Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars Very nice music, but..........2005-12-28

If you are looking for incidental (background) music used in Monty Python's Flying Circus. This CD only contains one track, and it is the wrong version. The performance is completely different.

Knightsbridge March was The Dull Life of A City Stockbroker.

5 out of 5 stars Second volume of a highly entertaining series........2000-11-09

Light orchestral works are becoming something of a lost art, but the British have excelled at them -- the form is especially popular during their annual "Proms" concerts -- and this second volume of Hyperion's popular series continues in the same high-quality vein as Volume One. Twenty pieces by some of the best British light music composers on a generously-packed 78 minute CD -- no skimping here!

These aren't meant to be challenging works, but are skillfully orchstrated, excellently played, and well recorded. The variety is tremendous -- you may even recognize a few of the pieces and say to yourself, "so THAT'S where that tune came from!"

Perfect music for easy listening on a lazy Sunday afternoon, or anytime you need a break from the classical music heavyweights. Hyperion's packaging and booklet notes are, as usual for this premium classical label, uniformly excellent.

For more of this refreshing series, check out Volumes One and Three, as well as European Light Music Classics and American Light Music Classics.

4 out of 5 stars Solid mixtape fro Whoo Kid.......2006-02-22

The Haitian Sensation uses his recently found fame in the DJ game and released this 27 song/freestyle mixtape featuring some of the East's best and a few cats from down south as well. With probably a little over half of the tracks on here as freestyles, if you are into the mixtape type albums then this is one of the mixtapes you should have in your collection. Of the 27 songs (29 tracks total), you get 2 classic freestyles, 2 almost classics ones, only 1 I skip, 4 are ok, and the rest are good or real good. A very nice mixtape to add for your collection.

3 out of 5 stars HOOD RADIO Review.......2004-05-15

Music video and mainstream radio have often been the most popular methods of breaking a new artist in the music industry but with the rise of 50 Cent in 2002, America soon became aware of a different way to discover new talent. That way was the mixtape DJ. While most known exclusively through the local corner bootleg man, several mixtape DJ's including DJ Clue and Kay Slay have gone on to host their own major label mixtapes that can be found in any major retail outlet. Now, another of the hottest mixtape DJ's in the country is getting his chance. That DJ is Haitian-born DJ Whookid.

Whookid has debuted quite a number of underground exclusives on the mixtape circut and was one of the first to put 50 Cent into regular rotation. So it comes to no surprise that 50 shows up on a quite a few of the cuts on this 29-track compilation. The G-Unit commander-in-chief flips Black Rob's "Whoa" for "You Want Beef With Me?" and drops a quick verse with some assistance from Sean Paul on "Ya Not Ready". 50's G-Unit commrades can also be found dropping some nasty verses here and there. Tony Yayo contributes an untitled freestyle to the mix as he speaks on his partner's shooting. Yayo also partners up with 50 and Lloyd Banks for "We Run These Streets" which borrows the beat from Tha Eastsidaz's "G'd Up". Norega lets his feelings for former label, Tommy Boy Records, be known on one of two freestyles as he declares, "F--k Tommy Boy because them niggaz just suck". Nas also shows up to drop a quick freestyle over Dr. Dre's "High Speed" instrumental and collaborate with underrated Dogg Pound gangsta, Daz Dillinger for "Keep Goin". Whookid also manages to get some exclusives from LL Cool J, Wyclef Jean, Mobb Deep, Jadakiss, Juvenile, and Beanie Sigel to name a few. He also uses his first mainstream CD to showcase the talents of such upcoming star as D-Block's Jae Hood and underground favorite, Red Cafe, who contributes to four tracks including the show-stealing remix of "Talkin To Me" featuring Annmerie and Foxy Brown.

"Hood Radio" provides a nice mix of talented superstars and slept-on newcomers though it's not for everyone. Most of the tracks are short freestyles done over classic beats and while most of the songs on here would be ideal for any mixtape, if you are not a fan of that format, you might get tired of it quickly. I do commend Whookid for avoiding the somewhat-obnoxious mixtape trademark of yelling his name out over the track. It makes for good exposure on the radio when you're breaking an exclusive new single but it's rather pointless on a CD that is being sold based on your name anyway. If you're a fan of Whookid's underground mixtapes or a new fan wanting to know what the hype is about, this is a worthwhile purchase but if you're only interested in a handful of the big-name rappers listed on the album, you may want to hold off.

5 out of 5 stars Simply put it's brilliant.......2004-01-08

DJ Whookid really does shine in this comercial mixtape. It has some heavy beats and he is the reason why 50 cent is signed to shady/interscope, which is clearly visible from this. Probably the best mixtape that you can actually pick up from a store.

5 out of 5 stars WHOO KID THE GENIUS.......2003-05-13

THE ALBUM Is by far the best album out. They got lazy the hottest
rapper in the underground world right now on a song with prodigy
who is one of the hardest rappers in the game on the same track.
I would be more than glad to see a video for this one

5 out of 5 stars DJ Whoo Kid Delivers!.......2003-04-03

This is by far one of the hottest mixtapes out in the industry. It's definitley worth the money, and it's bound to blow up soon. It's good to see someone other than the Desert Storm camp and Funk Flex doing industry mixtapes, that corporate stores can actually carry.

For those of you who don't know, Whoo Kid is a DJ who has been working tightly with 50 Cent and Sha Money XL to produce the mixtapes that got him signed to Shady/Aftermath, and he also did the mixing and producing on the new REWIND Volume 1 DVD Magazine. He's all over the game, getting write-ups in all the industry magazines and websites.

This CD is definitley a key part of your collection! Among the highlights are: 50 Cent's "You Want Beef With Me?" (which is a crazy set of rhymes over the familiar "Like Whoa" track made famous by Black Rob); Red Cafe featuring Freeway "Move Out" (which is great exposure for Red Cafe - an underground sensation - and Freeway, whose new CD just dropped); Sheek's "D-Block Freestyle"; a Tony Yayo freestyle; and of course, a sick LL Cool J freestyle that really lays into his critics.

Oh, and here's the track listing, exactly as listed on the case.
