no clones.......2006-04-11
that is true, twista and the underground chi bangin' have been around much longer than Bone, im a fan of both, but still, twista was on guiness in 92', while bone release faces of death in 93',,,,,, crucial is definitely the chi style, people in cleveland don't kno about the chi, Snypaz, do or die, crucial conflict, twista, other underground artists share a distinct personality, one that bone does not have
pioneered the sound we hear and love now.......2006-01-24
They repped the wild wild Westside Chi to the fullest. I lived in Chicago for many years and when this song came out it made me homesick for Texas. It reminded me of some Ghetto Boys and other southern rappers that wasn't big yet. For those who said they copied Bone knew nothing of Twista or the rest of the underground. Being that a lot of Chicago folks have Southern roots there was bound to be a sound develop from that. Why did they fall off? Nappy Roots and other groups that came later have to thank CC for putting the sound out there. Their sound established the sound we know as Midwest/ Southern rap. Keep your eye out for Chi to explode. There's way more bubblin' than Kanye and Common. They're Chicago but they are not fully reppin' Chicago sound.
great stuff!.......2005-08-28
These guys deserve respect! I saw them on TV on "The Box" channel in St Louis in 1996 - their music video for "Hay". It was original and tight, I loved everything I saw and heard right away. These guys definitely have their own signature, so don't go comparing them to The Bone. I think they got some old-school type classics on this disc, but listen to them with an open mind and listen to their lyrics. These guys are smart and funny and definitely got the flow and deserve some airtime!
That's how we do it in th CHi.......2005-08-23
These Folks are straight from the hood. One of the vatos in this group is from Maywood. CHi love to the fullest. If you've ever heard "Thats how we do it in the chi, on the west side" thats these cd. This cd is old and now a classic. Cop dis cd and bump it. Chi Love to Fullest.
The Final Conflict.......2005-08-10
Chicago's Crucial Conflict drops a classic debut, The Final Tic, with fast wild West, country shoot 'em up lyrics that originated by these four individuals. As most that have an identity all their own, critics usually take hits at the awkwardness rather than the music. All production was held down by member Wildstyle that captured the group's style to a science. This album of 15 tracks of which six directly deals with their signature flows of boot kicking out the saloon music. Even on the mainstream, "Just Getting My Money", the rugged tones still have a street feel and credibility. "Get Up" is a good example of the group's chemistry as the Flict flow over a galloping track with a whip as the snare and bounce. The patterns of "Life Ain't The Same" and "To The Left" strays from the direction, yet it fills the album where left incomplete. Cold Hard, Wildstyle, Kilo & Never may be conflicting to that repetitious sound that's recycled, but this is a breath of fresh air from the Windy City.

C C, The Best!.......2006-09-23
I always loved Crucial Conflict from High School late 80's early 90's. I live on the South side of Chicago and always admired this group from the West side. If you ever get to see this group in concert, please treat yourself to this experience. I went to the House of Blues here in Chicago and they were performing with TWISTA and I was amazed. I had the most fun enjoying the music and to know that they can still bring it!
Which side are you on?.......2006-07-08
Crucial Conflict is one of the hottest Midwest rap groups period. Their speedy delivery with raw lyrics and BANGIN beats make them the Classic Flick that they are today.
The Intro alone is so hot you already know that you've popped in a cd you'll be bumpin a long time non-stop. "The Bidness", Roll Somethin", "Young Gunz" and the ultra smooth "Let it go" are only a few of the rippin tracks in store for ya.
I think its best for me to clear up the problem of identifying Never's high pitch tones from Wildstyle's. Example track: "2 bogus" featuring three members of 3-6 mafia (DJ Paul, Juicy J and Lord infamous in that order) has a killa beat and Hella Rippin lyrics by everyone on the track! Now Wildstyle is the one that goes first, Never the one that went last. Wildstyle comes a little rougher in his voice, Never smoother.
If there is anything I miss, I'm sure the other true Flick fans reviews got to it, but I got to address that fact that I'm tired of seeing these kats compare Flick to Bone thugs--NO NO IN FACT, I'm tired of these whack azz folk rating this cd ONE star JUST because they like BONE. That's... just... dumb. Just like both of them. Now trust, I `m am very experience in the art's of bone (Just check my art of bone Reviews for further info) but I don't diss Flick just cause I really like Bone. IT'S ALL MIDWEST! Further more, the only thang I can say yall identifying a similarity is the fast lyrics. They have there own style of bangin beats, they don't sing with their lyrics, different voices- their just simply NOT TRYNA BE BONE or WANNA BE BONE! (Please read my bone art of war review for info on so called "bone clones") if you want similarity go look up and get Court dog's "Thug's diary" a raw cd that REALLY DOES have that bone sound. (bloodbath 2001 track is raw)
In fact, if flick fans didn't know and if you Flick haters that hate cuz of bone didn't know, the track "Back against the Wall" a Serious posse cut, Is a diss towards Bone. Like when he said "bone Killa, killa to the bone, I got that home address, yall niggaz better leave alone, this raw dope is life or death."
