N Da Game Too Deep - An album of great promise.......2001-04-10

"N Da Game Too Deep" is the first release from the group Deep M-Pak. I found this CD to be, what I would call, 'musical hip-hop'. The producer on the tracks, A-Dub, shows incredible promise in the production arena. He does a superb job of mixing southern-flared beats with harmonic melodies. Of particular note, "Where My Doggs At?", "Kreepin", and "Throw Yo Hands Up" provide bouncy beats that should definitely get some club play. One track that particularly displays the musical promise of A-Dub is the track "Whatever's Clever". The music could really serve as the backdrop for a smooth slow jam. In an era of major 'over-sampling' (i.e. Puff Daddy), this album kept sampling to a minimum. One sample that I found to be unique was found in "Flossin". In the days of heave George Clinton, Roger and Zapp sampling, this particular song used Michael Jackson's "Wanna Be Startin' Something". An interesting choice that, while has never been used to my knowledge, proved to be a nice touch. All in all, this is a very good first effort from Deep-M-Pak. While some of the lyrics and flow could be tightened a bit, it's still an album that should provide hours of head-bobbin'.

Young Kyoz...........very talanted rapper , the production is very good.......i give it 5 stars cause i love his voice , works with Spice 1 , C-Bo , Outlawz , and others on this album
