Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars A MUST have for the Serious dB drag Competitor.......2004-06-03

This is the OFFICIAL compact disc used to set the Sound Pressure Level World Records. You may want to look for the LATEST version of this albumn. I am writing this in 2004 and there is now a volume 5 out, maybe beyond. At serious competitions, you must use the latest of the albumns, however there is no difference that I am aware of from one to another as far as loudness (pure tones are pure tones). These are discs with some good bass jams for the first few tracks, then Pure Sine Wave Tones for the remainder. It is Necessary when competing to play a short duration PURE TONE (aka Sine Wave) matched to your resonant frequency of your woofer enclosure's vent and/or vehicles cabin. In other words, buy this disc, and play at 1/3rd or so power, each frequency, untill the decible meter reads the loudest. Then increase to full power and let that discovered tone rip (usually 45-70 or so cylces). You simply can NOT get a higher decibel reading than by utilizing a PURE TONE. Music will NOT meter as loud. So if you are serious about car audio and want to win this disc is the one!!! It will give you almost an unfair advantage at small town comps where kids have no idea of the science behind SPL.
