Absolutely smashing!!! You cracked the musical ball out of the compositional ball park ten successive times with "Kingdom".
Product Description
The long awaited ninth album from Scotland's best kept secret - Composer Tim McGowan. The new "Kingdom" CD has been getting rave reviews from new age radio station programmers and broadcasters across the U. S and has entered Top Ten Playlists prior to it's official release on November 5th 2004. Words alone cannot convey the beauty within this musical journey from the artist who has been likened to the genre's household names such as Kitaro, David Arkenstone and Yanni. With the comparisons set aside, it has to be said that upon listening to his collection he without a doubt has his own unique style and sound and is not merely a clone of those who have come before him. This CD along with his previous catalog of albums are a must have for those who demand more than sonic wallpaper. Don't take our word on it!! Pick up a copy today and sit back, relax and allow yourself to be whisked off to places only you can go and will want to return to time and time again with this musical journey.

Absolutely wonderful CD.......2007-08-08
Boy was I wrong!
This CD stands out on its own. The quality of sound is fantastic, and his voice is as rich as ever.
The great thing about Paul Potts, in addition to be a fabulous opera singer, is that he has popularized opera, in my opinion, like no other person ever has.
Get this CD. You will love it! It has surpassed my highest expectation.

No Doubt's 1995 release, Tragic Kingdom, brought Southern California's ska scene to a national stage while elevating the band to star status. An irresistible mix of reggae, punk, and power pop, Tragic Kingdom scored several hits, among them "Spiderwebs," "Just a Girl," and "Don't Speak." Singer Gwen Stefani's looks made the group MTV shoo-ins, but her soaring voice is the real star, as evidenced by such songs as "Happy Now?"--a classic you'll-regret-you-dumped-me anthem that recalls Blondie--and the bouncy "Sunday Morning." Despite recurring themes of pain and regret, Tragic Kingdom manages to somehow feel sunny throughout. --Courtney KempCustomer Reviews:
Breakout, no doubt!.......2007-01-18
One excellent Ska album.......2006-11-09
Welcome to the Tragic Kingdom!.......2006-07-26
1. Spiderwebs. A great intro. This song is what defines No Doubt style to my opinion. I love this one. 10/10
2. Excuse me mr. I don't like this song that much. I think ''Sixteen'' should have been released as a single instead of this one. The lyrics, don't make much sense, but the piano sounds good. 6/10
3. Just a Girl. A very nice song about teenager girls. The guitar sounds great. 10/10
4. Happy Now? This song sounds good. I like it.9/10
5. Different People. Nice intro. The rest, isn't that bad. 8/10
6. Hey You. The first time I saw this song title, before I listened to it, I thought It was a remake of Pink Floyd's. This song is the strongest one. It's just rock. Doesn't have any reggae, pop or ska rythm. One of my favourites. 10/10
7. The Climb. It didn't have to take much time. This song is the boring slow one. Is actualy quiet good, but is the longest one, and it wasn't necessary at all. Up to 6 minutes!! 8/10
8. Sixteen. One of my favourites. One of the best rock songs No Doubt has ever made. It had been released as a single and I bet it would have reached the number one for weeks! Starts great, is the song that makes you stand up and jump. I was 16, and I felt like this song was to me. I felt identified with it.''You're only sixteen and you're feeling old...'' And it ends when Sunday Morning starts, with the drums. 10/10
9. Sunday Morning. I love how the song sounds, it's geat! but the lyrics doesn't help that much. But I don't care, I like it! One of my favourites. 10/10
10. Don't Speak. I have no words to describe this song. The lyrics, the sound, everything on this song is great! I think this is the best No Doubt song on their 5 studio albums!
A strong ballad. ''As we die, both you and I, with my head in my hands I sit and cry...''.10/10
11. You can do it. Doesn't sound that good. This song shouldn't have been included on this album. Is just the worst. I don't like it. 3/10
12. A very nice song. ''We gotta fing another way to make the world go 'round.'' The lyrics are great. Is just about rality. I love this song. 10/10
13. End it on this. A good one. Not that bad. 9/10
14. Tragic Kingdom. This song is like the cherry on the cake. I like the intro when it says "Permanecer sentados por favor" in Spanish. Welcome to the Tragic Kingdom! 10/10
Be sure you pick a copy of this album up. This album is No Doubt's best ever.
Fun!.......2006-07-19
Great New Wave/Ska Revival.......2006-07-10
This is the ultimate No Doubt album - terrific sound of ska/new wave/pop. Listening to this album again during our present penchant for 80's revival made me realize that "Tragic Kingdom" was about 10 years ahead of it's time.
"Spiderwebs", "Excuse Me Mr", "Just A Girl", "Sunday Morning" and "Don't Speak" are all great singles.
Hopefully this band will truly return to their great roots and return to this fine form in the near future...I think it's the perfect time!

