Customer Reviews:
Love Musicals? Love to Laugh? This is definitely for you!.......2002-06-11
Even if you live thousands of miles away from Broadway, this CD will tickle your funny bone, hey, it might even break your funny bone! I love Broadway musicals, but rarely get a chance to see the big ones, living on the other side of the country. No matter, this CD still makes me laugh out loud. Even if you don't understand each and every reference, not to worry, there's enough here for anyone.
The Dustin Hoffman sequence is a treat, the first few seconds will elicit peals of laughter. The Ethel Merman and Mary Martin pairing is at it's very best on this CD. The Topol and Julie Andrews spoofs are not only completely hilarious but done in a loving manner that doesn't leave a disrespectful taste in your mouth.
Carol Channing is wonderful in her appearance on this CD. But my favorite of all is probably Mug Brothers. Any child of the 60s-70s will die over the David and Shaun Cassidy spoof, with "I Think I'm Acting" from "I Think I Love You," it's funny enough to even make an old fan laugh.
All in all, this is a beauty - and my favorite of the Forbidden Broadway series! It's clean, hilarious, and worth twice the price.
uneven but hysterical.......2000-02-18
It's worth getting for two sequences alone: "Ashkebad, Tblisi, and Kiev Express" (a new ending for "Anna Karenina"), and a vicious riff on Grand Hotel "Grim Hotel". Loved it!
Could Have Been Funnier.......1998-05-17
This CD just didn't have the spark that the 1st, 2nd and 4th Forbbiden Broadway recordings did. Part of my reaction may be due to the fact that I'm less familiar with the shows spoofed on this album, but even the ones I knew didn't seem that amusing. I was particularly disappointed with the Miss Saigon sequence--"You are Hallmark and I Postcard" didn't strike me as funny in the least.

Enchanting Chill music.......2006-03-19
I came across this CD at a music festival booth. I asked the vendor what would be good for massage, as I am a CMT. He popped The Dreaming into a CD and I listened for about 5 minutes before I was hooked.
Just about every one of the songs on the CD is amazing. An incredible mix of Middle Eastern rhythms, ethereal voices, and otherwordly ambience. People ask me all the time what I am playing when I use this CD for my massage sessions. I recently got a DJ friend into this music, and he's in the process of acquiring all 4 CDs by this duo.
My absolute favourite song is Dmaot Malach. When I listen to it with my boyfriend, it feels like we're a million miles away from the world.
We're major fans of Zero 7 and Sound Tribe Sector 9, and this CD is also with us on any trip or evening together.
So Much More Than Expected.......2005-09-22
I had heard several tracks from this CD and was excited about receiving it, however, I was blown away by the fact that I LOVED EVERY TRACK on it. Not only from the point of view of a fan of fabulous music, but from the fact that I can use the music in the psychotherapeutic exercises I facilitate (Breathwork and tantra therapy). Every track is hugely evocative and transporting and the sequence of the tracks is perfect. Couldn't be happier about a music purchase.
Subtle, melodic and definitely spiritual.......2005-02-22
One of our teacher at the yoga studio put this music during a class. Suddenly, everything was different, everything was flowing with grace and I would feel going deep into myself as the poses went.
But you don't need to practice yoga to like it. It's real music and the soul and the inspiration are there.
Fabulous album - one of my favorites.......2004-12-01
I found this CD in a yoga shop and bought it without knowing anything about it. it was one of the best purchases i made! The soft and melodic tracks, with sophisticated rhythms and beats underneath are perfect to play around the house, and especially when working. I'm a graphic designer, and we play this CD all the time in the studio. It really helps the creative flow...! And what's interesting is that i don't seem to be getting tired of it, i just keep discovering new layers and depth.
It's a wonderful CD, i highly recommend it.

