This acoustic number (downloaded over 40,000 times on iTunes) has developed a special identity within the band's female fan base; their most successful merch item is a t-shirt that says, "I Am Delilah". Hey There, Plain White T's.......2007-07-06

I wish there were half stars, but this is closer to 4 than to 3 for me.

I'm older than the average demographic for this band, if I went to their concert I'd have to wear a "Delilah's Mom" t-shirt :) but Hey There Delilah has been playing on my radio station and the song just sticks in my head.

It is the song that every girl wishes someone would right for her. Unusual these days to hear something sweet about commitment, it's a beautiful sound with a beautiful message.

I bought the EP along with the All That We Need album. It's all young catchy pop (but not bubble-gum pop) stuff, airplay sort of stuff. It is not an acoustic band. Very enjoyable for a 46 yo mom and my 19 yo son doesn't mind me playing it in the car. He just doesn't appreciate me singing along...

BTW, I like it that the rest of the band is in the Delilah video. That shows class.

"Listen to my voice, it's my disguise . . ." My niece said: "I found out who did that song. The new Delilah song." I had completely forgotten but she said there was a song about Delilah. I named one of my dogs Delilah. She was a stray that some family found, and put a flyer up at the dog park. The kids called her Lilah, but I changed it to Delilah . . . and it fit her to a "T."

In the bible Delilah is the downfall of Sampson, a strong Hebrew warrior. She keeps trying to get the secret of his strength, but when he tells her, she has Sampson's enemies do it. He tells her, if I am tied up with green saplings, then I will be powerless. He wakes up tied with green saplings, bursts the bonds, and slaughters the enemy. Whatever he tells Delilah, they try. You'd think he'd catch on, but no. He, like an idiot, tells her his real secret. His strength will never wane, as long as he never cuts his hair. Next thing you know, he's as bald as Britney Spears.

Anyway, my dog Delilah is a pretty red dog, an Australian Cattle Dog, or maybe a Kelpie. Maybe part Dingo. She is pretty, but can be contrary. She might not want to come in at night, and if you leave the gate open, and she gets out, good luck trying to get her to come back.

Anyway, my niece Kelsey told me about this band so I checked them out. I like the song, "Hey There Delilah" and it is also the name of their album. There are two versions, and the last one seems to be a sing along, like their fans heard it and everyone who came to their show knew the words. I like it that they inspire such loyalty.

Their music sounds like rough rock, but with a focus on songwriting. Maybe they would fall in the category of Emo. I played it for my dog, Delilah, and was wondering if she would respond to her name being sung. She had no reaction. She gave it two paws down. But what does she know about music anyway? I like it.

I recently saw this group at Warped Tour and really liked them. I had their CD before this, but never really listened to it. At Warped Tour, they had a tent and they all signed a tee shirt I bought, and then took a picture with me and my sister. The entire way home from the concert, I listened to both of their CD's, and really liked them.

Another one hit wonder.......2007-07-10

I'm soooo tired of hearing the Tees squeek out their one hit wonder "Delilah". This song should be used as a torture device to get criminals to spill their guts. Hearing this over and over and over would invite madness. This is my most hated song of all time, surpassing "I Shot The Sheriff", "Betty Davis Eyes", and "Loving You". Dull, sappy, weak, thin, garbage.

Plain White T's are All That We Needed!.......2007-01-14

A mix of power pop/alternative/and indie songs, Plain White T's put a lot of passion in their music. The songs are very good and well written even if they are slightly repetitive. Many of their lyrics are sweet love songs or songs about relationships gone wrong that would appeal to many who listen to emo music. However I would not classify them as emo for their music is generally upbeat. If you like to listen to just a few songs off a CD Plain White T's, All That We Needed, is a good buy. You will find that you fall in love with ½ the songs and the find others are good also. Listening to a CD as background noise you will love the sound and the lead singer, Tom Higgenson, has a great voice. The song "Hey There Delilah" sinks into your soul and make you want to melt in your shoes. It is soft and sweet love song it starts off with;
"Hey there Delilah,What's it like in New York City?, I'm a thousand miles away, But girl tonight you look so pretty,Yes you do,Time Square can't shine as bright as you,I swear it's true"
If this is the only song you've heard off that album I will warn you that it is the only real acoustic song on the album. The other songs are good in a different, more 'get up and jump around,' kind of way. The music is passionate and have very good beat that cause you to want to put it in your CD player on repeat. I would 99% recommend this album but try not to over play it as soon as you get it!

