Acid Rain [Explicit Lyrics]
Editorial Reviews
Product Description
For over ten years, Esham has been synonymous with underground hardcore rap in Detroit, influencing an entire school of rappers that came to be known as "horrorcore". The most significant of these groups, Insane Clown Posse, founded Psychopathic Records ten years ago, a label dedicated to putting out the most hardcore rap in the business. Now, the two powerhouses of the underground have joined forces to present "Acid Rain", a greatest hits collection from the man who started it all. With beats hard enough to raise the dead and lyrics straight from the underworld, this album is sure to be judged as the greatest collection of hits ever from this master of horror. "Acid Rain" will also feature four new tracks produced specifically for this album, including cuts with label-mates Insane Clown Posse and Twiztid. After 12 years of innovating his own style, Esham has found a renewed direction and fire for his career in the rap industry, determined to present a gruesome depiction of today's wretched human spirit through the use of his trademark wicked imagery, all the while offering his insight on man's need for personal introspection and pinpointing the cause of one's lack of civility. A new era of lyrical brutality has awoken at Psychopathic Records with the arrival of Esham, and the underground will never be the same.

Hmmm.......2007-06-14
I'll stick to the real and original "ACID RAIN" by Mad Dog & L.A.
good summary, but could've had better songs.......2006-11-13
Even though i feel that this is a good introductory for Esham to the juggalo community, there's a lot better songs that could've been represented on this CD to call it his "Greatest Hits" release. What about classic tracks like "Charlie Manson", "You Better Ask Somebody", "How do i Plead to Homicide" (the original, not the edited one), "666", and others. Putting the track "Panic Attack" on this CD wasn't a necessary move. you can probably predict that Violent J wanted that song on there to show-off to the juggalos that he did a song with Esham previously before Psychopathic.
The photos in the album were stupid as all hell. If you're gonna make a greatest hits album for the wicked godfather of acid rap, you can do better than putting Esham in a forest setting with a giant Psychopathic rain coat on! it's not even raining in the picture! wtf!
good compilation...new songs were off the chain, but better songs could've been picked. i have a feeling that Esham wasn't solely responsible for the outcome of this album.
i love J and esham to death but..........2006-05-18
this was just really bad they really shortened all of his old songs. If they really wanted to have 29 tracks they could've just made it a 2 cd album that way they could play the whole songs.
Psychopathic just won't do that for some reason whenever theres a greatest hit cd
Maybe if they didn't charge you full price it would'nt be such a rip off. the only reason it's worth gettin is for the new songs
Times Change, Art, Hype, and Esham "The Unholy".......2005-07-05
Theres a couple things you need to know about this CD and Esham "The Unholy" alright. For one, this CD is made kind of like ICPs The Mutilation Mix. This is Eshams 3rd Greatest Hits CD and all the songs except for the new ones are cut short. So now you know. When Esham was "Unholy" was before Closed Casket. Just like Violent J said in his narrations.
Eshams BEST oldschool "unholy" songs are as follows
1) Kissing Bandit: Boomin Words From Hell
2) Devils Night: Hellterskkkelter
3) Homey Don't Play: Homey Don't Play
4) Living In Incest: Judgement Day vol. 2
5) Jaw Bone: Erotic Poetry
6) Hoe Role: Judgement Day vol. 2
7) The Reel Feel: Erotic Poetry
8) Kkkill The Fetus: Kkkill The Fetus
9) Freak Nasty: Kkkill The Fetus
10) Traces Of My Bloodtype: Maggot Brain Theory
11) Coming Out A Coma: Maggot Brain Theory
Theres a couple more, but it goes like this people. Times change, things become outdated with each new teen movie. Theres a couple of more oldschool flavour that is "wicked". I haven't heard Judgement Day vol. 1 yet. Those songs right there are the ones that sound get you pumped. Some of the lyrics to Tales From The Lotus Pod are oldschool Esham lyrics. For example that song headaches where Monox Boogie said "I cut the head off the devil and I throw it at you" ***that comes from the song "Headhunter" from Kkkill The Fetus. ICP completely remade the song "Wake The Dead" from Judgement Day vol 2 *** on Hells Pit it's called "The Witch". Twiztid used that lyric about "her mouth having stretchmarks", well that is from "The Jawbone" from Erotic Poetry. Blaze talks about "Jawbone" on a Dark Lotus song as well. Theres just little things here and there. But there is one thing you should know about oldschool Esham. Like Violent J quipped once "You could barely hear a rap with all that bass". *** Oldschool Esham is notorious for using bass. Esham had a side project going on too, it was called "Natas". Natas was like Esham's version of Dark Lotus. He had that one rapper TNT in Natas. Theres a lot of things to Esham. Acid Rain is alright, I'm not going to lie. It was probably made that way because back then everybody liked the beats and everything. Sure it could have been done way better but, c'mon now who we kidding ***when has a compilation ever been great? It's always missing your favorite things right? Times do change.
