First of all, a Caymmi Family map

Caymmi is a famous breed in Brazilian music.
- Father Dorival Caymmi is one of the greats from traditional and regional samba. He's around his 90 years old and his 3 children are all great performers too.
- His daughter Nana Caymmi is one of the most important singers in contemporary Brazilian song.
- Dorival Caymmi Filho, aka Dori Caymmi, is a great composer, guitarrist, arranger and singer. His arrangement for Henry Mancini's "The Pink Panther Theme" was a 2000 Grammy nominee. He's also worked with Sergio Mendes, Sarah Vaughan and Johnny Mathis. Many of Nana Caymmi's albums are brilliantly arranged by Dori Caymmi.
- Danilo Caymmi, the youngest brother, is a flutist, composer and singer. He's worked as a flutist and singer with Tom Jobim.

This album
This is the first complete album of Danilo Caymmi's compositions, most of them with inspired lyrics by his then-wife Ms.Ana Terra. She would prove to be a great lyricist to other Brazilian composers notably Joyce.

The album was originally issued in the 70s, times of military dictatorship in Brazil. Material consists of modern samba with little jazz accent and with some political lyrics. All tracks are sung in Portuguese by Danilo Caymmi.

Milton Nascimento, Airto Moreira, Novelli, and Fernando Leporace are some of the important musicians who play some tracks in this album.

Note: the track "Pe sem Cabeca" was also later recorded by Elis Regina.
