The music and Malia's beautiful renditions in this her first album is superb! The selections reveal her versatility and range as a solist from the haunting strains of the Maui Waltz to Princess Likelike's best known composition "Ku'u Ipo I Ka He'e Pu'e One". Her voice blends in with the traditional strums of the ukulele. What stands out in my mind is how these songs come out of her upbringing as a child and the memories that were imprinted upon her life. This album truly reflects the depth of Hawaiian folklore that is being supplanted by new generation music. Once you hear Malia sing, you will appreciate how wonderfully talented she is.

For the fan of Hawaiian slack-key music..........2002-11-18

If you are a true fan of Hawaiian slack-key, you will most likely fall in love with the gentle melodies and falsetto singing of Ledward Kaapana. This is a very simple, true-to-the- music production....no drums, bass, or electric guitar, just simple arrangements in which the song is the thing. When I saw Ledward in concert a few years ago, I knew I had to buy this CD, and I bought it at the concert. He autographed it for me, and when I spoke with him, he was kind and thanked me for my interest. I lived in Hawaii long ago, and this CD brings back the easy pace, sweet-smelling leis, and sun-washed beaches. Aloha!

This Cd offers the familiar Christmas carols sung in the Hawaiian language. It makes for lovely listening. An excellent change from the many Chritmas albums that all sound alike.

I am enjoying this CD so much. My partner and I went to Hawaii a couple of years ago and this CD brings back all the wonderful memories we had together.

The harmonies are fantastic! Musicianship is great. My favorite song is their rendition of Sweet Someone and the way it flows from sultry to a 1920's style. My next favorite is My Kona Moon (I heard it on the radio!), I just love the way Sunnys voice ebbs like the tides in that one. My partners all time favorite is Aloha No Wau I Ko Maka the blend of cello, strings and voice gives her goosebumps! :)

Thank you for making such a beautiful collection of songs.

This CD just came in the mail today and I've been playing it all day. I recently got married in Hawaii and was told about this group. Unfortunately I looked in every store I could find and this CD wasn't available. Then someone told me that it was here on Amazon and I bought it. All I can say is WOW, this is hot music. The kind of music you want to hear when you're in Hawaii. Playing this CD brings my honeymoon back all over again!

Like others that posted, I can't wait for the next installment from this husband and wife team.

I am not sorry that I purchased this CD. It gave me everything that I expected and more. I think that the Country and Native American songs ad a unique flavor to the rest of the music. It isn't often that a group is brave enough to get out of the theme of the music to ad something a little different.

I'm delighted to have been directed to this group and look forward to hearing more from this talented duo.