Fantastic,if you Like Roger Troutman.......2007-04-01
A little more mellow and cool CD from Roger.Nice tunes.
You Can Never Get Enough!!.......2006-11-11
Another must-have album. Filled with tracks from "A Thin Line Between Love & Hate" & others. For any Zapp & Roger Troutman fan.
At first I didn't know what to make of the album but after a while, it really grew on me. Even the Christmas track, which was the oddest of all.
The only drawback was the amount of tracks!! I know 4 or 5 could've still been squeezed-in!! Oh... & the original "California Love" isn't good, lyrically.
I never expected less from Roger........2003-01-24
Roger Troutman could innovatively inspire grooves that would have you dancing before you even realized. But when he re-did a classic, you just knew it was going to be off the hook! Roger's vision, talent, enthusiasm are evident in such songs as "Thin line between love and hate", and "I will always love you". I will particularly direct your attention to "Easy" and "Livin' for the city" as Roger schools the music industry on what a remake is all about. But let's not forget about the originals. "Everybody get up" is reminiscent of the funkateer's energetic "So ruff so tuff" yet, with a refreshingly youthful hip-hop spin. Roger could hit you from any angle, and he was always eager to give you all he could. The jazzy, rhythmic "Play some blues" was a more cultural display of Roger's dirverse talents. Even though the live version of "Midnight hour" is a nice-to-have, I would have liked the original version included. Listening to this cd is a good starting point for those of you not familiar with the Zapp essence. For those of us already fans of Roger/Zapp clan, doesn't it make you miss him? My love to Roger, and may he rest in peace,- your adoring fan, Ian Christopher Epps.
Good.......2000-05-18
This is Good but not as Strong as the First Hits One.Still Roger is One Of The Greatest Talents Ever. His Music will Forever Live On.His Music is So Important. He was a Genius.
So they put the best jams in Vol 1--Vol 2 ain't no slouch!.......2000-02-29
I mean, those remakes of Stevie's "Living for The City" and "Easy" are great. It also has the underrated and underplayed "It Doesn't Really Matter" and "Get Up Everybody" and it puts good use to Shirley Murdock's fire-and-brimstone meets the Champaign Room vocals especially on "Chocolate City"--listeners must be warned, "California Love" here doesn't have Dre and 2pac, but that "doesn't really matter"...it is a good CD.

Every song on this CD is for lovers. Those who have fell apart, but are willing to try again, this CD is for you. Very beautiful! I'm in love with love again !!
The Soul Lounge Vol.1.......2006-05-26
I heard Sunshine by Antoinque on a local collage radio station
on my way to work. Fell in love with the song the first time I
heard it. The song is different from a lot mainstream gospel.
The song is smooth & uplifting. This CD is a must have.
BEST neo-soul compilation yet!.......2006-04-01
A wonderful variation of artists from neo-gospel to neo-funk who all have totally original sounds. I love the eclectic mix and it is an extreme listening pleasure from begining to end.

Customer Reviews:
Start here, or just skip it........2003-03-06
I own four of the Plastic Compilation series, & this is (to date) the most disappointing. The Fatboy Slim is both lame & pointless, the Hybrid piece never gets off the starting line, and the Tiesto remix of "Sweet Surrender" isn't up to his past work.
That said, "The All The All" (Lo Fidelity All Stars) almost carries the disc by itself, & bears repeated close listening -- and excessive dancing (ensuring that my coworkers remember I'm both insane & spastic, but wtf...).
Considering the surfeit of lousy compilation CDs in the world, this is hardly among the worst. It's worth the price, but just barely.
A solid addition to the Plastic Series.......2002-04-12
Ever since the first Plastic album, I've been snagging up the rest of the series as soon as I knew they were out. I like the level of consistency in most of the songs on each album. I'm a fan of this particular series since most artist albums and other compilations have a few good songs and the rest tends to be filler. These albums rarely contain uneven tracks. The fifth in the series meets my expectations and delivers is usual blend of great electronic music. It contains grade A techno and is very consistent. I was a little disappointed with the inclusion of the album cut of Star 69. I would have appreciated at least a remix. Still, it's a very solid, very listenable album, and it's nice to see Sarah McLachlan back. I missed her obligatory presence in the last one.
Do I have to have a title? The CD doesn't..........2001-11-06
Ok, this compilation business is really getting out of hand: this CD has only been out about 3 months and when I got it I found out I already had 3 or 4 of the cuts on other CD's! And, yes, some of the tracks are cut off (though they do it rather smoothly).
But the music's still good if you go in for this sort of trance/house stuff, though I would slightly recommend getting Trancemission 2 before Plastic 5 (both have the excellent Jan Johnston song - I can play it all day long...).
Basically Nettwerk has kept more or less true to form in this series of compilations. 3 1/2 stars -- maybe 4 (or more) if things hadn't been lopped off and the music was a bit more on the exclusive side. Are you listening Nettwerk?
My personal favorite of all the Plastic comp cds.......2001-08-08
Of the three cds I own in this series, volume 5 is my favorite. I really dg Hybrid's "Finished Symphony". The song had the melodies of classical music combined with the fast paced beats of techno. Definitely one of my very favorite tracks off the cd. I loved Way Out West's "Mindcircus". The vocals were just awesome. I already have the remix version of Sarah McLachlan's "Sweet Surrender" and Jan Johnston's "Flesh" (DJ Tiesto Mix) but no sweat off my back. Being a hater of Fatboy Slim's music, I was surprised to find myself digging his song "Star 69". That was something that I didn't expect. My other two personal favorite tracks on the cd was Dusted's "Always Remember to Respect and Honor Your Mother part 1" and Delerium's "Innocente" remixes. My one slight problem with this cd was the fact that "Innocente" remix was edited. I have the remixes to that song and the Deep Dish Gladiator mix on "Plastic 5" was butchered because on the single the verses were sung, not on this comp's version. The least the people behind this series could have done was mentioned that it was edited. Otherwise I loved volume 5.
Nice blends of the familiar with the new.......2001-08-04
Yes, a lot of these tracks are available on various compilation and mix CDs but I still enjoyed having them on one CD. Particular highlights are Maurice's "Feline", Utah Saints ethereal "Lost Vagueness" and a great Way Out West remix of BT's "Shame" I knocked the score down a bit for the inclusion of Fatboy Slim's "Star 69" which is too a pedestrial choice for an otherwise well-done compilation.

