Editorial Reviews
'bayreuth 2' Continues Where the First Left Off. It Has a Wider Variety of Styles, Less Stringent, Smoother, Yet More Intense. The Music Rarely Strays from the Pattern Set on the Original and Includes all the Elements which Contributed to the First Album"'s Success. The Only Difference: The Brute Strength (A Feature of the First Album) Has Been Broken Down Into Fine Small Pieces Incorporating Sensitive Cello Arrangements and Greater Vocal Variation Without Sacrificing Any of the LPs Intensity.

What a disc!.......2001-09-26
Witt's musicwriting displays an impressive compositional richness that makes for an ironically extremely pleasant listening experience, even (or perhaps particularly) for an avowed devotee of grandly Romantic and neo-Romantic music such as myself. While the lyrics leave something in terms of content to be desired, the subject matter does not particularly detract from the music, nor does Witt spiral this time too deeply into dark, hyper-gothic thematics (as he indicated a prior proclivity for). This is, in sum, a surprisingly good disc...perhaps ideal as a change-of-pace, and certainly an album worth having in one's collection.
Recommended.
