One of a kind!.......2000-09-20

B.P.M. is unlike any rap I have ever heard. It is a mix of old-school and jazz, but his style is so smooth and laid back that you can't help but love it the first time you hear it. This is one of my favorite albums and I would recommend it to anyone who remotely likes gospel rap.

Where do I start? The rhymes are clearly gospel, and BPM has a fun style and voice. Ill Harmonics is on there, and they drop some truly fresh rhymes. All of those guys are very creative, but the meanings of their songs are still clear. That's music to the ears when so many MCs today try too hard to be deep and communication gets hindered. To my delight, Ill Harmonics handle the production. Their beats are always cool, but it seems like they saved something special for this project. The instrumentals are exceptionally flavorful, maybe due to label differences? I don't know. They use some nice arrangements and neat sample layering that you don't get to hear that often in hip-hop today. Blake Knight can sing! I thought that was a sample at first. :) It's hard for me to name favorite songs on this. I think they all could be singles, and that's a sign of a good album. BPM, Play Dough, Blake Knight, and E-Roc do an outstanding job. This one of my favorite Wild 7 albums yet. I really took this one to heart. Good job fellas. God is working! Keep doin' it!

Excellent lyrics. Expert musicians........2001-05-01

This, the second album from The Undulating Band, shows how wonderfully talented this "once a trio" from the DFW area is and how they have developed. From the very first song, titled "You" you'll know this isn't the same sound as their first CD (although their first CD is a MUST HAVE).

Brilliant is the use of the bands 4th addition to their core, Don Cento and his melodic, almost hymnal qualities blended into each song.

The music writing of Brad Thompson, also the lead guitar and vocals, is outstanding. He delivers balanced and harmonic instumentals that will move you as you listen to "China" and his "Harmonica Song" will give you a feel for his wide range as a musician. Brad even digs out his old harmonica for this one.

Rich Stitzel (drums, percussion) not only allows you to adventure these tunes with him, but at times, you might even catch yourself replaying "One More Time" (which he and bassist, Aden Bubeck co-wrote) again just to hear how he wanted it played.

One can tell Aden does not let his bass guitar rest. He is expert, period. He even breaks off into a riff that will also have you hitting the replay button.

All in all, you will get your money's worth for this CD; it's bright, fun, and inspiring. And, as you listen to it, you might even find yourself UNDULATING.

These "Ultimate" albums by WRD rarely show up in the used marketplace. Why not? People do not let them go once they dance to them! The original recordings have been re-mastered for "strict tempo" dancing. Most tracks have famous vocalists, and the re-mastering is very clean.

The first disc has ten quicksteps and ten foxtrots. They all rate 4-4.5 stars.

The second disc has nine waltzes (the first three rate only 3.5 stars), six tangos, and four Viennese waltzes. The tangos and remaining waltzes rate 4 stars, with two exceptions. The first tango is hot. Tom Jones sizzles his "Pussycat." This is the good stuff! I wish I could rate it 4.5