Anyways, this "Good Side. Bad Side got Fierce lyrics and clean beats the whole way through. Flick fans and Midwest rap fans please PEEP GAME to these chi town or Mid-W artists:
Ms Chambers- don't judge a book by its cover (Flyest female lyricist out the Midwest)
The Mercenaries- Battle cry (classic)
Black Pirate Militia- Us Against Us (Very lyrical underground rap ground, Very tight)
Chilldrin of da ghetto- self title (MUST HAVE FOR FLICK FANS, type it in exactly or it won't pop up in the search. This cd is hard)
Cruical Conflict- The call of the wild (Flick's third cd which combines clicks apart of the conflict fam. Harder to find, try to get it at a low price)
Peace
The Good, The Bad, The Ugly.......2006-02-11
Those rodeo boys from Chicago drops an anticipated return from their first album as Good Side, Bad Side is another side of the Flict. Again completely produced by member Wildstyle with the exception of one song this album contains the same multi-laced old Western / Country, hill clicking, gun slinging beats as even found on "Intro." "The Bidness" was a perfect song to lead this album off as Wildstyle boast over muted drum track
saying "...how are you gonna f*ck with these tracks..." Crucial Conflict gets dirty with "Scummy" following the formula from the first LP. "Roll Somethin" is another song worth mentioning with their signature sound and flow apparent here. Bogus, bogus is up-tempo with looping guitar strum on "2 Bogus" featuring Three 6 Mafia. There are also a few commercial /
mainstream tracks that add to the flavor found on this album as well such as the seductive "Come On" and "Ghetto Queen" featuring R. Kelly. "Universal Love" was another song that took the Flict to another level with shot outs to the maker and prayers that led smoothly to "Faceless Ones". "Airplane" featuring Do Or Die is one of the highlights as the seven emcees
/ rappers teamed up to take this one real high. After this song the high ends abruptly and that's the problem with this release. The fierce, rapid fire flow on the slow tempo "I'm Bout To Explode" made this another one of the highlights for this album. This is definitely a good side of Crucial Conflict.
Maywood LOVE.......2005-08-24

THESE GUYS ARE TIGHT! I BOUGHT THIS CD FOR $2 OUT OF A BARGAIN BIN, AND IT WAS WELL WORTH IT. I LOVE THIS CD BECAUSE I LOVE BONE THUGS. ANYONE WHO SAYS THESE GUYS DONT SOUND LIKE BONE, YOURE KINDA RIGHT, THEY'RE NO WHERE NEAR THE TALENT LEVEL OF BONE. SAME STYLE, QUICK AND FURIOUS, SAME BEATS, THUMPIN AND SEXY, BUT JUST NOT BONE. I LOVE THIS CD, BUT I COULD GIVE IT ONLY ONE STAR OUTTA RESPECT FOR THA BONE.

COULD HAVE BEEN BETTER.......2005-10-25
THIS ALMBUM IS BY FAR THE WORST, BUT THIS ALBUM WAS ONLY REALLY PROMOTIONAL USE FOR THEIR NEW LABEL "BUCKWILD" WHICK I BELIEVE ISNT HAPPENING ANYMORE AND A FEW GROUPS THEY'RE ADDING TO THE FLICT IF ANY.THIS ALBUM IS STILL WORTH PUCHISING IF YOU LIKE THE FLICT BUT YOU CAN ALSO COP THEIR NEW ALBUM "ILL-LEGAL" AT "[...]" AND EVEN HEAR A COUPLE 30 SEC PREVIEWS OF ABOUT THREE SONGS OF THE CD AT "CHIBANGIN.COM" IN THEIR AUDIO SECTION. AND THAT ALBUM HAS A FEW NEW SONGS AND A FEW SONGS WITH BEATS YOU ALREADY KNOW OF LIKE SOME LIL JON AND 50 CENT BEATS WITH THE FLICTS CRUCIAL LYRICS OVER THEM. AND THE TIP CDS ALSO OFFERS A BUNCH OF CHICAGO AND INDIANA UNDERGROUND ARTISTS THAT YOU SHOULD CHECK OUT.YOU CAN ALWAYS LISTEN TO A FEW SONG SKITS BEFORE BUYING.
