About the Artist
Rajasree Mukherjee: A double graduate in Indian Classical & Traditional Music, Rajasree has been living in East Africa for the past 15 years and apart from regular singing concerts in Kenya, Tanzania, Canada, USA and India, she is a leading teacher of Indian Classical & Traditional music, a Music Therapist and has conducted several workshops on music over TV & Radio. She has three times received the Government of India grant for promotion of culture.

Shromona Mukherjee: Grew up in Nairobi, Kenya and is presently, a final year graduation student majoring in Psychology at Frostburg State University, Maryland, USA. She topped the Sangeet Visharad graduation exams in Indian Music in 2001 - 02 held in India. She has performed in numerous concerts in Kenya, Tanzania, USA & India.

Haunting Melody.......2005-08-17

This album leaves one breathless...the selection of songs is simple wonderful and the presentation melodious. Both Rajasree and Shromona have sung all the songs beautifully and the music orchestration is also very nice. This album is a must for all Indians living abroad and all those who miss their motherland.

I would like to meet her!.......2005-08-01

I was very impressed by the song sung by Shromona Mukherjee. Her song "kar chale hum fida" was very touching. She has a very fresh voice and I would definitely like to meet her someday, if possible! I read about her upbringing and it doesn't seem as if she has spent so many years abroad because her style of singing is very Indian. I feel this is a very good quality since many Indians living in India have forgotten their own language!

Interestingly different!.......2005-08-01

I found the song "saare jaha se acha" very interesting because of the fast rhythm pattern used. It is very different from what has been usually heard over the years. The ending of the song gave me a very strong sense of belonging to my home country.

Childhood memories.......2005-08-01

The song "Insaf ki dagar pe" reminds me of my childhood, since we have grown up listening to and singing along with this song. It really made me emotional!

Sweet and melodious.......2005-08-01

I really loved listening to the variety of songs in this CD. There were sombre songs, as well as lively songs. My favourite is "O majhi" because it is very sweet and melodious.
