Customer Reviews:
A very, very, very bad album.......2001-05-16
Messina's composing ability is almost as weak as his unsupported and whisper-thin falsetto singing voice and his tinkering behind the piano is alternately tentative and ham fisted. His lyrics have all the depth of an overwrought Dawson's Creek fan's diary entries. His orchestra could be called second rate but this would be unfair as they clearly suffer from the material they have to work with. The only bright point are the flamenco guitarists who are quite talented and quite obviously working independently of Messina's influence, and as such only serve to remind you how very terrible the rest of the album is....
Excellent.......2001-04-13
The first 3 songs are okay, but the title track is amazing. It completely guts you.
The song Lovely Day When You're Around makes anyone feel good. So lucky whoever he wrote that for.
The last track called Thankyou is the entire reason I bought this album. It is a beautiful testament to his friends and it brings tears to my eyes most times I listen to it.
I love this album. Especially the treat on the inside!
