House Music All Night Long (Say What?).......2004-12-31

The third installment in the Best Of House Music series features yet more twists and turns. This time Detroit is invited in. One of the most recognizable tracks at the time was included on this compilation-and rightfully so: "Strings of Life". And, of course you can't have Rhythm is Rhythm on the album without the other breakout sensation, Inner City: "Good Life was getting much airplay on Chicago radio, especially on the college stations. The included version of "Rock To The Beat" by Reese has that original Detroit Techno feel to it--before everything got 'distorted'. New York, New Jersey and Chicago influences are still evident, and there is even some representation another adopted home of House, London. "Voodoo Ray" is another track that stands the test of time because it's just that dancable!

This is a trip down memory lane that is just as enjoyable as the other two. You can't go wrong with this album...House Music All Night Long!

The tragedy that is censorship ruins a great CD.......2005-09-14

Before you plop down a load of money on this out-of-print disc, be warned. I had a priority records LP from back in the 80s that had many of these songs on it, in their full 12" versions, just like this disc. I was thinking I'd finally have them on CD thanks to Priority releasing them on disc...but I get to The Real Roxanne, and there's a blaring BEEP where she usually uses a swear word...which happens twice in the song! What a disappointment. Is this track every going to show up on CD uncensored? Track times:

This CD is scarce since it is out of print and contains easy to find songs like ''Soldier of Love'' by Donny Osmond, ''Church of the Poisoned Mind'' by Boy George and ''Lies'' by Thompson Twins as well as songs that I've never heard before and other people have never heard like ''Wake Up (Next to You),'' ''Driven Out'' and ''It Must Be Love.''

Not what it says it is.......2006-09-12

This CD is not the best of 80's metal. It seems to me that they were trying to make a 3 CD set, so they threw this last one together. Ted Nugent and Billy Squier are rock, but NOT metal. Some of the other groups on here are not @ the top of most peoples' lists when it comes to 80's metal (ergo. XYZ, LA Guns, & White Lion). The best song here is the Scorpions "No One Like You." They are a band that actually deserves to be on a best of 80's metal compilation. I'm not impressed with this track list and I don't recommend buying this. The other 2 volumes of this series are worth having, but this is not.

80's metal collection with BILLY SQUIRE? guess we'll be seeing a new one soon with celine dion...she did sing ac/dc's you shook me all night long(guess she's metal also).

Best of the what ?.......2002-12-12

This a far cry from what the 80's were about and a fantasy for the artists on this album hoping that they were the best of what the 80's had to offer. The CD features Cinderella w/ "Dont know what you got" This was a good song for Cinderella, a nice ballad from an era where ballads sold the album. Play music that you love to play and hope the fans love it as well. Dont write a song based on the a certain demand or for a certain demographic. 80'S metal was about Van Halen, Motley Crue, Ronnie James Dio, Ozzy, Ratt, Bon Jovi, Def Leppard, and to not mention AC/DC would be just wrong as was who ever came up with the idea to do a best of 80's cd without the above artists on it.
