Product Description
Most of you know Propaganda as one of KRS One's hype men, however he has a cd of his very own. Dynamic, soulful, youth ministry focused, passionate and focused on the cross are just a few words that describe Propaganda. The Uprok Records project Out Of Knowhere represents life experiences that 23 year old Jason Petty, aka Propaganda, has been through. That wealth of experience has been reflected not only in his life but also on this album.

With an uncompromising message intertwined with hot rhythms and beats, Los Angeles based Propaganda lyrically puts together a potent and relevant album that reaches across the spectrum of youth and pop culture. He is eloquently bold in the message of each song and never does shy away from a strong poetic element in his music.

5 out of 5 stars different.......2004-09-03

This was a different album coming for the tunnel rats not using Dert as the main producer but Donovan Henry instead and it comes off nice Fav. tracks keep it live, we are, do let us lose it, and Keep signing. But this ablum does just ride of the production but Props flow which is bouncy and animated and very on point. If you like the Roots Common, or Mos Def this is good album to check out

4 out of 5 stars Sweet...........2004-03-01

Propaganda bursts onto the scene with this at times neo-soul influenced, poetically inclined debut. As part of the 13-or-so deep Tunnel Rats crew, he has to find a way to stand out, and that he does. Songs like "Keep it Live", and "Don't let us lose it" showcase his supreme flow, "Keep on singing" allows him to encourage the listener in hard times, while he tagteams with fellow Tunnel Rat, DOKument on "I Know" to rip the mic with sick battle-esque rhymes. The beats are a lot more melodic and soulful than usual from the TRz camp, but they allow Props the space to shine. Look forward to more stuff from Props and his fellow Tunnel Rats

5 out of 5 stars Hmm.......2003-05-18

"Don't Let Us Lose it" is a great song and worth the entire cost of the cd from my repeated listens on sphereofhiphop.com...

Who cares about Prop's name? and if it's the same as some 80's band... If people only realized how much crud came into existence merely because of the 80's...

1 out of 5 stars Caution...May not be who you think it is........2003-05-07

This is not the 80's pop group featuring Claudia Brucken, Michael Mertens, Susanne Freytag, and Ralf Dorper. This is Jason Petty, a West Coast based youth pastor and member of the Tunnel Rats crew. I have not listened to this album but I rated it 1 star because he should not have used the name of another group. I guess expecting a new album by the real Propaganda was just "Wishful Thinking".
