Re-issue of Slightly Stoopid's Longest Barrel Ride and "Self-Titled" albums. Band is from Ocean Beach - San Diego. Slightly Stoopid has done countless national tours both supporting national acts, and headlining. These two albums have been out of print for years, and are being re-released together. This album contains tracks unreleased anywhere else. Re-released on thier original label: Skunk Records.

The Longest Barrel Ride/Self Titled Album 2 CD Set.......2006-07-22

I don't know what the track listing that Amazon offers is of, but this is a 2 CD set that includes Slightly Stoopid's original self titled album (the original pressing of which is extremely rare to come by) and the classic `Longest Barrel Ride' album. The self titled album shows the band in their early, rawest form. It is a 14 track CD primarily consisting of straight punk rock songs with touches of reggae and hip-hop here and there. Overall, it's a decent punk CD with above average bass work.

The real gem is the `Longest Barrel Ride', which is the album where Slightly Stoopid really balanced the sounds of punk/reggae/hip-hop together creating their distinct Southern California sound. Although Sublime influences are prominent throughout the album, Slightly Stoopid definitely has their own sound and style. `The Longest Barrel Ride' still maintains much of the rawness of the Self Titled album that I think gives the music an edge that their newer stuff lacks. They still play the songs found on these two albums at their live show which are absolutely awesome (You can download some of their live stuff at sublimearchive.com)

Just listen to songs like `Castles Made of Sand' and `Music Man' and you will see that they are not a lesser Sublime but a band with a style of their own and deserve to be recognized for it.

In his self-titled, debut album, Mr. David's First Album, popular children's musician and entertainer, Mr. David, brings together a bit of the old and a bit of the new in a unique collection of songs that take their inspiration from the classic children's music we all grew up with and love.

Mr. David's song list reaches across decades and countries to introduce children to some of our best-loved classics and the diverse musical sounds of different genres and styles.

With great American folk classics like "I've Been Working on the Railroad" done as a guitar instrumental to allow children to use their imagination in creating visuals for the music, "Oh! Susanna" played with a harmonica that brings out the songs' country roots, and a simple, unique arrangement of "Old McDonald Had a Farm" that makes kids laugh out loud and ask their parents to play it over and over again, Mr. David is able to tap into the warm, comforting feelings of America's golden, pioneering age.

He combines classics with old world tunes like "Old King Cole," its mandolin rhythms and deep vocals reminiscent of medieval Europe, and newer, African-drum inspired tracks like, "African Spirit Walk."

Even the newer, original songs have a simple, old feel about them. His original, Johnny Cash/Beatles-influenced tune "Yum" pulls together a cacophony of instruments and vocals into a raucously fun sound that is a bit of "Yellow Submarine" and a Shel Silverstein-inspired rock n' roll kidÂ's band--pots, pans, the kitchen sink and all.

Love this CD.......2006-10-19

I usually don't write reviews for products. But I love the CD so much that I have to write about it. My son (2 yrd) loves it too. It has familiar songs with intereting twists. I usually play kids music in the car for my son, and I got sick of all those songs over and over again. With Mr David's songs, my whole family never got bored. My son would also imitate the sounds Mr David makes in the CD. highly recommend.

Another solid album from Hindle.......2005-09-01

James Hindle delivers another solid album filled with Alt-Country songs. Which is interesting as he is from England. He is joined on this album by members of The Ladybug Transistor, Vetiver, and Espers. Silence and Birthday Candle are among my favorite tracks. He had a song on The OC from his last album Prospect Park (which reminded me more of Neil Young's Harvest in sound and texture) and this seems to build off a slightly happier time in his life.

what the hell is this.i swear this fool has the same annoying as sound as local bay area r&b singer levetti.i have over 450 bay area rap cd's and this is probaly the worse cd in my collection, not to mention the other 2 cd's he has out are even worse.

Tight album, tight rapper, tight location. SANTA ROSA 707 NORTH BAY. Im from da town and erybody luvs this album. This is Zig's rookie album, and it tells the truth like track elleven. He talks about how new coming artists use big names to get known. and this guy just uses his local crew on his album, no snoop or dre here. just some tight headphone, stereo, or bumps in da trunk music 4 dat azz
