Exhilarating.......2003-05-15

Not really like Krishna Das, which is what I was expecting, but this is something in a class by itself. If you study sanskrit, you can hear distinct pronounciations and stresses on different consonants and vowels. Or you can just let the music play through you. You can really hear devotion in her heart and in the words of the songs. Very "Indian" with traditional instruments playing in the background. It was nice to hear sitar and harmonium solos inbetween the phrases and measures. I would highly recommend this to anyone who wants more for their kirtan. And it is a 2 cd set. You can't beat that for the price!

This is a wonderful cd!! Listening to it sent me into a beautiful space that i could have stayed forever. There is a real spiritual feeling with the music.

Gauri's voice, as I tell everyone, is incredible and she 'rips it up' on this CD. And the best part about it is that you get two CD's for your listening pleasure. The songs resonate in my head all day long and I can't help but sing them everywhere I go, so much so that people on the street look at me in wonder, as I try to match the beauty of Gauri's devotion on the subway car and in the hallways of my school. I can't help but get all blissed out, even on the number 7 train into Manhatten. The track Gurudev Gurudev rocks!

If you like beautiful sweeping melodies, this cd is for you. Lush without being too cheesy, a great backdrop for massage or yoga.