One Good Song.......2007-01-11

This CD get 2 stars for the last song and 0 stars for the rest. I bought this CD spefically for the last song, "Hey There Delilah." I had hopes that there might also be some other songs on the CD that would be worth listening to. In my opinion the last song was the only one worth listening to because all of the others are simply annoying.

the original plain white t's cd with fearless records..........2007-05-08

i love this cd! it's my favorite of all of their cds. it seems so real, because it is. these songs were written when the guys were regular people, complaining about life as a teenager in the suburbs. i can relate to a lot of the songs, and they're super catchy. Penny is my favorite song by the t's. this cd sounds completely unmanufactured, which is probably why i love it so much.

Awesome CD.......2007-05-06

I first heard of Plain White T's through a friend and after finding their album "Every Second Counts" (and loving it!) I decided to go and find the band's other CDs too.

It's hard to pick one favorite song here because they're all so good. Like most of the band's songs the lyrics are really powerful. Sometimes they're called Alternative and Punk, but I'd term their music as closer to rock--something similar to Daniel Powter and a little softer than Matchbox 20 (circa "More than you think you are") and a little angrier/punkier than Train.

"Radios in Heaven" is likely the most well known song on this album. It's a classic lost love ballad and is quite good. However, I find the band's break up songs to be much more powerful and evocative. My personal favorite on this CD is "Penny (Perfect for you)." The song begins with the recurring line "What's your car doing outside his house, it's three o'clock in the morning"--a line that sets up the theme for rest of the song. Interestingly, this song keeps the same tempo and upbeat sound of other songs on the album (like "Happy Someday"--a forward-looking song about not dwelling on regrets) so that it is only with repeated listening that the underlying meaning comes through.

That's the great thing about this album. The songs are all multi-dimensional and offer a unique experience.

I must admit, I had never heard of this band until a good friend of mine sent me a song of theirs. The moment I heard it, I was hooked. The lyrics are intelligent and tap into real emotion. A must have for anyone who likes to have some substance with their strumming.

There music, and stage presents, and lyrics make them one of the few bands out there that are not classified as POSERS, they are all heart and music..

I've been a fan of Mayday Parade for a long time, I think I played their demo cd so much that it no longer runs on my cd player! I was desperately awaiting this full-length studio album and am extremely happy and overwhelmed! Great lyrics / vocals and catchy riffs as well as hooks! If you're looking for up and coming pop-punk go with this! The only downfall is one or two songs sound alittle similar. The best thing about this band is their ability to display raw emotion through their lyrics - Black Cat's guitar riff is sick too! This definitely should be a part of everyone's 2007 Summer purchases!

While this new album maintains its artistic mix of aurora borealis-avant-indie pop and post-punk, "Church Mouth" paves a new musical path for the band. A departure from 2006's drum-machine and sequencer-heavy "Waiter: You Vultures!", "Church Mouth" leans on Led Zeppelin, The White Stripes, and Santana for inspiration. Front man John Gourley was also listening to a lot of Blind Willie Johnson, Muddy Waters, and Robert Johnson when he wrote the record. While most of us who grew up in the continental US were raised on Saturday morning cartoons and sugary cereal, Gourley's Alaskan upbringing was unorthodox; his youth spent exploring nature in one of the few virtually untouched territories left in the world. As a result, his striking enigmatic vision makes its mark on the band's packaging, merch design, videos, photos, posters, and the music.

Quite an amazing album.......2007-08-07

This is a revelation. Portugal, the Man, as a band, has a musical balance which is rare, and quite refreshing. Few prog bands manage to put together such a varied and rich musical landscape, without attempting to shock for shock's sake.

I have to take issue with the comparison to the white stripes, though, which is as overrated a band as I can think.

My only problem (and it's a big one) is with the sound engineering on the album, which is absolutely horrendous. I hope that when the band gets the money, they get to remaster the album properly.

Excellent follow up effort.......2007-08-04

I'd prefer to save 5 stars for truly exceptional, once-in-a-lifetime albums, but Portugal. The Man's second full-length studio album comes about as close as one can get.

An exceptional sophomoric record, Church Mouth displays the brilliance of tracks like "Elephant" and "Tommy" from their first album with a more bluesy, mature, and complete sound.

As the first reviewer mentions, comparisons with The Mars Volta are no doubt inevitable. I found the EP It's Complicated Being a Wizard more in line with TMV's experimental, atmospheric sound, but said comparisons are not out of place here. I think Portugal is a bit more restrained than anything from Cedric and Omar et al., and it's all more condensed (3 and a half minute songs instead of 12 minutes...) but the analogy holds true.

