Customer Reviews:
Solid Southern Underground Album.......2005-08-11
Fesu is a little known artists from Houston, but don't get him confused with more mainstream Houston artists like Mike Jones, Paul Wall and Slim Thug. His music is gritty, gangsta, militant, violent and raw.
Lyrically, this album covers a variety of territory. Fesu pays props to the Nation of Islam on several occasions, but spends a number of tracks spiting gritty street narratives about gun violence and selling crack. Fesu seems very believeable and genuine, and this level of authenticity helps overcome his rather simplisitic flow.
"Blind, Crippled and Crazy" might be the albums most meaningful and insightful track.
The production is rather underground and was dated even when this album came out, but that should be expected with an independantly released, low budget album.
Fesu's lyrics are some of the most anti-white that I have ever heard, and if thats going to bother you I suggest you don't buy this album. For the price this album makes a great addition to the collection.
