5 out of 5 stars Killarmy - Silent Weapons For Quiet Wars.......2006-08-31

Killarmy's first album, that came out in 1997. This is probably theyre best album in quite a few ways, lyrics AND production. But let me explain.

In lyrics, Killarmy is DOPE. They never dissapoint me with the lyrics they drop at all. Each member from Killarmy is unique in the way they write/rhyme and drop it. If you like lyrics in hip-hop, dont pass this album up. I cant really pick a song where they stand out lyrically, because they do in all of them!

Production, straight dope. All Wu related production also, which is a good thing. This album is grimey also. Fans of that type of hiphop should love this album for sure. My favorite beat on the album is probably, "Wake Up". Dope song.

Overall, if your a Wu fan, youll like this album, well you should! But its the first cd from Killarmy as a group, so make sure to get this one first! You wont be dissapointed!

5 out of 5 stars A MASTERPIECE.......2005-10-27

Killarmy's first album is one of the best produced albums of all time. Its is lyrically sharp and dungeon as can be.I purchased this when it first came out and thought that it was a pretty solid effort.I had no idea that this album would grow on me the way it did.The night I changed my mind on how I thought of this album was the night I sat in the dark and listened to this album on a monster system.I have since practiced this sitting in the dark ritual many times on my favorite albums. Its the best way to listen to music. This album deserves to be recognized as one of the greats but it never will.To many wack cats dominating the radio.I have a felling that this hip hop faze is about over and mainstream america will start listening to something else. When this happens albums like this can be made again.Groups can make their vision shine all the way through an album instead of a couple of wack tracks for the radio and then a bunch of second rate tracks to fill in the gaps. This album is all blazes with no filler.Cop it.If you dont like it at first......IT WILL GROW ON YA.

5 out of 5 stars What HipHop should be........2005-10-03

This is a really great ablum from a classic era of hiphop, the focus is all on creating the brutal evocative soundscapes. Combat Rap. I've listened to this album at least once a week since the day I got it over ten years ago. But then again I care about hiphop.

5 out of 5 stars The Gods Are Here........2005-07-26

How do you know a album is dope listen to it constantly while elevating your mind, then have to quit elevating for 4 years come back home and it still seizes your mind.

5 out of 5 stars All Out War.......2005-02-17

Killarmy (pronounced Killer Army) a spin-off from Wu-Tang Clan with a more military mentality as the six man crew's debut album's title Silent Weapons For Quiet Wars may depict. Fifteen of the seventeen tracks were produced by 4th Disciple whom created a signature sound for the group to make a mark of originality. Lead title "Dress To Kill" chorus "...Grab your army suits / and your phat black boots / military gear, and go out like troops..." is the direction for the entire LP. Some of the sample found "Clash Of The Titans" featuring Street Life resembles a Wu tune as four of the six members spit rapid street knowledge with a third world aspect to it. The off beat piano and flows stood out for "Seems It Never Fails" is an acquired sound that highlights the album. The slow, eerie track "Universal Soldiers" added to the sharp flow of the Army. Knowledge and awakening the minds of the listeners was the aim of this RZA produced track "Wake Up" featuring Hell Razah & Prodigal Sunn. "Wu-Renegades" is a mixture of genres to create a classic East Coast hip-hop feel with violins, bass and piano chords, but the five emcees blessed the instrumental that have to be repeated to fully understand the complexity of the lyrics. Taken dialect from war movies as the hook and or bridge, "Under Siege" stands strong with an oriental off-beat feel. The other RZA produced track "War Face" as said by 9th Prince "...we run trains on RZA produced tracks..." "5 Stars" featuring Masta Killa is a good song but some of the special effects and sounds overshadow the volume of the voices of each emcee's lyrics. This album is definitely a sleeper and Killarmy maybe should have simply named this album Riot.

5 out of 5 stars Superlative adjectives abound.......2004-10-20

I consider this album--along with their earlier release--part of my essential collection. Not just because I grew up listening to them and they represent a pinnacle of the San Deigo local music scene--but because they simply rock. All at once sublime, sinister, hilarious and insanely technical. Track #9 features a vocal track played backwards over a mellow grove and then explodes into a hard thrash and then to a infectuous jazzy melody all flowing together seamlessly-- surprisingly very listenable considering all the changes and odd timings. These guys were WAY ahead of their time (and still are) check them out you won't be sorry

5 out of 5 stars Yes sir... It be tight, yo........2002-06-01

Ok. Many Creedle reviews really don't do them justice; they're either bland, thoughtless, or discrediting. Creedle are much more than that. They infuse syncopated rhythms with unparalled polystructured professionalism. Their timing is extremely precise- to the point of mechanical nonchalance- and yet tremendously confusing at the same time. With their lead singer, the band takes an aggresive grunge/ alternative stance while Creedle's brilliant rhythm backbone elaborate upon the confusion being thrust from the main throat. By all means, Creedle is one of the best (if not "the" best) underground factions of troubadours California has ever birthed. It's a shame not all bands are blessed with such musicianship.

5 out of 5 stars Should be 10 stars out of 5.......2000-07-16

Giant swirling punk/funk opuses with samples and licks that'll make you wanna cry. Sounds like what Mr. Bungle would sound like if Beethoven wrote their songs.

4 out of 5 stars the next big thing from detroit?.......1999-10-13

L.A. claims to be from detroit, and from the industrial strength guitars and samples blasting like a factory of sound and atmosphere, i believe it. This is the biggest, little album i`ve heard all year. My faves are, "Death by pain, Worlds in collision, 24 hrs. in hell, and Blind incision". The songs move in many directions, but all retain the same dark ambiance. Hats off for a great production. Very highly recomended.

Lab Animals blend incredible beats with strangely fantastic synths. It is a must have for any fan of cool, original music!
