If Sheryl Crow joined the 80ýs band Heart............2003-03-07
"I didn't see the signs, Stepped over the line," Alice Templeton sings on April fool of One Bad Habit's self-titled debut album. One Bad Habit offers a nicely produced set of nine tracks. The ninth a remix of the first track "April Fool", with a twist, it's like the murder mystery with multiple endings. The song Two Hearts stands out on this album for it's ability to accomplish everything a good pop song should, yet it does it without adhering to the template of musical structure we've all been programmed to expect. When it comes to lyrics the album seems not to find a direction. The songs are both beautiful and meaningful. If Sheryl Crow joined the 80's band Heart, I believe this is what they would sound like. This CD would be one that stays in your player and not on the shelf, a welcomed addition to your music collection.
Great first effort!.......2003-03-05
Reminiscent of various female-lead '80s bands (Pat Benetar, The Motels) this is a strong first effort. The band is tight and sounds like they've been playing together a long time. I can't wait to hear their next disc!

I can't say enough about Bett Butler and this awesome awesome album. I listen to it over and over and over again. She has an amazing voice that has tremendous depth and texture and she sings with such emotion and artful phrasing. I never get tired of it. And her song lyrics...well, she makes me laugh and cry and yearn and rejoice. And the music fan from San Antonio is right...she should be at the Blue Note.

This is an amazing collection of original music. Every song on the album is a masterpiece. It won't be long before Ms. Butler is playing standing room only at the Blue Note!!
