Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Wonderful music.......2005-09-06

Hello,

I wasn't familier with Larcange's vinyls before nor his music but I do own some albums/collections of music that are neary the same sound and atmosphere like this one.

I am a fan of accordion music and looking for such kind of music whenever I can.

This album (or should I say 2 albums) is a very realxed, calm, moving music; the orchestra adds a very special, flowing touch to the accordionist.

There is also the chorus that gives another level of athmosphere to the music. There is no singing but only changing levels ("hums") of all singers - a well known background singing in those days. Great !

I would recommend anyone who like that kind of music to buy and enjoy this CD. Put it in your cd player, press play, pour yourself a cup of something :) and let the music surround you...

Omer.

5 out of 5 stars Music or poetry?.......2005-04-15

Those days of my vanished youth in the last seventies, I bought both albums in vynil format and I enjoyed every track.

I have been waiting almost twenty years for this release, and at last the moment has come.

Let me put you on this way. The album is fundamental set of the best songs of both composers, and Larcange's mood is essentialy adequate and sublime.

You will have one thousand opportunities for rejoin with the life and enjoy with your beloved couple or a happy meeting with your closer friends listening over and over again this legendary album.

Do not ever miss it. It's pure gold!

5 out of 5 stars WONDERFUL!.......2005-04-14

This CD with 2 Lps of the glorius Phase 4 sound, the magnificent accordion of M. Larcange, the orchestras and the arragements are the best of the best!
I really love the music of Mr. Larcange that he recorded with Decca (I have some others CDs and is abolutely different). The taste, fine, and sound of these two LPs is not comparable only with the rest of the music of London Phase 4.
The french music are well represented by this man.
Thanks to Vocalion. (Ah, there are more LPs of the vintage waiting to translate to CD...)
