anticon definitly takes on a new form w/ their second group lp. a much more laid back, mellow, and sometimes dark atmosphere is given off throughout the entire album. this works for many of the anticon artists (why?, sole, buck 65, sage francis), but it just doesn't seem to flow w/ the likes of dose one and alias. definitly get this cd tho, just for the reason that there is a track by josh martinez. this kid is one of the most talented artists anticon has come across. sage and buck 65 complete the lp's best three tracks. so listen and enjoy as the best of anticon keep it real.
Different from Anticon, but still great.......2001-06-10
The first thing about this album is that it is different from other anticon stuff, but in my opinion this is not a bad thing. The main difference is the album is generally mellower then their other stuff. There are no tracks with string instruments, real heavy bass beats or incredibly quick and intense flow deliveries, but this is no way comes close to hurting this album. The generally mood is a mellower more methodical approach seen in the first and seventh tracks, we 'aint fessin' and watching water (respectively). Since I don't want to be too lengthy I'll just say this is a great album. Good songs include: We aint fessin', Inherited Scars and Watching Water (all out amazing song with fantastic, moving lyrics). Tracks 3,4 and 6 are also good, but i don't know their names of the top of my head. also the dose sole track and pedestrian for a vessel