Filmmaker Ridley Scott has long been intrigued by historical events and their contemporary echoes, a fascination that evinces itself again here in the violent tale of Balian of Ibelin (Orlando Bloom), a Jerusalem blacksmith who rallies his people against foreign invaders during the Crusades of the 12th century. Breaking with a successful modern collaboration with Hans Zimmer that yielded such eclectic riches as Gladiator, Hannibal, Black Hawk Down, and Matchstick Men, Scott turned here to fellow Englishman/former Zimmer associate Harry Gregson-Williams for his new film's music. The composer, perhaps weary of the electronica-suffused action film cliches he's so often been associated with, rises admirably to the occasion with a sweeping orchestral score that masterfully trades on a wealth of disparate historical and stylistic influences. Gregson-Williams echoes the film's religious and cultural conflicts via the tense musical axis at the soundtrack's core, one that sets the invading Church's medieval choral ecclesiastics on a collision course with the ancient Arabic modalities of the film's hero. The resulting score may occasionally trade on hoary Hollywood romantic traditions, but the composer infuses them with such bracing doses of historical/ethnic antecedentsand his own decidedly contemporary instinctsas to create a compelling new whole. Even the obligatory, pop-oriented version of Ibellin's Theme ("Light of Life") by Natacha Atlas shimmers with Middle Eastern-inflected enticement. --Jerry McCulleyCustomer Reviews:

Few retirements are as short-lived as that of New York rap mogul Jay-Z. Barely two years after bowing out in 2004, he's back with Kingdom Come--and if he's set down the mic for a minute, it doesn't show. Backed by a dream team of producers (Just Blaze, Kanye West, Dr Dre, the Neptunes), with special guests including Pharrell, Beyonce, and Coldplay's Chris Martin, it's an A-list cast. Naturally, though, it's the Hova who's the star attraction, slightly older and prone to pontificating on his ten years in the game (see "30-Something"), but certainly no wiser: as he raps on "Trouble," he's still got "hands in the cookie jar." The first few tracks are pure consolidation, gleaming and boastful productions that remind you just how great Jay-Z is on the mic. Further in, though, Kingdom Come branches out in style: "Hollywood," the duet with Beyoncé, is a jaded take on celebrity culture, while "Minority Report" relives the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina with the Bush Administration in the metaphorical sights. Finally, the Coldplay-produced "Beach Chair" concludes the album on a spiritual note, Jay-Z announcing "life is but a dream" as Chris Martin trills like an angel atop echoing drums and distorted, music-box guitar. If you thought it could never work, you were clearly underestimating.--Louis PattisonAmazon.com
While nowhere near a career-ending disaster, the wobbly Kingdom Come wasn't the best justification Jay-Z could have made for ending his retirement. You'd think his enthusiasm for jumping back in the game would give the album more energy but despite a power trio of songs by Just Blaze that kick off the CD, much of the album feels listless and unfocused and it doesn't help that A-list producers like Dr. Dre and the Neptunes drop the ball with some truly tepid tracks. There are nice moments: the blistering title song, Jay's soul-baring "Lost Ones," and his snickering disses on "Dig a Hole." But, those moments are counterbalanced by the clunky "Beach Chair" (produced by Coldplay's Chris Martin), the obnoxious, corporate swagger of "30 Something," and the garish, unlistenable club cut "Anything." Any fan of Jay over the last 10 years knows he's better than this so now the new anticipation will be for his real comeback album. --Oliver WangAlbum Description