Overall it's quite good. Can't wait to see them at El Corazon later this month. Definitely their best album to date.

Clever Disguise.......2007-08-01

Comparisons to the Mars Volta are welcome, except this time around Portugal The Man has decided not to use as much electronic interference as they did on their previous efforts. Try the concept Secret Machines has carved out with their pulse-pounding beats. It's more eratic then Secret Machines. The drumming is what carries this album into the world of psychadellic rock along with vocals that don't compare to Led Zeppelin, but easily could be mistaken for them. "Church Mouth" could have easily been a Led Zeppelin album. Indeed, this is a clever disguise... and it's good enough to listen to multiple times.

This is punk?.......2007-06-30

Yeah, some of it is okay. I'm a fan of both Punk AND Emo/Screamo. This is def a bait and switch though. You could tell Anti-Flag was thrown on there to gain street cred with the punk crowd. But anyone that actually listens to punk would shut this off before even getting to that far in the album. Jack's Mannequin is punk?

I think they should have done two cd's. Emo Goes Acoustic and Punk Goes Acoustic. Put the stuff on the right CD so people don't grab it expecting something totally not what they are promoting.

"Unplugged" music fans need to discover this CD.......2007-06-03

Most tracks on this CD boast outstanding production skill and highest quality recording equipment. These tracks work well together and provide gorgeous hooks and harmonies throughout. If you love unplugged music, you should buy this CD. I can't stop listening to it. Don't miss the Jack's Mannequin acoustic song, "Bruised," but each song stands on its own and is worth listening to. These acoustic versions allow you to appreciate the intimate features of each vocalist in ways that you otherwise couldn't.

Flavor of the Week.......2007-05-26

This is a fair to decent CD for what it is, and it's nice to see a "Punk Goes" disc that isn't full of cover songs for once. With that being said, Punk Goes Acoustic 2 is still nothing more than a cash in by Fearless Records, a "Now 203 or whatever for alternative music fans. The majority of this disc is filled with the latest pop rock/emo flavors of the week, Anti-Flag and Set Your Goals are merely thrown in for street cred (as attested to by their track numbers).
I'm not bashing this CD because it's not "punk", most of the band's put on a good performance, but it's hard not to laugh at a record that features Daphne Loves Derbe and the Spill Canvas next to a band like Anti-Flag. I think Jello Biafra would have a thing to say about this.
Buy this if you can't get over your 7th grade girlfriend.

Album Description

From 1994-2000, At The Drive-In held the attention of music fans and critics alike. During their career, they released three albums and numerous EPs. You can hear their influence today on so many releases across the rock genre. Members have gone on to form The Mars Volta, Sparta, and various other projects. Seemingly influenced in equal parts by hardcore punk, heavy rock, and modern industrial rap-metal, At the Drive-In provides music tailor-made for head-banging. Unlike such acts as Korn and Limp Bizkit, At the Drive-In isn't afraid to throw in the occasional semi-catchy melody, giving the uninitiated something on which to hang their hat. Other than that, however, there's little in the way of commercial concessions on RELATIONSHIP OF COMMAND. Rampaging guitar riffs, turbo-charged drumming, and super-emotive, lung-challenging vocals are the order of the day. The lyrics are often a bit elliptical, so its sometimes hard to tell exactly what the boys are going on about, but that can work to their advantage too, allowing the listeners to fill in the blanks. Slightly more refined than some of their contemporaries, but undeniably hard-hitting, At the Drive-In stands proudly at the center of circa-2000 heavy rock, and RELATIONSHIP OF COMMAND is their battle cry. In early 2005, look for the "Anthology" CD of greatest hits, exclusive unreleased tracks, rarities, covers, videos, interviews, and exclusive live footage.

Good progressive hard rock.......2007-05-09

Before there was the Mars Volta there was At The Drive In. The singer and guitarist went on to form the more famous band. Since I hadn't heard of At The Drive In until after they went their own ways, I first heard the CD in comparison to the Mars Volta. There are a lot of similarities, the singing and guitar are of course coming from the same place. The songs are very dramatic, and some of the intros hint at the later noise experiments of the Mars Volta.

This is a very listenable CD, because the songs are a reasonable length, and they rock out. There's very little extraneous, and everything on the CD is good.

