Customer Reviews:
Incredible album.......2007-06-07
This is an amazing album no matter what way you look at it. If you're looking for classic Virtuoso in terms of some intellectual battle rhymes, you'll find a good share of those. If you're looking for a political perspective on the world of 2004 through today, then this is also a C.D. that you need to check out. Virtuoso is the real sh-t in underground rap, and this album does a good job in justifying his skills as he further distinguishes his position as an M.C.
Why are the other 2 reviews only rating this 4 stars?.......2007-02-26
This album will always be one of my top choice albums. As for the one review saying the political aspect getting too "redudent" I disagree completely. I think this album had the perfect balance of Raw lyrical tracks, Conceptual tracks, Political tracks. It is one of my only cds i can pop in and listen to from beginning to the end. I notice alot of soul and heart coming from this album and everyone should listen to this CD for that reason.
Almost as good as his debut album.......2004-12-02
Big Virt's debut album "World War One: The Voice of Reason" will always be a tough album to beat for Virtuoso. His sophomore album "Evolution of the Torturer" is almost as good, but lacks the diverse production his first album had. Although there are hot guest spots including Jaz-O, Del the Funky Homosapien, Akrobatik, Rise & Shine, Slaine, and Torch....the album just isn't as good as his first. The concept of album is a very political one too, which can be a big turnoff for some, and does prove to get a tad redundant. Even though this album isn't as good as I was hoping for it to be, it is still better than most. The music and production isn't as good this time around, but Virtuoso's lyrics are always worth the price of admission.
Finally Virtuoso does something new.......2004-11-19
I am glad to see Virt back on the scene he has some really incredible lyrics. This album is pretty hot, the production is lacking a little in spots and the content can get a little too intense to chill out to, but all in all it's a banger and if you want some amazing spitting defintely check it out.
