Chuck D of Public Enemy once prophesized that if artists didn't own their masters (tapes), the masters will own the artists. Well, hip-hop's fave gangster CEO Suge Knight owns most of his former high-profile label mates' master tapes and continues to issue collections of dated works by Tha Dogg Pound, Dr. Dre, and now Snoop. Originally entitled Dead Man Walking to scare the willies out of Snoop, this release comes with a big fat greasy caveat emptor. Sure, this is a ghetto fab collection of the Doggfather's finest pre-No Limit and Doggystyle Records moments dating back to his brilliant cover of Biz Markie's "Vapors" on Tha Doggfather album. That said, Snoop wants nothing to do with this release because he won't receive any proceeds from it and has urged his fans not to buy it. Contractual shenanigans aside, this release is off the hook and contains most of Snoop's finest career headbangers, from "Gin and Juice" to "Who Am I (What's My Name)." A great purchase if you can live with your conscience. --Dalton Higgins

MORE VINTAGE SNOOP DOGGY DOGG!.......2006-09-06

Thats right more of Snoop with his classic delivery before he changed his style around and started to sound like a commercial dumb f***! Im not going to list all the classics as standout tracks because we know that they are the s--t already. Im going to list the standout tracks from the unreleased songs on this diak. Standout tracks: DOGGFATHER REMIX, MIDNIGHT LOVE, TOO HIGH (POLY HIGH), EASTSIDE, THE USUAL SUSPECTS AND KEEP IT REAL.
Filler: The Snoop Bounce rock n roll remix is the worst rock/rap infusion since Walk with me with Puffy and Jimmy Page and Vapors is a dull disservice to the Biz Markie Classic! Despite these flaws this is the best greatest hits album since 2pac's greatest hits.

Not Bad But Not Great.......2006-07-12

On this album I like the following tracks - Nuthin But A G Thang, Head Doctor, Gin And Juice, Eastside Party, Murder Was The Case Remix, Ain't No Fun (If The Homies Can't Have None), Midnight Love, Who Am I (What's My Name), Doggy Dogg World and Vapors. All the famous songs on this album I like and they are great but the previously unreleased songs other than Midnight Love and Eastside Party are totally wack! Well I think so, either they have too many guest appearances or they are weird remixs that are no way near as good as the original versions. Its better to get Dead Man Walkin for the unreleased songs because those songs are much better or Tha Dogg if you want a best of album.
