About the Artist
In 1999, Major made a name for himself with the debut single "Zone of My Own", which was an instant hit on WGCI's "Slam it or Jam it". Major was also featured on a Chicago compilation album in early 2000, with not one, but, two heavy hitters, "Robbery" and "Two Hott", this help create his strong following in the Midwest. Major has been performing in local clubs and colleges, visiting local and college radio stations, doing guest spots, offering a freestyle here or there. Also doing promos for dj shows such as, power 92 Spank Boogie's, "Boogie Knights" show, The Chocolate Jock's and 107.5 wgci's Bad Boys.
In 2001, In Da Lab records brought you the highly anticipated album, from Chi-Town's lyrical fiend, Major. The album "Master and Juggernaut of Rhymes", which features the smash hit single, "It'z Me", that's burning the mainstream airwaves. Gets play on Power 92 The Chocolate Jocks "Power hour" show, on Spank's "Boogie Knights, and also on WGCI's "Home Jam". Major receives heavy rotation at these college radio stations, WHPK, WKKC and WNUR. The album also includes future classic, such as, "Liquidda", "Bustin Loose" and the cunning tale about the "General's Daughter". The album has been getting great reviews in the streets and on the Internet.
Major is currently working hard in the studio on his second album. He does not want to fall into the sophomore jinx and judging from the songs on the "Coming 2002" CD, songs like "They ain't Ready", "Lost Child" and "Got Lyle On Da Track", this new album can't go wrong. With his distinctive voice, sharp delivery, skillful metaphors, strong will and determination, Major is on his way to becoming a household name.
