About the Artist
Chicago has always taken its music seriously. In terms of pure popularity, the city's historic blues and jazz scene has defered to today's independent rock and hip-hop crowds, but an inherited, honest soul continues to govern Chicago's aural output. Be it Midwestern mentality, conscious ties to the past, second-city-smugness, or a combination of all three, Chicago has never had the Crunk or the Bling, and is just fine with that.

Thaione Davis (pronounced tie-wan) is in some ways a product of his South-Side environment. Thaione's deep understanding of hip-hop music is rooted in years of first-hand experience, late nights in the studio, and fervent crate digging. Thaione is an emcee, producer, and DJ whose understanding of and passion for music are the dual drivers of his work.

In 2002, Thaione's independently acclaimed "Progress" showcased a focused blend of conscious, Blue-Note meets-B-Boy hip-hop. In the coming year, Hong Kong Recordings will present Thaione's self-produced single "StrictlyConfidential." As the first step towards Thaione's sophomore album,"Situation Renaissance," "Confidential" is a expansive demonstration of Thaione's organic hip-hop, jazz, funk, and global roots.- Honesty is one of Chicago's highest musical offerings. True to this city-bred virtue, Thaione considers his past and future seriously in "Progress" and the upcoming "Strictly Confidential" and "Situation Renaissance." Thaione's brand of hip-hop is a perfect snapshot of a city standing still while in constant motion.

This CD was released in 1987 under EMI "Music for Pleasure". Was the only one work of Ronnie in DDD, a recording made by Seaward. Was his latest work before die. The title was "For all seasons" CD-MFP 6016 A wonderful recording and a master work on piano and orchestra.
In this re-release there is a missing song, "Summertime", that appear on the original CD and not in this one.
Ronnie had recorded some of songs some years ago for Readers Digest label, under his name and the name of "Richard Alden": as April in Paris, Early Autum (you can find the original version in the album Moonglow, 4 CDs), september song and winter world of love). I really love that 2 versions, are different.
I will buy this CD, because I only have 1 CD of "For all seasons", a gift of Ronnie himself to me (I'm very proud of that!).

I AM SURE GLAD THAT I WAS ABLE TO OBTAIN THIS CD THROUGH THE "OTHER BUYING OPTIONS". OTHERWISE, I WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN ABLE TO HAVE ONE OF MY FAVORITE RONNIE ALDRICH SONGS ("EARLY AUTUMN"). I FIRST HEARD THIS SONG DONE BY RONNIE ON AN EASY LISTENING FM RADIO STATION IN CHICAGO BACK IN 1981. I THOUGHT THAT "SEPTEMBER SONG", "FOREVER AUTUMN" AND "WHEN WINTER COMES". WERE ALSO DONE WELL. RONNIE ALDRICH, ALONG WITH THE ORCHESTRA THAT HE HAS ACCOMPANING HIM, DO SUCH A SUPERB JOB IN CONVEYING THE BEAUTY OF A SONG.

              Tchaikovsky Piano Concerto #1 is my favorite Romantic piano concerto and this version by Ronan O'Hara is one of the best you can find. The concerto is coupled with excerpts from The Seasons (sadly without the famous "June"). The playing is excellent and the sound is of high quality. (Incidentally, the Penguin guide rates this CD as outstanding.) If you are looking for an inexpensive yet high quality performance of this concerto, look no further. Highly recommended!