Esham "The Unholy" ***His BEST work after Closed Casket
1) Tounges (Great Eminem diss CD)
2) Dead Flowers (Enough Said)
3) Bruce Wayne
4) A1 Yola
See, one of these days that list might be outdated who knows. Theres no telling what the future holds. However I recomend these CDs you can't go wrong if you buy those.
Anyways, on the subject of Acid Rain. There are new songs on it. That is why you should buy it ICP wreck on that CD. Where Violent J said "I'm Satan bitch 666 God damn". SoopaVillains might come out soon, who knows sometimes stuff just doesn't work out and gets delayed or scrapped. I hope that SoopaVillains is going to be great. Hey Juggalos, and Juffalos, you know what, you might also like movies by John Waters. You might like Fritz The Cat movies, he isn't just the guy who makes beats for Twiztid. Where do you think he got the name Fritz The Cat from exactly? Fritz The Cat was a comic book and he has 2 movies out. Juggalos might also like GG Allin he's a psychopath. Juggalos are great aren't they?
You know there is a lot of things out there that people would like, I'm just glad it's underground so it's real fans appreciate it.
C'mon somebody have the audacity to say that my review on Esham's Acid Rain wasn't correct I can just imagine it now, how many people say that my review helped them out. SO IF MY REVIEW HELPED YOU OUT>>> SAY IT DID
Stop The Whack Reviews.......2004-03-15
This Cd is exactly what I thought it would be. It has 29 tracks and if you people thought these were the whole songs what were you smoking? Obviously Esham didn't release all 2 min songs his songs were usually longer than that. My only gripe with this CD is the song redemption, it is a dissapointing ending to a great CD. This CD is good for people who have never heard Esham so they can get a basic flavor for him. Seasoned Esham listeners may be annoyed with not hearing the whole song, but a good mix none the less. I wish it had I'll be glad when your dead on it, because then it would be a complete Esham mix.

Album Description
"Acid Rain" is a truely unique CD that cannot be catagorized into any one certain genre. It's a combination of hardcore rock, hip hop, acid, trance, electronica, blues, jazz and DJ style, all wrapped up into one. Each song takes you on a different trip into the wonderland of music. The CD opens with "Holiday", a heavy song dedicated to the movie "Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas". "And She Knows" and the title cut "Acid Rain" drift into a more standard rock style, but the excitement is still there. "Stickin' To The Walls", a heavy reggae dance tune, has already become a Rave favorite in Los Angeles, as has "Grandpa Is The Anti-Christ"."Oh, Come On" is another reggae song about the world situation today. There is only one cover song on the CD, A3's "Hypo Full Of Love" retitled here as "Shoot Me Up".Maddog & L.A. even showed the courage to include 2 instrumental tracks here, "Invert This!!" & "Skinny"."Crazy Eyes" is about Charles Manson and "Continental" offers thoughts! of moving to Paris. If you like Lupine Howl, Primal Scream or Death In Vegas, you'll love "Acid Rain", as it's a combination of all these styles rolled up into one.The material here speaks for itself and covers the musical gamut from one end to the other. Kait Kingston's backing vocals add just the right touch to make this CD a winner.

Angry Retro-Anarchy Brilliantly Meets the 21st Century!.......2003-10-21
This is an age where so many artists think they are creating something new and genuine simply by taking it to the extreme. Within the dozens of Johnny Knoxvilles, Joanna Wents, and Backyard Wrestlers who think that true creativity abounds merely by going overboard, we occasionally encounter a visionary who courageously reaches into the brain stem of brilliance, and pulls out the bouquet of creative architecture that gives us the artistic endorphins society so desperately needs. Maddog & L.A.'s second release "Acid Rain" accomplishes this feat. While this group does march upon new and untrodden ground, they also reach into the heart of past influences that cry out the need for unleashed musical battle cries. From the opening tune "Holiday" to the final stanza of "Skinny," this CD may just be one of the most important underground works of this era.
"Acid Rain" succeeds where so many arrogant new-age types fail by bringing back the spirit of a radical sound that many thought was but a flash-in-the-pan many decades ago. While Maddog & L.A.'s instruments are not identical, their computerized genius brings back the anarchic spirit of the Moog-Synthesizer that stormed the Western world in the late 1960s by radicals like Gershon Kingsley and communal groups like "Hot Butter."
The works in "Acid Rain" reunite the spirit of The Moog with the 21st Century not by remakes of "Popcorn" or "Mah-Na-Mah-Na," but by bringing out the methodical slithering buzz of an everlasting keyboard note, bringing us into a hypnotic state that, ironically, awakes us into realizing that so much of society's squeaky-clean TV and music has no soul, and is merely overcooked and underfed. If philosopher John Stuart Mill were reincarted today, he would no doubt embrace this work as his first born.
Past practicioners of the Moog-Synthesizer were clever activists that keenly disguised works like "Moi Non Plus/J'taime" as Manciniesque happy tunes perfect for family night at the local Roller-Rink, yet the happy-peppy tunes were like mistletoe, lulling society into a false sense of boredom. Before anybody saw it coming, one Moog-Musician released an album called "Hair Pieces," a muzak rendition of the finest songs from the radical 1960s rock-opera "Hair."
