This CD is really good if you like hardcore rap. Ganksta C has got some really good flows and lyrics. There is also a little reggae mixed in which makes it even more pimp C.

I GOT THIS CD AND I MUST SAY THAT THIS IS TERRIFIC! AUDIO STEPCHILD IS THE BEST IN RAP AND HIP HOP MUSIC! THE WORDS ARE SO GOOD AND YOU CAN FEEL THEM IN YOUR SOUL AND HEART! I GOT THE CD BECAUSE OF THE PRINCE SONG AND THAT IS THE WORST SONG ON THE ALBUM! THE PRINCE REMIX OR WHATEVER THAT IS is GREAT BUT ALL THE SONGS ARE SO GOOD AND DIFFERNET SOUNDING.

Best album of the year.......2001-09-08

This is honestly the best album of the year. They have so many hit singles on this album. This is an album that you can listen to all the way through. This is a perfect album. The only problem is though, it will be hard for them to make a second record and top this. This is a MUST!

top-notch hip hop.......2001-08-20

This is first-rate top notch hip-hop. A fun ride in the ultimate musical form. The musical production is wound tighty around frantic and deadly lyrics performed with perfection. There is no hoax or gimmick in this. This is a compelling exploration to unlock the truth in real hip-hop. They have a sort of deranged look look at life, but the notorius, crazy exploits they kick in the song "Drugs and Sex" is needed. That song is a wild ride of insanity that you can't miss. They balance it with a creative force in "My Life" that stands above the crowd. The two verses in "Catasrophe at the Well" come into focus, shift back and forth, overlap, then surprisingly converge into one of the most provacative songs in years. Both of these newcomers have stellar and break out performances that many people will enjoy. Overall this is a refreshingly original group that will viciously assault anyone who stands in the way.

The World really missed out on Stepchild.......2006-08-10

This is a wonderful cd. I still play it to this very day. Chill with you is my favorite. I wish these guys would release another album. It's a shame that they didn't get the props they so well deserved. Come back Stepchild!!

If Funk Was A Crime, These Brothas' Would Get The Death Penalty.......2006-06-24

I first became aware of StepChild in 1995, the same year their debut album (cd) was released. I was blown away! The brothas' were actually playing instruments, not 808 drum machines like most during the mid 90's. It was very refreshing to hear "MUSICIANS",ahhh, don't hear that word used too much anymore, on the trax of this project. This group fell victim to not being abled to be cast in a certain genre of music, thus hurting their ability to be heard on the radio. I heard them on an alternative station WRFG 89.3 FM here in the "ATL", and it's the only station I ever heard them played on. It's hard to describe their sound, but it's sort of a 90's P-Funk sound(for those of you who don't know what P-Funk is, that's short for Parliament-Funkadelic). I enjoyed every track on the album (cd), my favorite is "F****n' Wit Me", a mid-tempo groove with nice lead vocals, and background harmonies, especially the cat with the bass voice that reminds me of P-Funk. If you want something different, but not extreme in your collection of music, then give this album (cd) a try, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Awesome, if I do say so myself.......2006-03-08

I wrote (well, co-created) this album. It is one of my babies, and I've very proud of it. This is the first time we've taken on the new wave-ish vibe, and I really like it. And there's funk too, as usual and necessary. And rock...and pop...and well, that's the way we roll.

Symmetrical, Ginger, and Funk 48 are my favorites. The others are good too, but those three really hit me.

The execution on the album wasn't perfect, because I'm not as good a guitarist as I'd like to be, and it doesn't sound like a million dollar recording, but hey, we did it all ourselves, our way, and it's pretty damn good.

Erratic Fool was (is?) a great band, in all of it's incarnations. It's a shame that too much of early music success is about popularity, not originality, and a three-piece of introverts in committed relationships is a lot harder to sell than a band full of frat guys that plays cover tunes.

One day, the world will hear Setting Sun and realize that it missed out on EF when we were young bucks. Now we all got kids and are too geriatric to dream of rock stardom. They'll see...we were so much better than Mercury...