****CHECK IT OUT!!!!.........jayz is a RHYME BITER!.......2007-08-07
Anyway, i must say this album blow. The lyrics are oooookkay...but nothin special. same old flow. He probaly bit more rhymes too! The album is overall boring. the beats suck. Just blaze makes an alright beat on 'show me whatyagot' but jay-z rap is nothing special. 'anything' is basically an R&b song that jay-z spits amatuer lyrics over. 'Trouble' is one of wackest dre beats ive ever heard. Jay-z's rap on that song is terrible -NO FLOW!! 'Lost ones' is a nother wack slow song. the entire album features dumber versions of his old songs with wack lyrics. The best song is 'minority report' but not because it's good, just cuz of the message. Honestly...JayZ, you should stop claiing you're the best and spend more time on philanthropy. This CD is wack.
OOH! - and listen to this
I'm a Jay-z fan, for sure, but he is a hhuuuge rhyme biter. Biggie, Big L, Big Daddy Kane, 2Pac??!!, & even SLICK RICK???!!!! How does the 'GREATEST' rapper alive aka the king of ny bite rhymes from these rap idols? Any one of those rappers is 1,000,000,000x better than jay-z will ever be. he is a good entprenur, but not a classic rapper, to me. Especially this new stuff is WWAAACCKKKK
btw... don't believe about the rhyme biting? look it up, it's true. anywhere. jay-z says, 'numbers dont lie' , well neither do your lyrics jay-z, when you compare them to these rappers - nuff said
I cannot stop listening to this fine, fine performance.......2007-07-29
He Still Has It.......2007-07-09
I love to see the fact that Hov has matured in his life and his music. Many people want to hear him rap the same way he did five years ago. Jay cannot do that because he is in a different space. Artists are suppose to mature and reflect that maturity in their music. The album's intro lets everyone know that the flow is still there. Songs like "30 Something" tell the listeners that Jay is on his grown man. He is not interested in that young boy stuff anymore. "Beach Chair" is a perfect song to close the album.
This is the most introspective Jay-Z album and it is sad that people do not want to hear him make statements. Life is not all about Fly talk. The only songs I think should have been left off the album were "Anything" and "Hollywood". I do think they fit the album. Other than that he is still the best. These other rappers need to stop hating and taking shots at him. Jay influenced their flows and showed them how to expand business outside of being an artist.
The game needed him and Nas. The rap game was boring and wack. Their new music was refreshing. "I used to think rapping at 38 was ill, but last year alone I grossed 38 mil. I know I ain't quiet 38 but still, the flow so special got a 38 feel. The real is back." That says it all.....
Yes, Kingdom of Incompetence comes ...with you !!! We know it !!!!.......2007-07-08
It's a great mistery of this earth how people shoud buy your albums !!!
I don't have this album and I never will own it.
For this rating I used the examle tracks of tha [...] and it is enough to say that THIS IS A FLOP LIKE ALL YOUR ALBUMS.
I sincerely have to tell you that I appreciate you just and only when you are a guest in the albums of the other rappers . So be guest from here to your day of death.
Fortunately there are rappers like Redman, Camp Lo, Icarus, Mally G, Da Ranjahz, Lord Tariq & Peter Gunz, M.O.P., Onyx and GangStarr that maintain high the banner of the rap music !!!
JUST WITH YOU HIP HOP IS DEAD. This would be the title of your next album : " Just with me Hip Hop is dead !"
3-1/2 stars -- The Blueprint 3.......2007-06-30
One thing I have to mention, though, is that the first half of the album had to grow on me. Most of the songs are produced very well, but the thing is, they're produced in such a way that they would work best as instrumental tracks; one really shouldn't be trying to rap over them. And Jay is trying too hard to drop lyrics over such tracks, especially the two most overrated ones, "Oh My God" and "Show Me What You Got".
Thankfully, Jigga redeems himself elsewhere, like on the political "Minority Report", as well as "I Made It", "Dig a Hole" and the title track. But there are also a few more songs that seem a little too similar to his previous work. Although "Lost One" (with Chrisette Michele) is good, it feels like it should have been called "Song Cry Part II". But the obligatory Neptunes track "Anything" should have been left behind, not to mention that Jay already had a song called "Anything" (but to be fair, it was a bonus track off one of Beanie Sigel's albums). And "Trouble" starts off all right, but it gets weird toward the second verse, especially when he ends it with: "If my hand's in the cookie jar, know one thing/Ima take -- y'all know what I mean." We do?
There is also a necessary Beyoncé duet, "Hollywood", that goes absolutely nowhere. And I almost had to knock my rating down to three stars upon learning that the final three tracks are just songs from previous albums. Basically, Kingdom Come is "just another" Jay-Z album, which is why I compare it to The Blueprint. It's not the classic comeback that Jay told us it would be, but it's not terrible either, so just play it to pass the time.