Perfect songwriting and alien madness.......2006-12-16

Before Cedric and Omar were pushing the boundaries of music nearly to the extremes in the Mars Volta, they were blowing minds in At the Drive-in. To categorize their music is nearly impossible. They've most commonly been labeled as "punk", but that's hardly even scratching the surface. Truth be told, this is a sound that was nearly unique unto itself. The closest comparsion one could perhaps make is Fugazi, but even that is misleading. Either way, you're probably not going to be prepared for this on the first listen.

Now, since the Mars Volta have gotten fairly popular these days, especially among fans of progressive rock, I suppose it'd be fair to make the comparison. While TMV fit somewhat into the prog category, with their huge epic compositions and technically audacious musicianship, I would not quite put ATDI into this same category, at least not quite as squarely. While the music here is highly sophisticated, experimental, and unpredictable, it doesn't really achieve what most would call a "prog" aesthetic. The songs generally aren't that long, and the musicianship is much more closely rooted to the song itself. However, it's not to say that this is necessarily more straight-forward. If you love the explosive oddness of TMV, then you'll most assuredly love this as well.

Describing the songs is basically useless. From one second to the next, this album takes you on a thrilling journey of pure alien madness. From the raw psychosis of "Arcarsenal" to the spacious atmospheres of "Invalid Litter Dept.", this is definitely an album of extremes. But, even in its softer and more tranquil moments, it never gets particularly "normal". Songs like "One Armed Scissor", "Pattern Against User", and "Rolodex Propaganda" are surprisingly catchy, but are still far from being tailor-made radio hits. The album ends appropriately enough with the powerful rocker "Catacombs", which finally culminates with a finale of electronic beeping. At the end, you get the same sensation of having your brain removed, rearranged, and shoved back into place as you do with the Mars Volta, but much more focused and compact.

The point is, you need this album. Anyone who enjoys original, bizarre, daring music simply can't be without this. And, if you like TMV, but perhaps think they're a bit too excessive musically, you'll really love this. But either way, this is essential.

Important.......2006-10-31

Released to near unanimous critical acclaim, _Relationship Of Command_is a shocking, tightly constructed, highly accessible album which careers between genres, bristles with experimental qualities and shines with delectable, bright melodies.
But on first listening, this CD may soundlike a serious of random explosions set to a completely off the wall drum track with some guy punctuating it all with gibberish lines of screaming and energetic shouting. And yet, the energy is the key: this must be the most energetic, frantic album _ever_. At heart it fuses punk sensibilities (fast, riotous songs, a destructive and uncompromising musical aesthetic) with ideas more common to experimental rock (unpredictable song structures, grandstanding eclecticism, instrumental virtuosity), and importantly, it combines these disparate elements seamlessly. Indeed, I've never heard any other album that sounds quite, or anything like this. The band that splintered off from this, The Mars Volta, share some common ideals (and members), but where TMV will throw some ideas together and make (force?) a 30 minute epuc out of them, ATDI will shoehorn _all_ these ideas, maybe even a full albums worth, into one 4 minute song! And what songs they are: 'Arc-Arsenal' literally explodes into life out of nowhere, with gorgeous, melodic guitar lines underpinning a punk infused anthem, with unpredictable twists all over the place. 'Invalid Litter Dept' is some sort of space age, epic harcore anthem, with completely insane lyrics and soaring, epic melodies. 'Enfilade' kicks off with a genuinely creepy spoken intro (hear to believe) then flys off the handle with static and looped beats, and a truly devastating chorus section. 'Catacombs', possibly the one song in my collection that truly can only be described as 'angular', is an impossible fusion of atonal guitars and wailing, schizophrenic vocals. Avant-rock-progressive-punk anyone? Throughout the album, the vocals rarely stray from deranged screaming and random interjections, but the instrumental play - fluid guitar melodies, meaty power chords, utterly _insane_ drumming and little touches of so much else (the production is a smooth, accessible marvel) never fail to reatin my interest.
After six years with this CD, and having discovered countless bands and albums since, it surprises me how ell this album stands up in my estimation. Such a high energy explosion of viruosity and anger has been taken to extreme limits by The Dillinger Escape Plan, but ATDI created something here which I doubt will ever be repeated or topped. A truly remarkable album, this is a stunning work, brimming with vision and invention, and with the chops, utterly stellar songwriting and plain old courage to make it work.

