny Breau and Frank Zappa, you need this. Fans of this would also like Steve Topping, Bruce Arnold and Farquhar.

Another NYer fan of "Ph.D" and his unprecendented "innuendo out the other"..Philip invented the GuitHarp - on this album exhibits his mastery over the beast as well as the sharpest of wit! (Please note: although "5 Stars" is the highest option on the scroll bar, I must agree with Charlie Hunter, who rated this album 5,000,000+ stars in Guitar Player mag needle-drop interview..)

terrific solo guitar album.......1999-04-28

Philip deGruy is no ordinary guitar player. His instrument is a 17 string "Guitarp" that he designed himself. It's a 7 string blues guitar with 10 "harp" strings that he uses both for filigre and melody. If you like Tuck Andress, you'll like this.
