About the Artist
Osvaldo Requena is a pianist, composer and director of great recognition within the tango, and next to Leopoldo Federico it has made during decades compositions to pair, that registers in this memorable CD "Coincidences", with the participation of selecting of the best musicians of tango of Argentina.

He also conducted the Orquesta Folclórica Municipal (1982-1983), the Orquesta Nacional de Música Argentina Juan de Dios Filiberto (1983-1991) and the Symphonic Orchestras of Tucumán, Córdoba, Entre Ríos, Buenos Aires, Granada (Spain), the Asociación Verdiana de Paraná and of the choir Coro Manuel De Falla of the city of Granada.

In August 1986 he created the ensemble Tango Sessions with which he toured cities of Argentina, America, Asia, Europe, Africa and Oceania. This ensemble participated in numerous festivals among them the Adelaide Festival (Australia - 1990) the New Zealand International Festival (1990), the Festival Homenaje a García Lorca in Granada (1998) and the Cumbre de Tango in Portugal (1999) He was producer and manager of the record label Global Records (Japan), recording with the orchestras of Entre Ríos and Santa Fe an album later awarded in Germany.

He has also released three albums with the Orquesta del Festival de Granada and several others in Japan. His latest CD was recorded in 2001 and all the pieces were composed by Osvaldo Requena and Leopoldo Federico. Since 1991, Osvaldo Requena is member of the artistic commission of S.A.D.A.I.C. and since 2000 he is a faculty member of the Conservatorio de Música Popular de la Ciudad de Avellaneda.