Beyond Words...........2006-08-24

I honestly don't think I can put into words how great this album truly is. Its truly one of the greatest albums I've ever heard. Although, it took me awhile to feel that way. At the Drive In takes awhile to set in, Omars voice is at first a bit disrupting and rough around the edges, but you gradually grow to love it, as you do with everything else about this band. At the Drive In is in your face with funky and crazy riffs that are accompanied with Omar's unique voice. You really can't describe their sound, you just have to experience it for yourself. But let me tell you, they are one of the most creative and unique bands I've ever experienced. They are truly one of the most influential bands of the post/hardcore punk scene. Many bands have been influenced by ATDI that are popular today. And this album delivers what ATDI do best, and thats rock your socks off. And you keep coming back to get your socks rocked off again and again. Its raw, emotional, intense and emotional. I love the unique guitar riffs and sounds the band produces. Its a very complex album, you hear piano's in some songs, and other little atmospheric effects are littered throughout.

This is by far the strongest ATDI album. 2nd in my book would probably be Vaya, which has some great tracks on it. Its too bad that this is the last ATDI album, it would of been nice to see where these guys could have gone had they stayed togeather. Altough you now have 3/5ths of them in the Mars Volta. While The Mars Volta and Sparta are great bands in their own right, they have branched off into different directions and don't quite match the energy and magic that makes up ATDI. Some bands just have that chemistry, that cohesive nature too them that makes them something special. ATDI had this and this album epitomizes what makes them great.

Lyrically, this album is great. Some of the lyrics are out there and funky, like: "Yes this is the campaign slithered entrails in the cargo bay, A neutered is the vastness Hallow vacuum check the Oxygen tanks." How can you not love lyrics like that? The lyrics fit perfectly with the style of the music being played.

There is really not a bad song on the album, Enfilade is one of my favorites, as is One Armed Scissor and Quarantined. But the real gem of this cd for me is Non-Zero Possibility. Its easily one of the most amazing and songs I've ever heard. I can't get enough of it. Its different from most of the tracks on the album and it sounds almost like a pre-Mars Volta song. Sometimes I use that song to fall asleep, or at least listen too it right before I go to sleep, and has very moody atmosphere and almost puts you in a trance. Truly unbelievable. If you like Sparta or The Mars Volta, try ATDI and see where they started. You really can't go wrong with this album. Pucker up and kiss the asphalt now and go buy this Relationship of Command.

At The Drive-In_Relationship Of Command *****

Since their demise in early 2001 At The Drive-In has gone on to be somewhat of a legend. Their punk fueled music combined with progressive sound-scape's make for what is or what was one of the best bands of the 1990's. Relationship Of Command is a true testament to this legend as it is by far the best release of the bands career. While the bands first three records, Acrobatic Tenement, In/Casino/Out, and the Vaya EP were all great records Relationship Of Command is by far superior. Here Cedric and Omar's tag team had come together in full swing insuring their position as one of rock music's most dynamic duos. After this release however the band would separate and Cedric and Omar would go on to create the largely successful and amazingly original The Mars Volta.

Relationship Of Command begins with the pile-driver of a song `Arcarsenal' which couldn't be better for starting the album. Fast vocals and even faster guitar make this song a sure win. `Pattern Against User' keeps the album going in full swing with awesome guitar work and out of this world vocals, truly one of the best songs the band ever made. `One Armed Scissor' was the bands closest song to a hit single, because it was actually played on the radio and on TV regularly. It's probably the best song the band ever recorded. It contains and instantly memorable chorus which is always a good thing. `Sleepwalk Capsules' is very stop and go and contains a lot of time changes and rhythm switches which makes for one interesting song that never gets boring. If `One Armed Scissor' isn't the bands best song then `Invalid Jitter Dept.' easily fills the shoes, its one of the more brilliant songs you could ever hear in your life. Performed mostly in spoken word with a semi-chorus in the mix. A social political poem in true punk fashion and performed wonderfully, those who had the luxury of seeing the band perform this track live are few and lucky. `Mannequin Republic' is a very intense track with lots of yelling, not screaming, yelling, but he does it while singing so Cedric's voice still sounds fantastic and never gets annoying. `Enfilade' begins with a really strange phone call intro the goes into a techno beat then a Mexican samba all before hurdling the listener into a full speed sound attack on the ears, and it's fantastic, truly was a sign of things to come in The Mars Volta. `Rolodex Propaganda' aside from having a pretty cool title is a very cool song as well complete with over the top vocals accompanied with incredible guitar playing by Omar. `Quarantined' is slower then the rest of the songs on the album but don't let that fool you this song is just a great and just as powerful as the rest of the songs on the album. `Cosmonaut' is a lot like `Mannequin Republic' but with better music and over all it's a lot better. Next us `Non-Zero Possibility' is a slower more spacy piano driven song. It was also the real end to the album, but if you buy the record instead of down loading you get the two extra bonus tracks `Extracurricular' and `Catacombs.' `Extracurricular' is very guitar driven and very good. `Catacombs' is excellent and is a very cool way to end the album.

