Generation EFX [Clean]

Editorial Reviews
URB
The disappointing thing about Generation EFX is that most of the tracks never quite get off the ground.... It's more pleasing to the ear if MCs choose to rhyme over previously used samples rather than a ... Luther Vandross track. The better the sample, the easier it is for Das EFX to come off, but the problem is most of the tracks are below average.

3 out of 5 stars Das EFX - Generation EFX.......2006-03-19

A decent album buy Das EFX. Some of the tracks on here im feelin alot. Some on here I aint feel much at all. The same thing with the beats. A lot of the tracks sub and hit pretty hard so pretty straight beats. The lyrics are decent in some parts. But I heard some of there other sh** is iller so imma check that out. "Dead Serious" was really good. But if your a hiphop fan this album is worth it.

3 out of 5 stars An Average Release From The Innovators of the "No Diggety" Sound.......2006-01-02

6 years and 3 albums after their debut "Dead Serious", the collective duo of Drayz and Books release "Generation EFX" the title in strong reference of the popular generation x that spread like wildfire in the late 90's and in an attempt to keep up with the progression of mainstream hip hop, Das fell right in line with the rest of the pack. Gone were the "straight from the sewer", rugged and rough rhymes and in comes the well known hip hop/r&b collaboration that became the rave in hip hop in the late 90's. Also becoming close to absent were the "diggedy, widdedy" rhyme flows that put Das at hip hop's pinnacle in the early 90's(by the time, their most recent album to date "How We Do" was released, you didnt hear the "diggedy" maybe once, if you were lucky). As a fan, I was disappointed in the fact that Das felt like their name would have been forgotten about if they didnt join the ranks of "party pop" hip hop but I can understand their overall logic behind "Generation EFX" and many fans enjoy the "new" Das, personally, I'll stick with the classics.

4 out of 5 stars Phiggedy Phat.......2002-02-09

i disagree wit thoze who said this das cd iz whack... true, some songz r not nearly az catchy az some of their past work, but even a lesser das track iz better than most other artistz best work...this iz definitely not my favorite das album, but it iz still a great album... i would list das' albumz in this order... 1) Dead Serious 2) Hold It Down 3) Generation EFX 4) Straight Up Sewaside ... if ur a das fan, buy this album!

3 out of 5 stars Nappy Headed Underground Rappers on the Scene.......2001-06-01

Das keeps it realistic on this LP from '98, although they disappoint with a few tracks mostly everything here is suitable for the sewer. The production is pretty dirty done by 8*Off Aguilar, Rashad Smith(Woo Ha!), and Parrish Smith and the rhymes still make you wanna rock the ruff stuff. The ruff stuff here is Shine and Make Noize. Turn it up and Burn it Up!

5 out of 5 stars there the only artists to keep there own style ........1998-11-20

I give the album five stars because the album is very creative. The lyrics are tight and make sense not like other artists that don't make sense in there rhymes. Drazy and brooks are the nicest battellers to go back and forth on a mic.

2 out of 5 stars Disappointing.......1998-06-19

I liked Das-Efx's previous albums, but this one didn't cut it. The "Eye of the Tiger" sample on the title track is laughable. Rap Scholar is a decent single, but the rest of the album is weak.