Look closely or you'll miss him (and this little gem).......2007-06-08
The first song sets a note of determinedness with "Couldn't Be Done" followed by melodical "Still the Song" alas, too short, like many of George Harrison's own works. "Astounding Moon" is thought provoking as it looks up at the nighttime sky in wonder. These first three tracks really play as the heart and soul of this album until you get down to what the second half has to offer. "Salt to the Sea" is a melancholic kind of story where Tim Finn stops off to contemplate life, and a journey, until you get to hopeful "Horizon". Other keys to this CD are "Resting Your Hand Lightly", "Show Yourself" and of course "Winter Light", all of which carry musical harmony.
So there it is, just another overlooked album from 2006 that at least deserves a listen. And if you like it enough check out Finn's other CDs[...]. Tim Finn might not be a very prolific singer, but he is definitely not short of any brilliance as you will soon find out.
Enjoy.

Amazon Needs To Have 6 Stars Available.......2007-07-06
Good CD........2007-05-14
yet I believe the music in KH 2 has an edge over KH 1 because:
1. It has a lot more songs, even One-Winged Angel, whitch the KH 1 soundtrack lacks.
2. The music has more emotion in it. You can tell by the sound of almost every instrument that the song conveys something significant.
3. None of the songs annoy me(That means you, KH1 Gummy ship theme!)
4. And, most importantly, these songs take me to exactly where they are played. When Sacred Moon plays, I'm in TWTNW. When Desire For All That is Lost plays, I'm in the 1 fight that song is in.
5. Also, I'm glad its in Japanese, so I can't understand Passion. (Yay!)
I have one complaint though, why do the songs only play once, then stop?
On the KH1 soundtrack, the song repeats before it ends, making the song's last twice as long. Here, they just go once and thats it. Oh well, thats what the Repeat button is for.
Overall, this CD has allowed me to enjoy the music from one if the greatest games I've every heard whenever I want, so I award it the maximum rating of 5 stars. I hope KH3's music is as good (Or better) as this was.
Almost Perfect!!!!.......2007-04-04

When one thinks of musicals from Hollywood's golden age, the initials MGM come almost instantly to mind. Indeed when veteran song-and-dance man George M. Cohan was negotiating a film based on his colorful life story, his first choice was Metro--until a falling out with studio chief Louis B. Mayer. But L.B.'s loss eventually became Warner Brothers'--and film history's--gain when the Burbank studio's Cohan musical became a massive, patriotic hit in the opening months of World War II. As chronicled in this vibrantly restored, first-ever complete soundtrack for the film, it was a compelling twist of fate. James Cagney turns in one of the screen's most ostensibly unlikely--and ultimately indelible--musical performances (netting him his only Best Actor Oscar ®), teaming with studio music director Roy Heindorf to update Cohan's once-quaint turn-of the-century patriotic ditties ("You're a Grand Old Flag," "Over There," "Yankee Doodle Boy") and infectious vaudevillian chestnuts ("Give My Regards to Broadway," "Harrigan") with bracing dollops of the studio's '40s orchestral sass--and, just months after Pearl Harbor, some crucial historical parallels. Also included are four bonus tracks that remarkably survived the film's preproduction, including an outtake of "You Remind Me of My Mother" and voice-and-piano-only rehearsal versions of "Give My Regards to Broadway" and "You're a Grand Old Flag" that further underscore Cagney's deceptively effortless ability to sell a song despite his limited musical gifts. It's a long overdue showcase for a true American film musical gem. --Jerry McCulleyCustomer Reviews:

