5 out of 5 stars Spellbound.......2004-01-31

"In Concert From Bucharest" is an amazing piece of musical artistry. Damian Draghici's fire and passion exude from his songs in a manner that reaches into the heart and soul of the listener, holds them captivated until the very end, and then leaves them longing for more. I find this to be the most moving and compelling performance given by The Virtuoso, to date. I give it my highest recommendation.

5 out of 5 stars i want more damian music!.......2002-09-24

dear damian,
i am a huge fan of yours and have been for the last few years. i have some of your european albums and your american ones too! i personally love this new one "damian in concert from bucharest"! not only do i love the instrument but i also love the music. the whole production was spectacular and very impressive. i think that your new music will give the general american public a new way of listening to world and other cultural music. you make it possible for the average ear to enjoy beautiful music. it is very different from your previous albums but it is just as spectacular. i hope the whole world will hear you and appreciate you for your talent and your concern that the world will understand your musical culture. i am waiting for some more of your music so please start something soon before i wear out my latest cd from you.
sincerely, heather

1 out of 5 stars Not the true Damian.......2002-09-20

Damian Draghici is probably the world's greatest panflutist, and the true heir to Georg Zamfir. Listen to his early recordings, where the true Gypsy feeling, emotion and artisty prove this. It is sad - no, it's tragic - that this is the turn his career has taken. He is an extraordinary artist who has clearly been given disastrous career advice. Someone must have suggested he create a "Gypsy Riverdance" and this syrupy, ordinary effort is the result. It doesn't even showcase his talent. What's next, "Live From Red Rocks?" Don't buy this - do your ears and soul a favor and buy "Romanian Gypsy Pan Flute Virtuoso". I also heard him on the klezmer cd, "Garden of Yidn", and I am still haunted by it. Oh, well... if this pop bull helps to popularize Gypsy music, that deserves the star. But this music? No way.

5 out of 5 stars great new artist.......2002-09-11

my name is debbie and i just heard about this cd from a girlfriend of mine and she couldnt stop raving about it so i just picked it up last night. i really love it! i wanted to see if he had anymore cd's out too but i decided to write a review first. i love the music and the sound of the flute so much. the singer has an amazing angelic voice and the whole ensemble of musicians are really special. i have never heard any music like it before. i love the ethnic influences and the orchestra and choir that make such a unique sound. i will look for more of his cd's too. honestly i would buy it if you like fantastic music with fantastic musicians. i want to see the dvd too because damian is so... i hope you all enjoy it as much as i did.

5 out of 5 stars there is nothing like it.......2002-09-06

damian i hope that you read this because i want you to know that you have made the most beautiful music i have ever heard. there really isnt anything like it anywhere. i cant believe how you have made so many different styles of music blend so beautifully together. i just ordered the dvd and i already have the cd. i have been looking for some other cd's you have done and i hope that you will be doing some touring soon because i will be the first to buy a ticket. thank you for your beautiful music and i wish you much success in the future
