Customer Reviews:
Tenderness.......2006-08-13
I completely agree with the other reviewer. The whole reason I came here was to find the final track that plays in the movie ("Tendernes") and was surprised not to find it in the compliation!
about 2 good songs.......2006-06-25
I listened to this cd and was sorely dissappointed. I loved the movie and the music in the movie. usually the songs that you listen to are in sequence with the movie and this was not. Not only that but the good songs that were in the movie were left out for some reason. I am not someone that is picky about her music either. I love music. I hate this cd.
Where's "Tenderness"???.......2005-10-18
Some good songs, some okay songs, some "ehhh" songs as well... but it's not really the Clueless soundtrack without General Public's "Tenderness". Big omission.
Pretty decent soundtrack, captures the film.......2005-08-31
The soundtrack for the movie "Clueless" captures the film. When you hear the song "Rolling With My Homies," you remember the house party. It's a fairly decent soundtrack. I like the song "Supermodel" and everytime I hear it I think about Tai's makeover. It's seriously lacking some major bookends. When CHer first takes off in her vehicle at the beginning of the film she is listening to "Just A Girl," by No Doubt before they got huge. Another song missing is "Tenderness" by General Public when was played at the end of the wedding and during the pink screen credits. Who knows why those songs were omitted but they aren't here. What you are left with is a pretty decent soundrack but not something that really stands the test of time like say the "Valley Girl" soundtrack ya know? A few good songs and some forgettable songs, and groups. Whatever happened to The Muffs?
Would I ever sell this? As if........2005-04-19
Not my favorite movie ever, but it was good, and the music was even better. This is your typical mid-90's mostly alternative soundtrack. Some good covers too. "Ghost In You" and "All The Young Dudes" are great. Also good alt-rock from Radiohead, Lightning Seeds, and Supergrass. The Beastie Boys track is their older punkish stuff, and The Mighty Mighty Bosstones song is actually what made me get this disc. It's so catchy. The rest is decent. At this point, look for it used.

Product Description
Pigeon John is just real with us. He reveals all the insecurity, pain, joy and laughter that goes into a vibrant life. His stories can touch the listener and his jokes would make him the life of any party. Above all, it is the final words heard on the final song "B" that bring Pigeon's real message to the forefront. "You're fearfully and wonderfully made / don't be dismayed my dear son."
Customer Reviews:
Somebody should clue in..........2005-08-31
I picked up Pigeon John on a whim after reading a review for 'Pigeon John Sings the Blues' in Rolling Stone. Once I gave it a full listen, I was hooked on his genius. Creative, eloquent and versatile, Pigeon John is maybe the most gifted member of the LA Symphony crew. If anything he is a great artist with more potential than even he may comprehend.
Beats:
This album is a re-release of his first, with added cuts. Having all of his albums, I can say this is his best because it showcases great beats with great rhymes. 'The Cowboy Song' is my favorite because it is funny and cool at the same time. Makes you just wanna put the top down and bump it as loud as you can. "Cheerleaders" and "6th and Alvarado" pump like fists at a Black Panther rally, but you may be laughing at the hooks a little too much to notice. Still, you can just let this ride till the end, no skips.
Rhymes:
Pigeon John is basically nice on the mic because he is so balanced and clear. You understand every word because of his flawless handling of the English language. Even he says that he "sounds white". Who cares? I know I never did. Pay close attention to the somber 'Cry' and you may find yourself weeping. 'Rap Contest' is a testament to Pigeon John's perseverance in the rap industry.
Lasting appeal:
Like the description says, this is a must have for hip-hop heads. No cussing involved and a reverance for the Lord above, John is lyrically on his grind with this album. Give this a listen just for the refreshing newness in his sound and the humility that travels with the package.
"I'm in my mid-twenties still dating cheerleaders..." -Pigeon John
Great CD.......2005-08-07
I love this CD. The style, lyrics and beats all come together perfectly. I HIGHLY recomend this album. PJ is real and funny. Especialy with 6th and alverado. If your from L.A. Your feel'n him on what goes on at MAC Arthur Park. This is some Hip Hop for ya.
One Word- Breakthrough.......2005-01-11
Fun, deep, truly unique... that's Clueless. I've gotten so many people into hip hop using this CD alone... it's that good. PJ's wit shines through as the glue that holds his style and beats together. It's an amazing combination. One of my all-time favorite songs- The Cowboy Song ( I still giddy-up to it in my car!). And Cheerleaders is simply... perfect. This is real hip hop ya'll. This is the reason I still have hope for the business... nuff said.
True Hip Hop - But Reviews can be decieving.......2004-04-17
Pigeon John is one underground mc you can count on to deliver. And deliver consistenly. However it is really a shame that he gets labeled a "christian rapper", he is not about labels at all, and he like quite a few other mc's have religous beliefs. This does not make there music "christian". If somebodys mom went out and bought there son Nas's Illmatic(nas has a deep belief in god) thinking they were getting a "christian rap" cd. they'd be sadly mistaken. And the same holds true for pigeon john. If you need proof of this, listen to any other joint off the basement records label. Having said all this, this is a top notch album with amazing beats and intense lyrics. A good buy. make sure to get "pigeon john is dating your sister" as that is also very good.
peace
Nice..........2003-04-06
Pigeon John is a trip, indeed. His lyrics are humoreous;however, meaningful. I don't have any LA Symphony joints...however...I heard PJ on DJ Maj's Full Plates and had to give him a try.
About a year ago, I rid of the 250+ cds I owned of the Jay Z's, Biggies, Nas, etc. This is a fresh outlook on true Hiphop.