Relationship Of Command is like I said the best album your going to get from the great At The Drive-In. But I would recommend checking out all of the bands albums as they are all great as well as the two Mars Volta albums. Highly recommended.

One of the most creatively ambitious bands in the scene, but the music confirms what the band name and album title suggest, that their perspective is very self-conscious and their primary ambition is just to stand out. I'll give them some credit for fully abandoning the screaming and metal riffs, but the kind of meandering minor-key arrangements they've found their way to strike me more as the product of looking over their shoulder at what other bands are doing than following their own creative muse. The layering seems haphazard, creating a cluttered effect where all the instrumental parts mutually relieve each other of responsibility for providing a foundation for the song. They're putting the decorations on but they forgot to buy the tree is what it feels like.

This album is like velvet and white noise harmonizing. It's melodic, sexy and haunting. I can't help but get lost in the music everytime I listen to this album.
If I had to compare it to other bands (which I'm barely able to) I'd say take Mars Volta, a lttle Kill Hannah, and a little Radiohead and you may have something close.

I was at a concert probably last february or march and i got handed a sampler cd for fearless records, and 2 portugal. the man songs were on there, 3. Stables & Chairs, 4. AKA M80 The Wolf I thought those songs were amazing in an original way and i played them about 500 times before i decided to buy the album...I did and its amazing... Very original.... especially vocals... 5 stars

Portugal. The Man's "Waiter - You Vultures!" is a mix of indie, soul, sort of hip-hop influence in one or two songs... and I dunno just really good. They're said to be known to sound like Circa Survive, but I think they sound better. They're a good find if you're looking for bands that sound different.

Not the man, not the country, the band. .......2006-04-05

Sounds like a more subtle, more melodic Mars Volta, with some early Radiohead. In some ways this album is what I had hoped Frances the Mute would have sounded more like. Dark, moody, abstract lyrics hang delicately above jazzy, guitar-based psychedelia, although some tracks feature manic Blood Brothers-like vocals ("Marching with 6") to mix things up. Standout tracks include "AKA M80 the Wolf", "Stables and Chairs" and "Tommy", but overall, Alaska-based Portugal. The Man offer a strong debut for anyone who likes their music unusual and fresh.

If you are reading this you must be thinking of buying this. Think no more, buy this now. Trust me you will not regret this. Im not going to lie this is deffinatly an Emoish cd but it is amazing. What this cd is, its an accoustic cd by punk and other types of bands.

i had 20 bucks and i was walking around borders looking for a good cd. i had previously bought some other compilations (atticus) and i enjoyed them, and i had seen this cd named as album on itunes for some songs. So i bought it for 13 bucks which is an amazingly good deal for such an amazing cd. i would pay 50 bucks for something this great.
This cd is a must have for any fan of any genre of music. Every single song on this cd is great and there is not one i would skip over. I seriously have listened to this cd at least 50 times through, it is that great. Standouts for me are Velvet Alley by Strung Out, Time to Talk by Open Hand, Cute Without the E by TBS, Swing Life Away by Rise Against, Alone in the World by Glasseater, etc etc i could list the whole cd but that is already shown here. This cd is amazing please do yourself a favor and buy it immediately.

True, some artists give a very weak performance on this album if you only look at the signing talent. BUT, on most of the songs the lyrics are far better than anything else written in my opinion. I like the original verison of most of the songs and I'm really glad there is now an acoustic version that makes it more like a ballad. If you take time to listen to the lyrics, you'll def. like the song better than for the signing performance along (take Taking Back Sunday as an example). I must have listened to this cd about 1000 times and I still listen to it regularly.

Merely Okay.......2005-05-16

I fear that this album simply reveals that some bands are just not good stripped from the magic of the studio. More so, that many singers are simply not cut out to actually be vocalists. True, the album does have a certain amount of talented musicians and they do have good acoustic tracks, but others...well, you get the point. Purchase the album mainly for the fact that you can see what bands are actually gifted in the realm of music, and which are suited only for studio production.
