HIT & MISS MATERIAL FROM TILA.......2005-11-17

This was Tilas follow up sophomore effort to his classic debut album, 1988s 'Act A Fool'.

But 1990s 'At Your Own Risk' is no where near as solid as his debut. The material is a bit patchy. DJ Pooh doesnt really hook Tee up with many good beats. The album has its moments, the title track and 'Diss You' are cool, but the highlight is the classic & catchy single 'Played Lika Piano' with Ice Cube, which rides a super cool piano riff.

Overall of King Tees 4 albums he released in his heyday (1988-95) this is the weakest. His 1993 follow up 'Tha Triflin Album' was a strong album, but 1994s super cool, New York-flavoured 'IV Life' is his greatest IMO. This album is strictly for King Tee completists...

VERY TITE ALBUM!!.......2005-05-14

This album is a hot one! If u are a gospel R&B fan this is a definate must-have.

I first heard speaks with 'Jesus is Real'. This song is a gospel-banger. I found out Speaks was the singer of the song so i had to check out the album.
The production is very good. Half the album has an 'R&B' sound and half has a 'gospel' sound.

Well worth 5 stars... Go pick it up!

This man can sing!I heard him sing on adina howard album and kept up with his career ever since.His 1st cd was a r&b cd and it was a minor hit on a independant label. THis is is gospel cd and it is wonderful. You can feel his strong voice in every song mixed with a hip hip influence. If you like hip hop and gospel such as kirk franklin buy this.

Praise the Lord! I would like to say that this cd is awesome. Don't get caught-up in the beat, but listen to the words of the songs. They will minister to your soul! I love "Praise Your Problems Away," Whew! My God! That song ministers to my soul! Just think about what your going through when this song is on, and believe me before the song is over. Your problem isn't as big as you've made it. God Bless!

Good Album.......2002-06-14

Praise at your own risk" is destined to be a leader in contemporary gospel music. Bold words I hear you say but from the MaryMary/Campbell opener of "I just wanna (dance now)" your appetite is certainly whetted. The soulful sounding Speaks is on production and with most songs either written or co-written by him this album is exciting. It's inspirational, innovative and positively addictive. Praise is certainly the central theme and Mr Speaks is not holding back. From the ballad inspired "Lord of life" to the heart-felt "All I need", get ready to have the album on constant repeat.