Album Description
"Bottom of the Fifth" is the fifth volume of the Diamond Cuts series of baseball song collections. The collections are inspired by a passion for baseball, music, and helping others. The proceeds from Diamond Cuts will provide funding for Hungry for Music, a Washington, DC-based charity.
This is another musically diverse compilation featuring 20 songs about our national pastime and includes songs about baseball personalities such as: Joe DiMaggio, Mickey Mantle, Walter Johnson, Ozzie Smith, Ichiro, Bonehead Merkle, John Rocker, Bill Buckner and more.
Songs with the following baseball themes are also included: Negro Leagues, the remembrance of players who played for the love of the game, a songwriter paying tribute to his major league dad, playing ball in the neighborhood, and a washed up player who finds solace in the bottle.
Customer Reviews:
Fifth volume of outstanding baseball songs.......2004-12-28
The fifth volume of this series follows the same fine format as the first four: a wide range of artists and styles singing songs about the American pastime. A few of the artists, such as Sam Bush and Kinky Friedman, are seasoned pros in the country and folk arenas, and three (George Winston, Dan Bern and Chuck Brodsky) continue their uninterrupted streak of appearances on all five volumes. The bulk of the roster will be new faces for most listeners.
Executive producer Jeff Campbell continues to call-up stellar contributions that meld the artists' love of music and baseball into an inseparable whole. There's Cajun, bluegrass, country, folk, jump blues and jazz, in the service of superstars like Joe DiMaggio, Walter Johnson and Ozzie Smith, and historic error-makers like Fred Merkle and Bill Buckner. There's a Yiddish version of "Take Me Out to the Ballgame," as well as another fine instrumental version to complement those on the first four volumes.
This disc is filled with childhood memories and adult ruminations that testify to the ways in which baseball is intricately interwoven into American culture. Other sports can only dream of such longstanding personal connections. Profits from this series provide funding for the Washington, DC based "Hungry for Music" charity.
NPR reviewed it.......2002-07-11
Okay, I haven't bought it yet -- but I heard clips from each of the songs on the Album this morning on National Public Radio and I immediately wanted it. Wide variety of song writers and performers and the songs are passionate and political and most of all FUNNY. I plan to buy three copies -- one for each baseball fan in my life.

I have purchased a lot of the yogafit cd's and this slow flow series is the best! The beats are smooth and very tribal all at the same time. I use them in almost every class and play them a lot at home for my own personal practice.

Very Solid 2 disc compilation album of songs f/ Daz - maybe 4.5 stars.......2005-08-15
Dat n!gga Daz brings us his 1st "Who Ride Wit Us" compilation with 25 songs featuring Daz. I have 11 or 12 on other albums but the ones I don't have I'm glad I picked this up to get them cause they're tight. It has 1 classic, 3-5 almost classics, 3 or 4 I skip, 1 or 2 ok songs, and the rest are good. Guests are on every song but there's plenty of songs for you to get a good deal of Diggy Daz. Some bigger names from the west are on here as well as some guests from the dirty south, and even a couple from the east. Production is great on most of the songs and from some consistently solid and known producers do most of them. Daz does 7 songs, Mike Dean does 4, Soopafly does 3, and Fred Wreck, LT Hutton, Young Bleed, Snoop Dogg, Warren G, Blaqthoven, Battlecat, Jermaine Dupri and 3 people I never heard of all do 1 song. A must have for Daz fans or fans of that west coast bounce upbeat type music.

