He played w/ the best of them!.......2001-06-19

Pepe Martinez was one of the few unkown Flamenco Guitarists of the 50's,60's and 70's. Although he died rather young (54 yrs. old I think... 1984), he left only a few but great solo recorded performances. I have this CD and his work is sooo smooth, and his fingers move sooo fast. This is in stark contrast w/ Carlos Montoya frenetic style. I have another recording of Pepe were he plays an incredible buleria, the only draw back in that recording is that there is too much hand clapping. Pepe was very popular in England in his day.
