5 out of 5 stars This is great!!!.......2007-03-13

All the songs are great on this!!!! I would defintely recommend this to people!!!!! I think this is a awesome greatest hits!!! I have all Limp Bizkit's CDs and would recommend them to anyone who likes metal (yes nu-metal is metal) and anyone who just likes having fun, because honestly there are not that many bands out there that are fun like these guys!!! 1 question for all the people who hate this band, why if you hate Limp bizkit so much would you take the time to review their CDs? People call Limp Bizkit fans idiots, but I think its a lot of Limp Bizkit haters who are idiots, who can't have a little fun! I don't think even think a lot of them hate Limp Bizkit, they just don't want to be "uncool" and like Limp Bizkit. Don't listen to people's stupid biased opinions, buy Limp Bizkit CDs!!

3 out of 5 stars The new songs suck.......2007-02-15

Was Fred Durst a great lyricist and vocalist? Nope. Was Wes Borland an innovative guitar player? Not even close. But for fifteen minutes sometime in the 90's, we were all picking up what they we're putting down, and we loved every minute of it. There are only one or two good songs on each Limp Bizkit album anyway, so now you can have them all on one disc. The new songs suck.

1 out of 5 stars Them bizkit'z aren't the only thing thats limp.......2007-02-10

This band sucks. Always did, always will. Fred Durst and Vanilla ice have a lot in common, if you know what I mean. And spelling hits with a z instead of an s shows just how phoney these retards are. Listen to this for laughs or to induce vomiting. Depending on what affects you're after.

1 out of 5 stars IMITATION METAL 0/5 stars.......2006-12-28

Im just glad this imitational metal fad band is finished fred lived the lavish life for several years and now most of us exfans went our separate ways and found are true taste in real metal. Why did fred released a greatist hits cd? they were never any good and spelling hits improperly with a Z at the end is just stupid childish and laughable. Not only is this cd a pathetic worthless joke but fred had added songs that didn't even belong to him on his own greatist hits album which he should be adding only his own songs that he wrote not other peoples songs. now thats just saying he's taking credit for other peoples songs and he's greedy for money.

3 out of 5 stars Sure all the singles are on here--but many are EDITS.......2006-11-12

If you are a casual fan of Limp Bizkit and were just hoping to have all the big singles that used to be on TRL and stuff on one disc, this CD comes as a disappointment. At least HALF the songs on here are significantly shorter than on the actual CDs they come from, starting with the first big huge tracks, Counterfeit, Faith and Nookie, which, if you look on itunes, are each listed as the "greatest hits" versions, which I assume means edits so that they could fit more songs on one disc. Too bad. This could have been a convenient way to get all the complete versions of theirs songs on one disc so you wouldn't have to buy each individual CD.

Album Description

In the summer of 2006, a rambunctious new sound left fresh skidmarks in its wake as it swerved its way into American popular culture, introducing such terms as "scraper," "thizz-face," "stunna shades," and "gas, brake, dip." Called hyphy (a combination of "hyper" and "fly"), it invited immediate comparisons to Atlanta's crunk and Houston's chopped and screwed -- national movements which similarly arose from strong regional scenes.

Though often blamed for promoting drugs, violence, and reckless driving citations, the hyphy movement gave a name to the lifestyle of inner-city youth, who created their own rebel culture when mainstream society refused to acknowledge their existence. Influential rap artists like E-40, Mac Dre (R.I.P.), Keak Da Sneak, the Federation, and Mistah F.A.B. gave hyphy a voice, while producers like Rick Rock, Traxamillion, the Pharmaceuticals, Sean T. and Bedrock gave it a sound: uptempo and infectious, characterized by bass-heavy "slaps," keyboard-saturated melodies, energetic vocals, and catchy hooks.

One of hyphy's most significant aspects is that it's united the Bay Area's various area codes: 415, 510, 650, 707, and 408. The collaborative spirit saturates this compilation, evidenced by Dem Hoodstarz' "Getz Ya Grown Man On" remix--wherein the East Palo Alto duo, assisted by San Jose producer Traxamillion, are joined by San Francisco's San Quinn, Oakland's Mistah F.A.B. and Clyde Carson, and Vallejo's Turf Talk--and Mistah F.A.B.'s "Super Sic Wit It," a Oakland-to-Vallejo hookup featuring E-40 and Turf Talk, with a knock-worthy beat by 40's son Droop-E.