Maddog & L.A. takes the artful leap of "Hair Pieces" one step further by creating musical journeys like "Somewhere in NYC," or igniting the cry to break up the lie that is the nuclear family in "Grandpa Is the Anti-Christ." Never has biting satirical lyrics mixed with gentle organic Moog instrumentals brought about such true artistic expression. The audio-angst these tunes bring up finds me releasing my rage with lonely screams as I pound the walls surrounding me in horror as I partake in my own haunted suburbia. If you want to intensify the effect, try playing the song "And She Knows" simultaneously with the abovementioned "Popcorn" by "Hot Butter." (while "Popcorn has been covered many times, only Stan Free, the front man of "Hot Butter," released it's true societal rage).
Maddog & L.A. have issued a unique and unusually gifted package in "Acid Rain." Buy this CD. Its message and music will liberate you.
More fun than a German suplex.......2003-10-14
If you don't take yourself or this CD too seriously, you'll love it."Holiday" is the first song and it's supposedly about the movie "Fear & Loathing In L.V." and as such it hits the spot. In fact, speaking of Las Vegas, Maddog & L.A. could easily be compared to Death In Vegas and other groups that refuse to be held down by one genre and one sound.
"Acid Rain" is all over the place. The song "Continental" sounds vocally like a spaced Issac Hayes, and that's a good thing in my book!"Stickin' To The Wall" is a great reggae ode to the joys of chronic. This is a CD that you need to buy.
Haunting Revival of the Soul!.......2003-01-28
Los Angeles is frequently accused of living the personification of plastic surgery souls in despair. If such pseudo-liberals from states like my own would wake up and taste the coffee ---not merely smell the coffee but taste it--- they could learn that works of art like "Acid Rain" are reasons why Southern California is truly a cavern of brilliant reality; disguised as neon cosmetics, yet earthier than the plethora of so-called naturalists who fail to realize there is more to reality than eating plain yogurt and chewing bark off trees.
The first tune from "Acid Rain" that I sampled was the Guajardian Feminist ode entitled "And She Knows." It was a stormy day, even by Seattle standards, and this piece of music grabbed me by the scruff of my soul and hurled me from my downward-spiraling depression. Anybody who has ever witnessed the work of brilliant performance artists like Annie Sprinkle, Lene Lovich, Sue Hankins, Dr. Jerry Graham or Johnny Legend will immediately grasp and nurture the seething explosive message "And She Knows" carries, and will no doubt embrace the modern day feminist that celebrates the sensual world rather than decry it. I found myself moshing around my apartment in ecstacy, realizing that the eagle no longer withers upon the leafless tree in the wilderness.
The group called Maddog & L.A. originally attacked our audio senses with an album entitled "Deface the Art." While that CD was a harsh mix of electronic keyboards and grinding feedback, "Acid Rain" serves up a more thorough and enraged cry for the politically active to abandon their phony ideals and pathetic cloak of martyrdom. The tune "Grandpa is the Anti-Christ" blasts of sheer audio-anti lyricism; not a word to speak, just a challenging banshee shreik that tears open our senses, yet healing our tortured souls.
"Acid Rain" is the overlooked CD of our day. Pass up this great CD and you miss out on audio-liberation.
WEIRDNESS OF THE GOOD KIND.......2003-01-19
I didn't know what to expect from this CD after reading the reviews and with no song samples available here, but I'm glad I took the chance and bought it. There's a lot of different sounding songs on Acid Rain and I like them all. I especially like the heavy metal hip hop sound of Crazy Eyes and Grandpa Is The Antichrist. My least favorite is Skinny, but it's still good if you like jazz based hip hop style.Acid Rain deserves 5 stars.
This Is Great.......2003-01-15
This new duo of Maddog & L.A.have come up with a real winner on their first CD (They actually recorded another CD in 2001 entitled "Deface The Art", but they haven't released it yet. I was lucky enough to obtain a copy and it's really far out space electronica with Goa & industrial influences, but let's get back to "Acid Rain" and the great songs on it. "Holiday", which is the first track, lets you know that you're in for some exciting and special songs here."Stickin' To The Wall" is a reggae anthem to Chronic aka skunkweed, and it's tounge-in-cheek lyrics are right on the money. The instrumental "Invert This!!" is a heavy handed powerful display of what Maddog & L.A. are all about. I've been listening to this CD over and over since I purchased it and I suggest that you do the same. It's a hip hopping, electronic rockfest. The guest vocals by Kait Kingston give it just the right touch. If you can imagine electronica/rock/metal with a southern gospel feel then you'll really enjoy "Shoot Me Up" (originally recorded by A3), "Holiday", "Stickin...", "Oh Come On", "Continental" & the title track "Acid Rain", as Kingston's backup vocals really make these songs winners. I know that Maddog & L.A. are beginning to get airplay in California and the midwest and I predict big things for them.Everyone should enjoy "Acid Rain".