One of Tha Best compalation album i heard Song R good to Ride to!!!!!!!!!!!!
Daz strikes gold with "Featured Artist" compilation.......2004-02-28
Daz Dillinger showed the rest of these indy cats why he is the king of this "independent game" when he dropped this 25-track double CD featuring some of his best work as a "featured artist". With cuts by Warren G, Scarface, Xzibit, M.C. Eiht, and his big cousin, Snoop Dogg, this CD is full of underappreciated bangers though it does have its share of filler tracks as well.
On the first disc, Daz opens with an intro before jumping into a Fredwreck remix of Xzibit's Crip-walk anthem, "Git Cha Walk On" also featuring WC. All three artists come tight with dope verses and a solid hook while Fred earns his reputation as the West Coast's most well-kept secret in the production department. Daz closes out the song with a special shout-out where he praises his cousin, Snoop and the rest of Tha Dogg Pound while adding some less-flattering words for Suge Knight and the Death Row crew. L.T. Hutton comes through with some smooth production on "We Yell Hey Hoo", Daz's collaboration with No Limit's C-Murder (originally released as "Murder And Daz" on C's "Bossaline" LP). The hits don't stop there either as Daz links up with Hits From The LBC for "Here We Go Now" and Helter Skelter for "Who Wants To Be A Dope MC?". Also included is one of the few post-Death Row "Dogg Pound" reunion tracks as Snoop attempts to kill all the break-up rumors by joining back up with Daz & Kurupt on "Don't Be Foolish". The track is somewhat underwhelming considering its premise but overall, it's not bad. It's all followed up by "OG 2 Me" where the underrated duo of Daz and Kurupt join forces with the legendary Scarface for a trunk-rattling monster of a track. This was taken from Face's "Me & My Homies" compilation though Jayo Felony's verse was taken out due to his much-publicized problems with Tha Pound.
The second disc opens with a Battlecat remix of "It Might Sound Crazy", a single off Daz's Death Row debut, which features Bay area legend, Too $hort. The second track on disc two, "Your Love Is Tha S--t" featuring S.F.T.P. is a nice mixture of gangsta funk and 90's R&B. Daz's fantastic collabo with Soopafly, "Put The Monkey In It", a single from the Nothing 2 Lose soundtrack is another excellent addition. Perhaps the biggest standout track on the second disc is "Bustaz", a 19th Street Records posse cut featuring a host of LBC rappers including Tray Deee and Lil' C-Style paying homage to Ice-T's "Colors". Lil' Style's opening verse steals the show here. Daz also tries to show his range here by including "unofficial" remixes of Usher's hit single, "U Make Me Wanna" and Jennifer Lopez's "Play". The J-Lo remix seems like a poor attempt to make a commercial cross-over though hearing the clean-cut diva tell the DJ to play her "muthaf--kin song" is worth a listen or two as is Daz declaring on the outro that he is glad Lopez broke up with Puffy "so now he can get the p--sy". The inclusion of "Why Oh Why" featuring Warren G and Tha Dogg Pound will certaintly make this a worthwhile purchase for anyone who doesn't already own Warren's "I Want It All" LP.
If you're not a hardcore fan of Daz or that DPG sound then this album probably isn't for you. There is a nice mixture of rough and raw gangsta anthems, laid-back cuts, and some commercial-style music though, so even the most casual rap listener will more than likely find a few songs on either disc that will make their head nod. The idea of throwing together a collection of one artist's soundtrack and guest appearances (which actually dates back to Ice Cube's "Featuring Ice Cube" album) so that their fans can get a lot of their rare material without having to buy about fifteen different albums is actually a great idea that isn't used nearly enough, these days.
Good Album.......2004-02-20
If you are a fan of Daz or West Coast music then get the album. 2 discs of quality music. There are a few filler tracks but thats a minor problem. Favorite tracks: Put Tha Monkey In It, Why Oh Why and Crippin'. Definently check it out.

Most of these tunes aren't worth listening to, but some are amongst the best West Coast Gangster Rap tunes I've heard. Had Daz kept them his new solo album he could have produced a classic. Hey Hoo is produced by LT Hutton, OG 2 Me by Mike Dean and Why oh why by Warren G. Daz should get more producers to work on his albums. He is one of the best producers about but could do so much more with a bit more variety.

Customer Reviews:
A fine compilation of up and coming artists........1999-06-01
The CD is a fine compilation of up and coming artists. The stronger musicians include Shannon Worrell, noteworthy for her previous performances with Dave Matthews, and Hootie and the Blowfish.
Aware Compilation put similar up-and-coming artists together.......1998-10-28
This aware compilation has fresh, progressive rock groups such as better than ezra, vertical horizon, jackopierce, and wootie and the blowfish. Most bands on this compilation have tasted fame, and many are about to break through. For a great mix tape, already made, this is the CD to get.
Aware II is a bit bland, but still worth checking out.......1998-10-26
I bought this CD at the HORDE fest in 1996. The Edwin McCain, and Shannon Worrell (Dave Matthews sings backup) songs are wonderful, as is the rest of the CD. My only conplaint is that it gets a little bland, but it's definetely a CD worth checking out.
