I decided to buy all of 883's cds after falling in love with Uno In Piu (1 in +) last spring! La Dura Legge del Gol is only the second one I've listened too and it does not dissapoint! 883 cleary has a signature sound that's upbeat, happy, and musically infectious. I stand by my original assertion that you don't need to know Italian to love the great rythms and musical talent of this group. This CD is just plain fun, and there are also some great slow songs as well.

A rock masterpiece. 5 stars aren't enough!.......2001-01-01

Hopefully I won't lose all my credibility by raving incoherently about how great this CD is, but I probably can't help it. It features 883's trademark intoxicating sound, a driving mix of percussion, guitars and Max's vocals. It's a sound that's guaranteed to lift your spirits, even if you don't understand a word of Italian. (fortunately the sleeve contains the lyrics, but they're just icing on the cake.) There's a soccer theme to the sleeve which is relevant to the title track "La dura legge del gol," a super song which has an unbelievable chorus consisting of thousands of singing fans. Trust me. It works. Pure magic! I should note that this CD is a reissue of a CD they first released in 1997. It is a real bargain because it contains 6 bonus tracks --"remixes"-- after the original 10 songs. One of these in particular really stands out --La regola dell'amico." It features the original version, slightly speeded up with a rocking organ added. Awesome! There are even a couple of ballads on this CD, including the absolutely beautiful "Andra tutto bene." You can see that the CD is full of gems. Hard as it would be to choose a favorite, I think "Un giorno cosi" would be mine. It's a rocking celebration of the simple pleasures of life, like riding one's motorcycle. This is the genius of 883 --taking life's simple pleasures and making them into art --through the magic of rock. BRAVO 883!!
