Eclectic electronic album with an authentic latin flavor. A must have item. Highly recomended if u can get one.

Transition between Soda and Solo. Excellent!.......2005-10-11

First of all Melero is where Cerati first got interested in what now is his signature electronic / rock sound. This is a great album. There are some repeats of different versions, but a must have. * Marea De Venus rattles of Argentine girls' names and what really goes on at night, ** Quatro is a "techno "if you will song. Primitive due to the time period, but you could work out to it, and *** La Cuerda Planetaria has Melero singing. A must have if you are a true Cerati / Soda fan. Great guitar work and Cerati's voice is clear & strong. Think Amor Amarillo with beats & loops. The great thing about Cerati is he can work with different artists / genres and it's always a classic. Excellent Compilation.......2007-01-04

Carlos Gardel was the most acclaimed tango singer during the first quarter of 20th century. His voice was so musical, expressive and charming that every recording he made of tango music is considered definitve even nowadays.

This compilation brings some not-so-well-known tangos brought to real life by the master process of nimbus records, this company had performed excellent restorations of early opera singers such as caruso and amelita galli curci among others.

A must for anyone with interest in tango music and especially for gardel aficionados who will find more detailed ambience and subleties from gardel guitarrists. A real jewel.

Ok espere mucho tiempo para adquirir este album y de echo estoy contento de que lo consegui, tarde es mejor que nunca, realmente es muy buen album y con un sonido y tendencia que realmente salio a la luz despues de unos anos adelante, realmente Cerati en compania de Melero demuestra una vez mas su gran talento , innovacion, aventura, experimentacion y buen gusto para componer, a los fanaticos de Cerati no dudes mas pues este album tambien para ti en tu collecion y no defrauda, los remixes no ofrecen mucho pero el contenido original es muy bueno, me gustaron mucho Cozumel,Quatro,tu medicina y Colores santos sin dejar de lado por supuesto a los otros Tracks, no esperes mas compralo!

Sweet downtempo work from Argentina ahead of its time.......2003-04-14

From the guts of Argentina in a time when the world wasn't even ready for it, Soda Stereo frontman Gustavo Cerati and longtime collaborator Daniel Meleros teamed up to create this beautiful downtempo masterpiece, aptly titled "Colores Santos" (Saint Colors). Like a painter's pallette, Cerati and Meleros, paint on a canvas without much regard for the standard musical forms at the time: remember this album was first released in 1992. At times during the album I think this is how a John Lennon work would have sounded in the nineties, if he were still with us...

My two favorite tracks (not taking anything away from the rest of the album), "Alborada" and "Vuelta por el universo". A nice couple of companion CDs to go with it: Cerati's own "Amor Amarillo", his first solo work altogether (recorded while he was still with Soda Stereo) and "Bocanada", his first album after the band broke up. And if you want to hear what Soda Stereo was about, grab a copy of "Dynamo", "Cancion Animal" or any of their live albums. You will thank me for it! ;)

Cerati: El maestro del rock en espanol!.......2003-01-27

Colores Santos y Amor Amarillo son dos albums increibles. Como el compatriota Venezolano dice en otra resena, Cerati le lleva muchisima ventaja a los demas musicos de rock latino americanos. Su musica es super avanzada, esta bien compuesta, es compleja, variada, etc. Que mas puedo decir, pocos roqueros en espanol estan a la talla de Gustavo Cerati. Este album, poco conocido entre las demas de sus obras , para ser del ano 93, parece mas bien del 2002. Si lo sacan de nuevo, se venderia como pan caliente.

Not "Remastered" - needs to change listing.......2002-10-30

This is a good enough CD, but it is not what is advertised. It is not remastered at all. In fact, this is just a re-release of the Cerati-Melero "Colores Santos (remixes)" CD, which has already been on the market for years. Don't be fooled or pay high import prices since this is not the original CD.

Adelantado a su época.......2002-10-29

Sin importar lo que estuviera ocurriendo en el rock en español en 1994--en Latinoamérica estancado, y en España lleno de copiones, como siempre-- Cerati y Melero crean 'Colores Santos', un disco donde encontramos elementos que casi una década después hacen famosos a gente como Moby. Mezclando rock con tintes ambientales, dance y por ahí cosas acústicas, Cerati asoma tendencias que adoptaría de lleno en Amor Amarillo y Bocanada. Por sí mismo, un disco adelantado a su época, influyente y por añadidura, requisito para los amantes de Cerati, del rock en español y quienes desean estar al tanto de las corrientes musicales. Vale la pena. No le puse cinco estrellas porque los remixes no le agregan mucho, solo trae 3 y dos de ellos son de la misma canción, y no me parece que sea el mejor trabajo de Cerati, pero canciones como Cozumel, Vuelta por el universo o Colores Santos son verdaderas obras maestras. Cómprenlo.

Argentina Santos - a fadista of rare quality.......2005-10-10

There is something soulful, seductive and deeply moving about this recording. Argentina Santos belongs to Amalia's generation. She never sought the professional life. The cover photo is revealing: it shows a genuinely warm personality, devoid of glamour but filled with emotion. Her voice is timeless. I defy any fado lover to listen to this record and not fall in love with Argentina. We are fortunate to have this record of her remarkable voice and her truly distinctive style. The supporting musicians are among the best I have heard. To my knowledge it is the only compilation of her art.
No question, it belongs up there with Amalia. You will not be disappointed with this one.

"Os Meus Passos" e "Quadras Soltas" sao definitivamente as faixas preferidas, mas nao me canso de escutar esta grande senhora do Fado. Uma voz inconfundivel e interpretacao magnifica que nos fazem ficar em silencio e segui-la pelas cordas das guitarras. O mais puro "Fado" do coracao de Lisboa, este CD nao pode faltar na discoteca de quem aprecia este genero de musica.
