Two of their greatest LPs on one CD........2006-08-18
By the time of these two albums' release (1978 and'79) The O'Jays were R&B's most successful vocal group. "So Full Of Love" included the timeless masterpieces "Use Ta Be My Girl", "Brandy", "This Time Baby" and "Cry Together" while "Identify Yourself" spawned the gorgeous ballads "Forever Mine" and "Hurry Up and Come Back". Both albums became million-sellers and remain highlights of late-1970s R&B.
Collector's dream.......2006-03-02
Two of the O'jays best on one CD. These songs will stand the test of time. I can not tell you how many times I have played this CD. Too numerous to count. One of the best R&B groups of the 70's and 80's and still around doing their thing. O'jays forever.

A mostly good album but..........2007-06-12
"Identify Yourself" was The O'Jays' final release of the 1970s and featured four ballads and four hard-hitting Disco tracks. The gorgeous ballads "Forever Mine", "I Want You Here With Me" and the gloriously anguished "Hurry Up And Come Back" are all classic O'Jays ballads which make this CD worth buying but only "Sing A Happy Song" merits the same recognition (in terms of musical quality) among the dance tracks.

Neve is a great band.......2001-01-05
Neve is a great band with a lot of energy on the cd and live. Every part to each song (drums, vocals, guitar, bass) is great, and it all blends well together, 13 great songs from an awesome band. I highly recommend this CD to anybody looking for a new cool cd.

Customer Reviews:
Three superb albums on two CDs from The O'Jays' most prolific period........2007-06-30
The three LPs reissued on this CD were all million-sellers and remain among The O'Jays' most pivotal releases. All three albums contain soulful ballads and uptempo Disco tracks as performed by one of R&B's greatest groups. All-time classics like "Message In Our Music"{, "Darlin' Darlin' Baby", "Forever Mine", "We're All In This Thing Together" and "Work On Me" are supreme examples of how great the musical marriage of The O'Jays and Kenneth Gamble and Leon Huff's Philadelphia International label was.
Music with substance.......2004-05-26
The Message in our music CD reflects music that you can actually get something out of. It should be considered a model for todays artists.
They Don't Make 'em Like This Anymore.......2002-05-05
Socially conscious, historically in-tuned, and, (ahem) REAL INSTRUMENTS AND HARMONIC VOCALS! Nobody--and I mean NOBODY--did it better than the O'Jays. The album title and cover lets everyone know what music meant to the inner city people of the 70s and where exactly we got our intense love of music. Where did the 70s go? WHY did the 70s go? What happened to my Schwinn Stingray bicycle with the banana-shaped sparkle-flake seat? (sigh). Peace to all the children of the 70s, wherever you are!
classic album.......2000-11-18
Message in the Music what a great song. The O'Jays are something else.there music is timeless.there hasn't been a Group like them since.so much Soul&emotion just comes through here.this is very essential.you don't hear Voices&Music like this today.
One who loves good soul music.......2000-08-12
This CD compilation is a rarity. It has Messsages that are positive and it is good music. My favorite track is "I want you here with me" This song and others are one of the reasons why I bought it.Second of all it is classic and timeless soul music that can hold it's own aginst any R&B song of today. Not even Boys2Men can make people get up and dance like the O'Jays music still does.By the way my age is 29. And i prefer Classic R&B over what is out now.