Amazing! Wonderful! Just buy it - you won't be sorry!.......2005-03-05
I am so very glad I bought this CD. I own the DVD of "Yankee Doodle Dandy" and watch it all the time, so I almost didn't buy this, wondering if I really needed yet another CD.
Well, thank God I didn't pay any attention to that dumb idea!
If you love "Yankee Doodle Dandy" and Cagney, you just have to buy this soundtrack. It's like being able to take the movie with you anywhere ... it's not just the songs - as others have said - but also includes bits of Cagney's voice-overs, even the tap-dancing from the end of "Little Johnny Jones." And since the audio system in my car is better than my TV's, it all seemed even bigger, richer and better. (George M. would love that!)
Wonderful, wonderful stuff!
What a find!!.......2003-06-15
Monumental effort must have gone into this soundtrack, given the age of the original recordings. The tracks here are crisp, clear, and bright, with no evidence of how long ago they were first put down. The editors were also generous in their inclusion of dialogue that ties some of the tracks together (for example, we hear the man tell Johny Jones to watch for the skyrocket, then we hear the skyrocket as it leads into "Give My Regards to Broadway"). There are a couple of places where the endings are slightly abrupt but this is because, in the movie, the music fades into extended dialogue.
The only bit of dialogue I expected to hear in a song, but didn't, is in "Over There" near the very end of the film, when Cagney/Cohan has fallen in step with the soldiers going off to WWII, as they're singing "Over There", when the soldier nearest him says something like, "What's wrong, old timer, don't know the words?" and Cagney says, "Seems to me I do" and starts singing along. That's minor and pales next to how wonderful the rest of this soundtrack is.
One of the biggest treats on this CD is that we get to hear some of Cagney's tapping, notably in "Give My Regards to Broadway", "You're a Grand Old Flag", and - one of my favorite moments in movie history - when he dances down the White House stairs to "Yankee Doodle" near the end).
The outtake is not a humorous one, simply a track they decided not to use. It and the rehearsal tracks are all just the performers voices with piano accompaniment. I especially enjoyed hearing Cagney rehearsing "You're a Grand Old Flag".
If you like Cagney, if you like Cohan's music, if you like movies "the way they used to make them", or if you're not ashamed to get a little choked up with patriotism once in a while, you will not be disappointed in this CD!

They've Still Got It!.......2007-06-07
Justin Hayward's semi-autobiographical 'Say it with Love' speaks very eloquently the message of love the Moodies have been preaching for four decades. 'Bless the Wings' is as pretty as anything Hayward has ever penned. This tale of separated lovers really speaks to the heart. 'Is this Heaven' is a catchy, sweet, love song with great harmonies. It sounds like it came from a simpler time- circa 50's or early 60's. I'm really not wanting to end Justin's review on a sour note but his song 'Say What You Mean' is the one track that I could have done without. I'll just simply state that nothing about it resonated with me on any level. But overall Hayward is as good a singer and lyricist as he's ever been.
Ray Thomas just shines with his simply stunning 'Celtic Sonant'. The lyrics and music are just gorgeous. The man's baritone voice is such a pleasure to listen to. His talents and contributions to the MB's are so underappreciated, IMO. We love and miss you Ray and wish you well.
I can always depend on my favorite Moody, John Lodge, to touch me emotionally or to just plain rock me. He does both on this album. His unique, almost ethereal voice is especially good on 'Magic'. The catchy, fast beat shows he can still rock it. In the chorus Lodge sings "baby work your magic on me". He's been doing that to me and countless other Lodgie lovers for decades now. The beautiful 'Lean On Me' is now a concert favorite of John's fans. It is one of my favorite ballads of his. I'm sure he was thinking of his long-time wife wheh he wrote this one. When he sings it live, his face is so animated with love and joy. The orchestration works very well for this song as well. The bittersweet 'Shadows On the Wall' sounds so very comforting somehow to my ears. I love the "airy" quality of his voice on this one. Yes, I'm biased when it comes to John Lodge. I readily and unashamedly admit it- lol!
I highly recommend 'Keys of the Kingdom'. To my heart and ears the Moody Blues are still great. I hope they bless us with many more years of their musical magic. I know this is is corny but I'm gonna say it anyway: I know to all their fans, the Moodies have had the 'Keys' to our hearts for years.
