I found this album difficult to analyze. I think DJ Vadim brings his dark cerebral sounds to blend nicely with rhymes from antipop and some DJ Primecuts scratches. the combined elements cause hallucinations when listened to in a comfortable dark place. It's good to hear that soft analog popping in the background too. The liner notes - spectacular - they provide accurately what the album's attempt is.... to provide stimulation.
Another great antipop collaboration that stands tall next to if not dwarfs The Ends Against the Middle and Vs. Mathew Shipp

DJ Vadim spins records (a lot).......2000-06-30

This is the middle ground between DJ Vadim's "USSR Repetoire" and the latest "USSR: Life From the Other Side." We occasionally see Vadim backing off to showcase the rappers, but he's still in control, displaying much of his darker side which we didn't really see on his new record. The Anti-Pop Consortium's rapping along with Vadim's beats are truly groundbreaking. Essential, baby! Essential!
