Spirit Wing, a three-piece contemporary Native American group, presents shows that are a combination of Contemporary and traditional Native American music and stories. Educational and inspirational, the show is an emotional experience that will make you laugh and cry. Unique harmonies and hypnotic native flute combined with guitars and drum creates a dynamic experience for the listener. Audience participation in Eastern Woodland Indian traditional dance usually ends the performance on a high note. An experience for all to savor. Spirit Wing's live performances include Bethlehem Musik Festival, Philadelphia Folk Festival, Nassau Community College Folk Festival, Susquehanna Folk Festival, Forksville Folk Festival, Penn's Landing at Philadelphia, SouthEast Cherokee Fed. Powwow, Two Moon's Powwow, Hobby Horse Powwow, and many other festivals, coffeehouses and powwow's.

As much as an open invitation as it is a work of art, Azure Wonder & Lust compels the listener to accompany Annette on a journey which delves into the subconscious and conscious heart and mind, in search of spiritual and metaphysical truths. A sharing of intimate personal experience yields expressions of sorrow and joy, felt mutually by artist and audience alike.

Azure Wonder & Lust generates a spontaneous passion in search of answers and meanings. An intricate mixture of musical styles oscillates throughout the album as a variety of emotions are explored in attempts to gain the necessary strength and inspirational hope for fulfilling one's human needs.

Magic relates the blessings of personal freedom with the potential for it's abuse, depicting the dilutions and distractions which materialism and popular culture can exert on the human psyche.

Dive proposes a relationship between the love of nature with the love of one another, describes the concept of universal love while affirming this as an intrinsic and innate desire.

I Don't Want It Anymore exposes the personal desires which distract and prevent one from realizing what would truly bring joy into one's life.

Black Man's Daughter is a celebration of her own multi-racial heritage, Annette challenges us to recognize our own racial heritage and confront any existing racial prejudice.

Let the World Go Away was written as a eulogy to her parents, a tribute to two passionate, courageous individuals who proudly stood fast to their values and beliefs.

The propulsive heart of Azure Wonder & Lust lies within a voice from which emanates a tantalizing style of melodic intensity. By openly expressing her passion and exposing her vulnerability, Annette implores the listener to find the courage to do the same.

If you are a Kate Bush fan, check this one out. Although original and different from Kate Bush, it is an amzing personal journey you'll take with Annette. "Magic" is the opening track. I have a hard time getting past this song...it is my favorite. When I play this cd, I can't get past this track.I have listened to the rest, and I like each song, but "Magic" has me mezmerised!

Album Description

This dynamic new release from Beachwood Classical Recordings represents the eclectic style of symphonic composer Robert Vinson. This CD was recorded by the Slovak Radio Orchestra from August 30 to September 2001. The conductor is Kirk Trevor and the violin soloist is Frantisek Novotny. The violin concerto contains elements inspired by Vivaldi, Brahms, Mendelsohn, and modern jazz. The symphony is inspired by Richard Strauss, Maurice Ravel, Roy Harris, and Carl Neilson. Drawing from the aformentioned influences, the music is contemporary without alienating the listener.

The symphony begins with a slow introduction which contains much of the thematic material to be used throughout the composition. This is followed by a brisk allegro starting with the celli and gains momentum as the other instruments continue the theme in fugal type imitation. After the recapitulation the movement closes with cadenzas in the harp, flute, and finally the clarinet over underscored timpani. Andante, the second movement, is reminiscent of neo-romanticism. Evoking a circus atmosphere, the middle section contrasts the mysterious pizzacato opening and closing of the third movement, Scherzo. The final movement returns to previous thematic material at a brisk tempo utilizing the full spectrum of the orchestra's colors and techniques.

The Violin Concerto is in three movements. The opening Allegro is largely neo-classical but uses many melodic devices common to jazz and contemporary music. The second movement is reminiscent of American hymns and spirituals. The third movement is a modified rondo form which makes extensive use of the gypsy minor scale.
