3 out of 5 stars Not Bad, very expensive , usually buy from overseas.......2007-08-04

the reason i said ;not bad is i own a lot of far eastern movies ,music,
etc. form asia ;korea, japan, china, spent 3 years living there in the mid 70's and mid 80's will be moving there hopefully for good in about 2 years ,Faye has a really good voice ,ahhh,But that is where it stops ,she needs to be more open with her fans ,refusing do an english vocal album ,never performing here, even though she did live here a while in N.Y. in the 90's
doesn't help her P.R. image either. she is dry as 3 bones as an actress (thank god for Zhang Ziyi and the Great Gong Li) wish they could sing !!! ;-0 But yes faye does sing well in cantonese and mandarin ,the song from FF VIII is in all honesty what got a lot of U.S. fans involved in her music ,i personally prefer Angela Aki,for her music style ,But that's another story ,if you like haunting ,beautiful chinese music sang very well buy it ,if you want a talented artist doing different music from all over ,NOPE...

The same CD is selling under $14 at yesasia.com. Is it version printed in gold?

5 out of 5 stars More Faye Wong.......2003-03-14

You just can't get enough of Faye Wong!!
She really has the voice of an angel.
She's very different from many western singers who often associate being able to scream or bellow as being talented.
Faye Wong has a very unique high, soft pitch voice. Her voice is truly amazing. I love how she portrays her songs, but when it comes down to it, it has to be the voice. I know I'm being redudant, but man, her voice: it's crystal clear, soft, high and purely magnificient.
What makes Faye Wong unique is not only her voice, but that she really does sing around an octave or so higher than the average female American singer, and this really gives an unique twist to her songs.

5 out of 5 stars 4 years of efforts.......2002-08-01

forget about the fame of faye wong.her music is something that it grows in your ear and mind.rumor is saying that she's not going to continue work with EMI records.this is the summary of her efforts from 1997 to 2001.the albumn is great, but there're some nice songs were not included in the albumn,so i can't say this is the best collection.if you don't understand chinese, her albumn "Fable" is recommended as my partner loves that albumn so dearly even he cannot understand the lyrics,it is the music that really attracts him.for the people who never heard faye wong's music then this is a nice record to begin with, then you'll try the different albumns later on,as each of her albumn is quite different.you'll be amazed.
