A "must" for Greek music lovers.......2006-02-12

The songs contained in this compilation provoque the deepest emotions you can experience, specially when you are familiar with the life and fate of Manos Loizos.
I am not Greek. Nevertheless, these songs, their melodies and lyrics, were such strong motivators that I decided for a trip to Greece, just to visit Loizos' grave. After looking for it in the Athens cemetery for many hours, I found a simple rock with the inscription "Manos Loizos". A tribute as simple, strong and real as his life and work.

the way his voice sounds in Sinbad the sailor is probably his best portrait. Bittersweet and not hallow, sencitive and not dramatic,tender but still the voice of a man. He was just like that. A sweet man, a friend for a life time, a man to fell in love with. A poet of life. Often indulging in various pleasures, such as cigarettes, deep feelings, still he take up painful adventures like, personal relations and songs
He was young when he died. His songs were left behind at the tip of the tongue, and in our hearts. This compilation covers all the kinds of songs he composed (folk, political, art and sensitive songs) and is more of a souvenir de coeur.
