"Namo Namah" is an astounding blend of Western virtuoso instrumentation (double bass, classical guitar, tabla, and hammered dulcimer), exquisite 3-part vocal harmonies and traditional Indian chant. Usually, it's the chanting that predominates in CDs of this genre, but here, they've managed to blend the music with the voices into something truly transporting.
As inexplicable as it is to me, this chanting reaches into my soul, where it soothes, energizes, and vibrates in resonance with what feels like my true spirit.
I know this sounds like ridiculously boundless praise, but I think this is a profound experience.
(Note: I listen to this on an iPod, which immediately makes it more of a totally immersing mind-body connection.)