Speaking of E-40, the "Yay Area Ambassador" graces the D.B.'z "Stewie" (slang for a level of `hood freshness beyond stupid), Furious' "Take You Down," and Nump's "I Gott Grapes" (an ode to the purple foliage which has inspired many hyphy enthusiasts), in addition to his own "Gouda" (a synonym for cheddar, aka scrilla/scratch/paper).

Just as ubiquitous is Oakland's Keak Da Sneak, who lends his raspy, game-laced vocals to Sky Balla's "Big Payback," the Babyface Assassins' "Everybody Knows My Name," the Farm Boyz' "AllnDoe," and his own "Super Hyphie" - one of the biggest Bay anthems of 2005.

Hyphy wouldn't be as hyphy without the efforts of the late Mac Dre, inventor of the "thizz-face," whose combination of tongue-in-cheek humor and iceberg-cold pimp vernacular lives forever on "Feeling Myself" and "Get Stupid," two Mac Drizzle classics which add historical context to this collection. Meanwhile, Twisted Black's "I'm a Fool Wit It" (produced by DJ Toomp) and Da Musicianz' "Go Dumb" (featuring the Federation), suggest there are more similarities than differences between hyphy and crunk.

Representing the future of the movement, the A'z mine the seemingly endless well of Yay Area slang on "Yadadahmean," while the Team show their entrepreneurial (as well as lyrical and musical) skills on "Hyphy Juice," a shout-out to their energy drink of the same name. Rounding out the compilation are Shake Da Mayor's "Stunna Shades," Balance's "Grind," and Messy Marv's "Get On My Hype," which hint at the depth of talent in the Bay Area's rap scene.

Some call hyphy a lifestyle. Some call it an attitude. Some simply call it the truth. So whether you're from the soil or the `burbs, twist up the purple, swig the 1800 juice, pump the bass `til it slaps, and let them know you're in the building and feelin' youself, yadadamean? -Eric K. Arnold Oakland, California, July, 2006

5 out of 5 stars Very complete greatest hits !.......2007-02-22

This is probably the best greatest hits i've owned from what I can tell, almost every big song that heavy d is known for is on this album. The best songs for me are somebody for me, mr. big stuff, big daddy and is it good to you. The best part about the last song i mentioned, is that the version they put on this album is the one that was on the video and played on the radio, not the one that i remember having on the single that i bought many moons ago. Overall good selection and sound quality that is worth the money.

4 out of 5 stars Heavy D is good.......2006-11-10

This cd included all the hits that Heavy D has released. It starts form earlier hist and works its way up. The sound quality of the cd is above average. It is a pleasure to listen to.

4 out of 5 stars Great Hits CD For Beginners.......2006-01-24

I you were the type back in the day that bought all the 12 inch singles (which there were plenty of back in tha day), but not the albums, then you'll love this as a starter joint. To my amazement, they added "You Can't See What I Can't See" which was released as a single but never put on an lp.

All songs take me back in the day when life was simpler and less complicated and all you had to worry about was having your 3.99 at "The Wiz" for the next album or .99 for the next 12 inch single. Like all greatest hits cd's, there are always gonna be some curious omissions and additions which prevented me from giving it 5 stars.

First the omissions, I'm curious as to why Blue Funk was left off this list, as well as "Nike" "Money Earnin Mount Vernon" "Who's The Man (From the movie soundtrack with the same name)" the reggae smash "Mood For Love (which wasn't a single but received heavy radio rotation on r&b radio)" and of course the remix version of "Got Me Waiting" with r&B sensation at the time Silk. The real crime is leaving off "Don't Curse" which was phat and "Peaceful Journey" off the same named lp.

The additions, "Just Coolin". Nice song for it's time but it was Levert's song with Heavy D rappin a few lines in the song. That could have easily been left off.

But other than that, great cd from a great artist and lyricist.

To all CMW fans although at first glance this album seems to have all the songs you already have (If you have the other albums) it doesnt, i have all the albums except "its a compton thang" and i only knew about 2 or 3 of the tracks off here, plus they are all good especially "streight up meanace" (from menace 2 society). Also if you have not heard CMW before this album is a good intro too the group and has some but not all of their excellent songs on it, i definitly recommend it.