A True Conflict .......2005-02-01
Whats up, Its MK Rider with another well established review. Crucial conflict's "The call of the wild" is there (so far it seems)last album. Don't get the wrong idea, this album gets 3 stars for a reason. conflict is off the Raw Dope label and on there own label called Buckwild records. simalier to Bone Thugs "Mo Thugs" and Tommy wright III's "Manson family", Conflict's buckwild is aim at puting on conflict apporved talent. to this effect, the album isn't as good as I thought it be. The Main problem for me is the beats. lots them just ain't BUMPIN it right. Tracks wit the flict or tracks wit one of the related members are usually the tight ones. "Inside the middle" is a adicting and catchy track FO SHO! Reason: ITS CONFLICT THEMSELFS! The next track "how you raised" also a tight track and one track with flicts homeboys(the renegades: lil glock,Anger, lil sweat,J wood, and never from conflict) that is pretty tight. "Representin" and "Till death" are ALSO two others without conflict that did good wit some tight beats. "I wanna dance" was kinda catchy at first, but T-babe singing kinda gets annoying on this one. Trigger(some girl rapper on here) did ok. Its str8. The next track "Buckwild anthem" is A VERY TIGHT TRACK and best on the album to me featuring mostly all the rappers on the album(Conflict,Q-ball,Rep rippa, Tone capone, jimmy goddener, and many others). "All my cats" is where the beat problems come in. WHERE IS IT! they come aiight wit there lyrics but this ain't all that good. If you like them simple beats like that, its ALL fo ya. if not, ya understand me. the skit, "9.102buckmusic" is one of the FUNNIEST skits ever! it should have ya trippin. The album picks back up wit the track "on and poppin" wit conflict rippz it up and HITZ HARD! Live ya life" trck brings the dopeness RIGHT BACK down wit another not bumpin enough beat "gade life" has this problem halfway. they spit str8 so its aiight. "Rotate" is another lame one wit an inferior beat, "Bring it on" Beat is STR8. lyrics are ok. "Meditation" did good ONLY cause flict members on it wit singing from T-babe. BUT ITS TOO DAMN SHORT! personally reminds me of one Bone thugs weed songs. "Baby girl" is another annoying track wit little ta no beat for me. B.B.S featuring B.B.S is STR8 lyrically but the beat not to good. coldhard does chorus tight. "That be me" is pretty good wit mr blhunt and T-babe the chorus is catchy and kinda funny. and t-babe did good singin too. "Freak get buck" is the final track from conflict which of course is HELLA tight. "doe doe" is another unsuccessful track from the renegades wit OK lyrics. Finally its " The call of the wild" which is a solo wit Wildstyle. Its short, but he RIPPZ IT UP FOR THE FAUNALLY!
The beats that were simple and not-up-to-part beats probably came from there not as experienced production skillz that wildstyle had wit the Raw Dope label. So the point I'm tryna make here is that this not a COMPLETELY TIGHT album, only halfway. The flict's classic "Good side,Bad side" is there BEST and ALL is tight on there. ya gotta have that. This is harder ta find but ya not missing out on TOO much. Still, grab it cause its rare and those true Crucial Conflict fanz, fo you its a must cause there are some tight tracks here. peace.
not spectacular, but a few gems..........2004-05-06
I'd have to say 'In The Middle' is the most addicting song on the album.
The most well-done tracks are 'All My Cats' & 'Till Death'.
I think it's WildStyle that spits that incredible verse in 'Freaks Get Buck', not exactly sure, but damn, was that a quick plethora of rhymes...tight hook too...
The last two notewothy tracks are 'All n Poppin' & 'Rotate'.
BOOO!!!.......2003-05-09
It's a compilation album. Only like 3 songs from Flict themselves. Wildstyle did the producing so it has his usual flava on the beats but most of them sound like they were done on a Casio keyboard in his basement. The best song on the album isn't even Flict's its The Fakalty's... If Flict gets on a big label and puts out their own album I'll still buy it in a sec. But paying [money]for this album (only 3 songs worth listening too) was a waste. Let 2 of my homeboys who are hardcore Flict fans check it out and they both thought it was garabage. Save your money for the day they put out their own album (which according to the inside of the CD case was suppose to be the fall of 2001).
Bangin' New Label.......2002-10-23
Wassup all you Flict fans out there! My boys, the conflict are back and up to new thangs with their own record label. After all the legal problems with past labels, I'm so glad to see the wickest group get their own thing going. This album is a preview of all the artist on Buckwild records. Like my boy just said, watch out for the Flict's release "Illigal" as it is coming soon! Much love to Chi town's dopest rappers.
Peace,
Xplosive

Mixtape king Mick Boogie knows how to put together a "Best Of" mixtape, and this is just another example of a well-executed mixtape masterpiece. With 36 tracks mixed by MB, this mix has everything from unreleased remixes to never-before-heard verses on such hits as Thru The Wire, and more. The "Re-Issue" version of this mixtape is more widely available these days, since the original pressing was made in very low quantities, but it has completely different cover art and any Kanye fan or collector knows that the limited original release is the one that you NEED for your collection! Hip Hop at it's finest.......2006-01-27
This album was amazing. Great production, solid lyrics and smooth delivery. Unlike a lot of other underground artists who spend half their album calling out those who don't adhere to the principles of "real" hip hop; Hi Fidel is solidly grounded in the common experience. His music is music for everyday people, political without being overwhelmingly so, the kind of album you listen to strait through without skipping a track. I also liked the samples from the movie "Breakin'."
Overall, an easy 5 star selection.
