Editorial Reviews
The musical and environmental recordings of David Blonski offer an enchanting view of nature and the multicultural diversity of the world. By layering and orchestrating the multitude of instruments he plays, David creates a unique sonic tapestry unlike any other. In addition to his musical interpretations of the peaceful and joyful moods evoked by the natural wonders of our planet, David also tries to celebrate our rich multi-cultural diversity.
As with most musicians David heard "the calling" at a very young age. He began singing in his elementary school chorus and church choir. In junior high school he played clarinet, bass clarinet and oboe in the school band. When David entered high school and college he turned his attention towards the sciences where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Marine Biology. Outside of class, he learned to play guitar but it wasn't until his later college years that he would pick up the flute, by happy accident, and begin his current love affair with music.
Harpist, Anne Roos of Lake Tahoe, California is the other featured artist on this recording. She performs regulary at restraunts and weddings all around the lake.
Product Description
This recording of serenely elegant music features the artistry of David Blonski and Anne Roos. Their gentle flute and harp duets speak of the mystery of the East and the peace that can be found in quiet contemplation. Themes inspired by both the oriental and mid-eastern cultures and philosophies are exquisitely expressed in this sublimely delicate recording. Perfect music for relaxation, massage, yoga, tai chi, and creative activities.

Do you have an imagination? .......2005-04-12
Track 10, "Celestial Blanket" is one of my favorites from this disk. It is very easy to close your eyes and imagine that you are outdoors on warm summer's night, perhaps laying on the ground and looking up at the sky. Hear the owl, the frogs and the crickets. Do you SEE the "blanket" of the stars covering the "bed" of the world? Do you FEEL the vast immensity of the canopy of the sky, and perhaps, just perhaps, relize that we are on a tiny ball in the vastness of space? I do and all the nighttime sounds say that the animals do. The bells at the end tell me that God is in His heaven and everything is right with the world. What a wonderfully marvelous way to end the day!
This album was great........1999-05-04

Album Description
In 1983, Patrick Ball released the first record in his Celtic Harp series. Now, ten years and five releases later, he has completed his most personal work to date. Fiona is a collection of traditional songs that includes some of the most beautiful and haunting tunes of the Celtic world - and is named after Patrick Ball's new daughter, Fiona. For many years, the Celtic harp, with its unique resonance and clear, bell-like sound was an important part of Celtic life, especially in Ireland and in France's Celtic province, Brittany. The few harps which survived into the 20th century, did so as museum pieces, and their incredibly large and varied repertoire began to sink into obscurity, too. Naturally, as musicians and listeners have rediscovered the beauty of these instruments, the old songs and laments have been rediscovered as well.
On Fiona, Ball includes two of Ireland's most enduring and memorable folk songs: She Moved Through the Fair, an oft recorded classic which can now finally be heard in its original form, and Brian Boru's March, an ancient tune marking the brief unification of Ireland in the 11th century. Traditional songs from Scotland and Brittany also appear, along with a work by Turlough O'Carolan, whose popular music has been a feature of each of Patrick Ball's six recordings for Celestial Harmonies/Fortuna. Ball's wire-strung harp is the focus of this recording, but the traditional Irish pipes, whistles, and fiddle provide an occasional complement on several pieces.

Amazon.com essential recording
Bartók's Mikrokosmos ("Little World") essentially comprises 153 teaching pieces, divided into six books of progressive difficulty. These works make ideal vehicles for budding piano students who are ready to face the myriad challenges of 20th-century keyboard music. They also reveal the kernels of the Hungarian composer's uncompromising compositional style. György Sándor was a piano pupil of Bartók's, and his fluid, perceptive playing is unfailingly idiomatic, from the simple, canon-like exercises at the start to the demanding Six Dances in Bulgarian Rhythm that crown the cycle. The mono engineering is thin but acceptable. Suffice it to say that the composer would have been proud of what his pupil achieves here. --Jed DistlerCustomer Reviews:
The slender difference that makes the great difference!.......2006-09-29
Without another intention in mind, but intending to illustrate and motive the newcomer listener, I would say that in just few counted occasions (Richter and Prokoviev, Ravel and Cortot) there has been such chemical rapport between composer and performer.
At least in my case, I have not heard about any other pianist able to sound so sarcastic, reverberating and genuinely Hungarian as Gyorgy Sandor did it.
So I really hope you to keep in mind all these previous considerations at the moment to make this wise choice. Go for this record without any shadow of doubt.
This album is now part of the mythic legend of the treasures for keyboard.
No other pianist will sound so astonishingly as Sandor does.

Album Description
Through the Mist:Nature as the Door;
Mist on our porch screen gives view to nearby trees and hint of mountains beyond. All beautiful in itself but also a door to inner spaces and to comforting spirit's glow. Healing love brings us to our true self ...
The entire album is a single event, but each piece, Throught the Mist, Ice Mountain, and Glenalyce, and its individual tracks may be enjoyed on its own. Throught the Mist is a full symphony. Ice Mountain may be considered a suite, and Glenalyce was my wife's family's summer retreat. We spent many happy years visiting Grandma there. This album's cover was a misty day's view from the porch.
With Nature, so familiar and so loved, as the door, this music is an inner journey to life's sacred goal. Full of orchestral sounds, familiar but new, this album explores the limits and subtlties of electronic music with a message of spiritual hope for our age.
Listeners' comments include; Wow ... Profound ... If everyone in the world heard this music, crime would be extinguished ...
