Editorial Reviews
The Warumpi Band's sophomore CD Go Bush is an edgy blend of hard rock, new wave, and country-rock. The album tends to provoke a whirlwind of emotions with its inspiring political anthems and hard-driving protest songs. The intense opener "No Fear," a song about hometown violence, sets the tone for the album that despite its upbeat feel has rather dark undertones. Some songs try to hide their anger with a catchy melody, "From the Bush," however, is a bombastic assault against contemporary Australia. While the edgy tracks are certainly memorable, equally impressive is "My Island Home," the band's most well-known tune. The song, which was covered by Christine Anu in 1995, is a true rock anthem, praising Aboriginal life. Beyond these tracks the album features a solid mix of styles with the country themed "My Countryside" to the instrumental "Didjeridoo Blue." With its musical diversity and bold statements Go Bush is easily one of the best Aboriginal rock albums to come out of the '80s

Majors for Minors- classical music nursery rhymes.......2002-04-25
I can only assume that G Spanos is a music academic and authority on classical music, however from what I know of the research that went into this series the mucis is purely a classical interpretation and the success is actually created by sound frequencies and specfic patterns which the producers have used.
The fact that the product uses digital instruments as opposed to authentic instruments from what I understand has no bearing on how this product works.
I admit as a lover of classical music myself that there is far supeior available, however as a product designed to calm and assist with active and passive situations during a childs daily life - there is nothing better in the market (from what we know of) and we have used many other products designed for this purpose wthout success!
My knowldege of Majors for Minors workings is probably better than most average person, due to the fact that when I was in the UK on business, I read an article in a London newspaper which gave detail on how the produsers of this product went about their research and they admitted that their compilations such as the nursery rhymes and the lullabies would sound rather monotonous to the average adult, however the effect on children under three is excellent.
We challenge G Spanos or any parent with young children to use this product and not experience the incredible benefits to their children as my wife and I have found. In fact we would go as far as saying that the principles of this product should try and do alot more to make Majors for Minors more known to the rest of the world.

This is an intriguing collection of mostly folk and folk- influenced material in concert form. The splendid opera singer and recitalist Mentzer and the great guitarist Sharon Isbin have arranged their program for maximum variety, even including several guitar solos as interludes. Although Mentzer says she has long wanted to record the five American folksongs that open the program, she sounds a little uncomfortable in them, too large-scale and operatic in delivery. But the remainder of the disc is excellent, including three wonderful Schubert Lieder and the delightful French folksongs arranged by the almost-forgotten composer Mátyás Seiber. The performers and recording engineers collaborate to ensure that the guitar is always properly audible. And what a great way for fans of each artist to meet the other! --Leslie GerberCustomer Reviews:
Strangers indeed (3.5 stars).......2007-02-21
Bravo.......2000-07-31
The CD consists of many folksongs, American and French plus British works and Lieder. The sound quality is superb. The symetry and synergy produced by Isbin and Mentzer has to be heard to be truly appreciated. Sometimes the voice or instrument is in the background. While writing I am listening to Mentzer and Isbin's guitar mastery provides a beautiful blend. There is one problem that I find. The title is misleading. After listening to this CD, most listeners will feel like neighbors, not strangers. They may be wandering but there is some direction. "Wayfaring" to me implies less direction. The music is spontaneous and moving. It is also free flowing rather than having each performer stick exactly to the scores. Yet they are in tandem. So, as they wander, their steps are in synct.(sp). I bought my copy on an auction. Now, I will look for more Mentzer works while continuing my search for more Isbin. If Erato shows its savvy, there should be an encore CD.
Bravo.

Product Description
Love them or hate them, Zandosis unleash their debut full length cd, "George W Bush Go Straight To Fucking Hell". Just in time for the mid term elections, Zandosis unleashes a shotgun blast of mayhem. Sounding like Mike Patton fronting a guitarless Melt Banana on crack. This cd has been six years in the making. For those not familiar with the band: Drummer Stewart Voegtlin started beating on double boilers and copper pots as a wee boy; smashed crockery followed. Several ad hoc kits later he was slashing and bashing with suburban Death Metal fiends, Lustmordem; terrifying posh Buckhead youth with rural heathens, Asmodeus, all while air-drumming at home to S.O.B., Bathory and Possessed. Wooed by the freedoms of late '60s european Jazz, Voegtlin sent the double kick drum to the shed and worked Metal's intensity into wave and pulse drumming - styles typified by Sunny Murray, Rashied Ali and Dutch madman Han Bennink. There are blast beats; there are relentless ride cymbal attacks and there's a bit of the unpredictable: conch shell, trombone and [broken] clarinet are given the selfsame mistreatment. Bassist Tony Gordon - honestly it's hard to tell if he's playing a Fender bass or if it is playing him. He's got the most unique bass sound anyone's ever heard, as often it sounds like something completely not a bass (most often it sounds like two battleships making love). His solo project is called Freebass, and again you'd be hard pressed to pick out any bass sound. Vocalist Marshall Avett started the Old Gold label in 1994; been playing with unrecognized geniuses in groups like More, Mato, Charlie Parker, Petland Toy Faktory, and Zandosis; likes ice cream; has cats named Fatty Nacho and Squeak; and has never ridden a crest of power like he feels when he announces these songs and launches into the resulting attack of sound and electricity.Customer Reviews:
ugh..........2007-08-01
The one note "shouting a joke title about something terrible happening to a member of the Bush administration and then bursting into grindcore" approach of the first half of the record is kind of critic proof on some levels. Either you're going to be a fan of it, or you're not. The second half offers a boring, overlong noise piece...which is a little easier to critique. The piece is certainly nothing fans of avant noise will not have heard before, and in so probably isn't of too much interest
My rating of this record really comes down to the production. It's a thinly produced piece of work (the "grind" half being an especially thing mix that borders on sounding like it was recorded on a handheld tape recorder) with little dimension or space for the band to explore sonically. The music just simply isn't served by its lo-fi quality, and the record suffers immeasurably because of it.
In the end, this feels liks a joke record, not only for the jokey song titles but simply for turning this band into a two trick pony. I suppose that means the joke is really on fans of Zandosis, who had waited patiently for years for this band to put out a quality debut album.