Love the music from Ann Curless.......2003-05-25
Although I am not a huge fan of artists turning ballads into dance songs, I loved the versions that Ann Curless released.
"One" reminded me so much of the Stevie B/Jocelyn Enriquez sound. Every time I hear it, I am nostalgic of my high school days in Hawaii. This import has some great dance music overall.
Solid dance interpretations of great classic songs!.......2001-08-14
"Don't Speak" and "Spiderwebs" by No Doubt, "I don't wanna miss a thing" by Aerosmith, these original songs were top hits. This album features these big hits and others as dance songs. Guarnteed to make you get up and dance. you may have heard "Don't Speak" and "Lately" at your local club. My three main personal favourites are sung by the multi-talented Ann Curless formerly of Expose. "One", a sexy New York flavored number spiced with freestyle beats is my absolute favorite. "Lately" is just superb, and "Open arms" is marvelous thanks to Ann's spectacular vocal approach. Get this cd while it's available.
With the warm vocals of ANN CURLESS (Expose) This CD rocks!!.......1999-10-08
Andrew here from Canada, well everyone what can I say about this record? For one it's absolutely perfect...for one simple reason: It features three tracks by the multitalented ANN CURLESS. Her vocals are warm and deep. She brings songs like "Lately" and "Open arms" new meaning. The freestyle track "One" is especially remarkable. I know that there are a lot of Ann Curless fans out there. So folks, there you have. A great dance CD. Buy it now! Look out for a new remix of "Lately" released by Rampage records. It contains a B side dub of "Point of no return" where Ann sings a few lines from the dance classic.
This CD is HOT!.......1999-04-30
This cd should get more than 5 stars. The collection of music is fantastic. A combination of all the singles released and best of all the ones that haven't been released as singles. If your only going to buy one cd this year - THIS IS THE ONE for you!!!

Don't Think Too Much.......2000-07-02
A little bit David Kelly, a little bit David Cassidy, this CD-single is punchy, fun, and stressless. That is, if you don't think too much. Just get it and dance...and you'll keep dancing for a few days. Then you may throw it out because it's hard to get it out of your head. Get it out of your head. Get it out of your head, your head, your head, your head. Get it out of your head.
